There were three guards in front of the door: two in thick armor with tall shields and one behind them with slightly lighter armor and a spiked club on his back. All three wore face masks.
Taketori's whirling barrage of bone blades found their match in the pair of shields that the two guards at the fore. Though the shields were scarred deeply by the exchange, they remained intact. Then one of them shattered under the force of the Lariat, its owner sent sliding backward but still on his feet. The other shield was shoved in the way of Shazwanga's mouth.
The cold wind would be a bit of a problem if it continued. The one guard at the back slapped his armored hands together and sent out a strange electrical shockwave that would disperse the clouds immediately. As the winds subsided, he'd unhook the club and slam it down at Taketori, then kick it up at the overlarge bird. To round things out, one of the armored guys tossed down a smoke bomb that started billowing a thick purple mist.
Perhaps unnervingly, the guards seemed to be completely unphased by the shock and awe tactics. Ambush or no, they looked not only unafraid but almost confident.
Edit: Attacks used: Spiked club swing x2 (A strength, C speed), purple mist bomb (???).
Artemis was rather enjoying the scene in front of her, her two new Shishin brothers (and.. bird...) exploding into action and taking down the guards. If the territory and opponents weren't so unfamiliar, she'd kick back with a bag of popcorn. As it was, she needed to assist her team.
When the purple mist bomb hit the floor, she immediately threw her hands together. She generated a tornado around Taketori and the two guards closest to him. The powerful gusts would give Taketori an opportunity to continue attack guards while the mist had a chance to get sucked into the vortex and away from the Shishin team's lungs.
USED: Tatsumaki Wana [ Tornado Trap ] Rank: C Official Description: The user creates a large tornado about ten feet high directly around their enemy, wide enough so that they have little room to move. The opponent will find themselves trapped inside the eye of this tornado, unharmed by the winds but unable to move without touching the tornado. If they attempt to escape they will find the swirling winds will push them back inside the center, with several cuts and scratches due to the ferocity of the winds. However just as what’s inside cannot leave what is outside cannot enter; any attacks or projectiles will simply be deflected back out. Guild Description: The tornado lasts for two posts and has a three post cool down time.
These guards seemed competent and trained, perhaps even loyal to their cause. That was good, Taketori enjoyed feeling the Kaguya bloodlust flow through him. It would be dull if it ended too quickly. Seeing how well equipped his opponents were, a skeletal smile spread across his face. He had destroyed one shield and Shazwanga had either seized or been handed the other one. Heavy armor wasn't a joke to get through however.
One of the guards, not as well armored, had negated Shalamoana's contribution and moved forward to swing his club at Taketori. In response, he activated [ Invigorating Armor ], creating a thin aura of chakra that sparked to life around him. With his left hand, he activated his [ Dance of the Larch ] to catch the incoming weapon strike. With his high fortitude, the complex nature of his Dance, and the incredible strength of Kaguya bones versus non-chakra reinforced attacks, the spiked club would end up caught between his bones as one set came out to catch the club and the other came up around it.
Around this time, the other ninja threw the purple mist bomb that begin billowing in the area. Luckily, Artemis reacted quickly and summoned a tornado of wind using Taketori as the focal point. This trapped in two of the guards, the one with the club and the one who's shield he destroyed, in with him while excluding the giant bird and one of the other guards. The tornado was also sucking up the mist bomb. Taketori had a hunch it wasn't something he'd have wanted to breath.
He was going to test his hypothesis. If he had managed to trap the spiked club with his [ Dance of the Larch ], he was going to yank his left hand in a sudden motion to simultaneously disarm and unbalance the guard. At the same time, he would take a step forward and launch another attack. With the wind tornado, there was very little room for anyone to navigate in the tunnel. He aimed a [ Fissure ] punch, made for demolishing defenses such as armor, at the collar bone area of the guard. If it impacted, it would cause large fissures to appear within half a meter of impact of Taketori's large fist, covering the upper torso as well as the face mask of the club-wielder. He wanted to exposure the man's face to try and gauge a reaction. After all, the other heavily armored guard might also possess a smoke bomb as well.

• The third of Kimimaro's five dances. From the body, several bones pop out all at once. The stronger the opponent's physical attack, the more powerful the counter attack is, dealing severe damage. The sudden defense, combined with the needle-like bones high killing ability, makes way for a technique which potential his high for battle. The bones can be used to block or trap an opponent's strikes. In addition to being an unwelcome surprise for opponents, it makes him basically untouchable at close range. If an opponent would start to get close to him, he would start to spin rapidly slashing the foe in multiple areas of their body.
---- [Fissure] : Used at B-rank. S-rank strength, A-rank speed. Hibiware [ Fissure ] Rank: B :: Simple Description: A strike that shatters whatever it touches. When used on the ground, naturally occurring structures, or buildings, it causes large fissures to appear in a 2 meter radius per rank around the point of impact; if used against armor or defensive techniques, it does normal damage as though it were one rank higher, but only affects the area within half a meter of the impact point, allowing the user to create holes in otherwise sturdy defenses. Destroys unreinforced weapons.
Houou slapped his hands together forming 3 hand seals. The guard outside of the tornado that was pressing his shield against shazwanga, would suddenly feel a slight rumbling at his feet. A thick root would quickly erupt from from beneath the very ground at his feet. The massive root emerged only three feet above the ground before violently unfurling onto the floor as if a bag of snakes had just spilled out, roots whipping at the guard and his shield, completely ignoring the presences of Shazwanga leaving him unharmed by the onslaughts. Houous vines lashed In an attempt to get the guard to raise his shield and pull all of his focus forward. However he wasn’t aware that while houou was distracting him, that he had been surrounded by Houous roots. Like snakes on the grounds some lashed....yet some remained still. That is, until houou took advantage of an opening and sent five of the Roots at the guard with all of his might, aiming to skewer the guard where he stood.
From the very roots he had just created that were strewn about the floor, houou began his mokuton manipulation technique with his hands still forming the snake seal. Suddenly long leafy green plants began sprouting from the roots. These were; Snake plant and Areca Palm. Two plants famed for their air purification, having cleared large percentages of toxins out of locked rooms. Houou knew that this wasn’t a cure but with this where dense number of plants he just created, they should provide at least a buffer until they could get those doors open and filter the air through.
Houous was then turned to Atsuko with a worried look on his face. “Atsuko we need to do something about those doors. We can’t be trapped in here with that gas when Arts technique stops. ”
Wood Release: Underground Roots Technique Rank D Using the Wood Release, a user can manipulate the terrain, bringing out underground roots of varying sizes to fit various offensive situations, such as using the roots for trickery, misdirection and restriction. One can also use a large scale version, bringing out massive roots over a larger area that tangle around each other with such force that any one caught in-between is violently crushed to death. ( The Tajū version is treated as A-ranked, and is named 'Mokuton: Daisōju [ Wood Release: Great Spear Tree ]' )
Moku Soujuu [ Wood Manipulation ] Ability This control allows the Senju to bonsai existing vegetation as though it were rapidly growing. Not only can it take any form the user desires, but it can also be shifted around as if it were free from the ground. It should be noted that one can also manipulate wood they themselves have made, and it must be done while holding a double hand seal. Additionally, any wood that is being freely manipulated is not very solid, and can be broken or shattered as if it were completely natural, making it a poor choice for attacking or defending with. Atsuko heard his allies concern and watched the battle unfold carefully. He knew when he needed to strike, his sharingan sharp and watching for his opening. Quickly he'd dash in between attacks, going the safe route that brought him directly in front of the door well avoiding his allies attacks. In his hand a small mote of fire burned as Asumo prepared her breath, the lizard expanding for a moment. When the great gale of wind was released against the door Atsuko slammed the mote into the heavy steel, using Shoukyaku [ Incineration ] A Rank coupled with Daitoppa [ Great Breakthrough ] C Rank. The result would be heat that was already enough to burn away any object become bolstered with oxygen, which should cause the door to buckle or melt away. On top of this the wind should be powerful enough to break through to the other side, sucking any of the left over purple mist that was still in the area to the other side as well as sending molten metal inwards towards what ever was on the other side. All of this without any explosive ordinance.

After bringing his hand to his mouth, Orochimaru will blow a large blast of wind capable of leveling almost anything in its way. As soon as Artemis' tornado really got going, the heavily armored guard inside thrust a hand into it. There was an electrical flash and the winds dispersed, leaving a now restless cloud of purple mist billowing throughout the area. He then shot a thick length of cable wrapped in paper out toward Taketori, who had successfully disarmed the club man and put a sizable hole in his armor. The cable would attempt to bind the berserk Kaguya while its wielder's armor suddenly grew spikes. At the same time, the retreating--and now unarmored about the chest and part of the head--clubless guard averted his eyes and tossed up a ball of paper that immediately burst into an extremely bright light. If there were anyone who could view the scene through the light burst, they'd notice him also throw a small bundle of paper at the ceiling of the cave, where it stuck.
The armor guard outside the now-dispersed tornado folded in on himself to raise his defenses and endure the whipping and stabbing of the roots, only to rocket forward when Atsuko ran for the door. He rammed his hand in the way of the incineration just as it started. There was a flash of electricity and the flames would vanish, leaving behind a door that popped from the heat and a sizzling hand. The guard didn't stop there, though: such a brash attack had angered him, and so he stomped at Atsuko's leg with the intent to crush it.
Armor guard (tornado): Ayatsuito [ String Reeling ] (B), Tsunokabuto [ Spiked Helmet ] (C). Armor guard (near door): Touha [ Crushing Underfoot ] (A STR/C SPD). Club guard: Flash bomb (causes one post of blindness if viewed directly, unless viewed with Doujutsu).
The moment that the flash grenade went off houou was momentarily distracted. He had to close his eyes and lower his head in order to prevent himself from sufferering the after effects. During this time houou never released his hand seal and pressed forward with his attack, despite not being able to see anyone. The masked guard broke through the barrage of attacks and houou managed to open his eyes to notice that the man was moving to intercept Atsuko. However his reaction time was too slow to bind the guards feet and stop him from advancing. However, this wouldn’t deter houou from chasing the man down with his roots. Like snakes moving in for a kill, the roots twisted and slithered across the stone cave floor. Houou was too late, the masked guard had intercepted Atsukos jutsu and released a strange electricity, effectively putting out the fire. Even with the wind still colliding with the door, houou could see that it’s impact was greatly decreased.
The masked man probably had no idea that Houous roots were in fast pursuit. The moment he lifted his foot to crush Atsukos leg, he would be met with the force of several roots entangling his entire leg. The forward momentum, of the roots however, was not slowed in the slightest. As the guards leg was being entwined and trapped in the roots, he would find that his leg was now being pulled towards the door at an alarming rate, with the remaining roots grasping at his arms and remaining leg. Attempting to confine the man, or at the very least provide a troublesome distraction while Atsuko made his next move, houou relentlessly tried confine the man.
Simultaneously Houou would see the tornado begin to dissipate with the same strange electricity. Noticing from afar that the guard had deployed a strange cable at the bow blinders Taketori. He must have been far to close to the flash bang to react in time. With his hands already pressed together, houou rapidly formed three more hand seals and focused on the cable. Suddenly a large wooden net would emerge from beneath the ground, the intent was for the wooden net to stop the forward momentum of the cable, and effectively pinch the cable between the wooden net and the ceiling. Just as the wooden net slammed into the ceiling with great force, effectively stopping the cable. From one side of the wooden net houou launched five thick spikes at the heavily armored guard in another attempt to change the odds of this battle. Disgusted in the shadow of the top spikes, there were 3 more roots slithering along the ground at a slightly delayed pace.
“Everyone fallback! Atsuko you are too close to that gas!”
Houou bellowed our inncase anyone hadn’t seen the tornado dissipate. .

Jukai Heki [ World of Trees Wall ] Rank C The user creates countless wooden branches that grow at high speed from the ground. The wood interlaces to form a wide, net-like wall with an impressive defensive power.
Atsuko saw things unfolding rapidly and knew that they had to act fast otherwise things were about to get deadly and immediately so. His pet Asumo would start things off then as the pair went into action immediately once the wood protected him. The dragon activated Kouryuu [ Wind Release Stream ] Rank: D, which would immediately fill the immediate area with a rush of fresh air that filled every crack. More importantly was that it would push all of the purple mist back and further down the tunnel, away from their group for a few crucial moments and Atsuko was damned set on using those moments.
Hands already into a flurry of signs Atsuko made two shadow clones, each of them beside one of the other guards directly. Then what happened next would be very confusing for the victims and even possibly his allies to watch. Each of the clones and Atsuko himself split off into an additional 15 more, his Multistrike A Rank creating 5 after images for each of the Atsuko's in the area. Then his three main selves would fire off into Mortar Shell B Rank, the mass of 18 Atsuko's throwing over hand strikes at the guards from all sides at once.
His pet was focused entirely on setting off the Wind Release Stream as well as making sure that no one interrupted him during all of this.

It was such a thrill to have reliable teammates as he noticed a net of wood prevent him from being entangled by an incoming rope. Looking forward to continuing his assault, a sudden bright light blinded Taketori temporarily, catching him off guard.
In response he quickly dropped down to a more defensive position, kneeling with this body pulled in and arms up in a close guard around his face. His eyes remained open to gauge when his vision would return. He could hear Atsuko leaping into action and would leave it to his capable hands. This blindness was a tough pill to swallow but his teammates' ability to cover for each other left Taketori feeling reassured enough to relax and focus on recovering some stamina and chakra. The heat of battle meant it would not be much, but sometimes the extra ability use would make the difference between life and death. In his current state he was in position to contribute as is.

"#$%^, this got chaotic real quick," Artemis observed. Everything was moving too fast for her to even keep track -- were there that many Atsukos beforehand? She took a deep breath, focused on the door. She needed to focus on one objective; her six teammates could take on the guards well enough.
"Goin' in~" she muttered under her breath, putting her hands together and using a shunshin to appear directly in front of the door, past the violence and bloodshed. She held her left palm out and channeled her chakra with extreme focus. Yes, yes, yes... Rasengan! She threw the Rasengan directly at the door, hoping to accomplish something.
USED: Fuuton: Shunshin no Jutsu [ Wind Release: Instant Movement Technique ] Rank: D Official Description: Nearly exactly like the Maruton version of Shunshin no Jutsu, this one lifts the user into the air, allowing for atmospheric travel for the same distance. Releases a small burst of air upon use, pushing back projectiles thrown at the user.

Much happened in the moments that followed. The guard nearest the door found himself pinned to the still-cooling metal, managed to wrestle free of some of the roots only to be blasted by a Mortar Shell and turned partially into paste, then got a bunch of shrapnel in his side from the door exploding under the stress of a Rasengan and the rapid heating it had undergone.
The guard who had lit the flash bomb responded very poorly to the mess of after-images and the subsequent Mortar Shell. His armor having been stripped earlier meant that he had very little in the way of defenses, so he was out as well.
The guard with the cable looked bewildered when it was deflected into the ceiling, but when he saw that his allies were dropping like flies, he resolved himself. His job was to protect what was behind that door. The paper wrapped around the cable glowed, then detonated, bringing down the ceiling in the area. It was a virtual certainty that he would die as a result, but his success was evidently more important than his survival.
As the clouds of purple mist billowed out toward the main mineshaft, several shouts and the sounds of a small-scale evacuation could be heard.
Beyond the door:
A long room full of densely-packed bookshelves and rows of nearly opaque glass vats occupied the space on the other side of the door. While the area was poorly lit everywhere except the desks along the outside walls, the air was clean and almost sweet compared to the caves and tunnels the group had been in before and there were fewer signs of guards. There were a few researchers huddled under desks, clearly terrified out of their minds. At the far end of the room directly across from the entrance was a second door, this one much heavier but with a manual bolting mechanism easily operable from this side.
Those with enhanced senses would detect the following, among other things:
Sight: Deformed figures floated suspended in the vats. They looked like extremely emaciated people with exceptionally wide mouths and hair longer than they were tall. Hearing: Any ongoing devastation of the caves would feel distant even just within the entrance. A faint hum emanated from the vats, just barely audible on the low end of human hearing. Smell: The scent of disinfectant hung in the air, growing stronger near the door at the far end. Notably, the typical scent of books that would accompany a library this size was absent, as was the smell of the cowering researchers. The vats smelled of dirt and animals, though the smell could only be picked up within a half-meter of them. Touch: Upon passing through the entrance, any ongoing devastation in the caves would cease to be felt. The air in the room was uniformly cool and dry. Taste: The air left behind a slightly chemical aftertaste reminiscent of a combination of soap and ink. Chakra-sensing: There was a barrier over the entrance, but its purpose was unknown. There was nothing on the other side of the far door as far as they could tell, or at least nothing living. Faint traces of Chakra marked the presences of creatures inside the vats.
As his wooden spikes sailed toward the armored guard, houou would notice that the man wasn’t even attempting to avoid his attack. Initially houou suspected that the man was out of stamina and just caught off guard... but he was wrong. The man had activated explosive tags that were attached to the cable. Houou had to think fast once he saw the familiar bright flash of light. With swiftness, houou detached the tips of the advancing spikes, turning them into five smaller projectiles that would all find themselves imbedded deep within the guards body. Houou needed to release his hand seal and subsequently, control of the spikes so that he could reach into his bag for an important item that Magnus had given their group.
Houou could see the explosion going off as he pulled the marble from his pocket and activated it. In the heat of the moment, houou had shut his eyes out of fear that they were about to be crushed..... houou sat there with his eyes squeezed shut, as the marble glowed in his palm. Opening one eye he glanced around noticing that there was no more sound of rocks falling. Looking to his comrades he would be relieved to see that all of the enemies had fallen in the area. However, now Houou could see beyond the massive doors that had now been blown down.
Walking up to the door houou would stop at the entrance, wary of entering the poorly lit room. Starting from his feet and following along the edge of the room, thick roots began to spread up the walls and across the floor. Even the Vats were being surrounded by Houous roots, securing themselves tightly around the strange looking creatures. Houou was especially hesitant to disturb whatever these creatures were. These roots would spread all the way to the second door to the back of the sanitary research room. Suddenly from the roots would begin to sprout Mycena manipularis and FoxFire fungus. These two fungi are well know for their bioluminescent traits. The dark room would be filled with blueish green light emitting from the plants. This beautiful natural light would clash with the dim torches providing a perfect low lighting , revealing anything lurking in the shadows.

Taketori was impressed with Atsuko's takedown. While he had not seen the actual technique in action, the aftermath spoke for itself. And the quick thinking of Houou to prevent a cave-in using one of the Variable Marbles was good. He would need Atsuko to teach him this technique at some point in the future as well. In the mean time, while Houou was starting an evacuation of the researchers inside, Taketori felt his scavenging instincts take over as he began to strip armor and equipment off the guards who were taken out. He was especially interested in their gloves and face masks, taking one face mask and wearing it loosely around his neck while closely inspecting the gauntlets of the heavily armored guards for any mechanisms. He would keep one pair and offer the other set to someone else to inspect. Maybe they would have the insights he didn't.

Everything had been dealt with, one way or another. However they had to move quickly. The main guards were taken out but now they were into a new room and audible sirens could be heard. He had no idea what was in those vats but he wouldn't waste time thinking on it.
