Morrigan
Egan didn't get a chance to do anything to Blade before Morrigan stepped out of the feral shifter's shadow and gripped her by her hair. She didn't hesitate before using her grip to pull Blade toward her and sweeping her legs out from under her. She quickly followed this up by grabbing her by the throat and slamming her against the wall, using her telekinesis to augment her strength. She released her grip on Blade's throat and delivered a hard punch to the chest, the force more than enough to break several of Blade's ribs. She followed up with a series of punches all over Blade's body, the resulting cracking noises a sign that her punches were strong enough to break bones. Blade was a great fighter, even in this state, but she was no match for Morrigan when so much rage was driving her. Morrigan was simply too ruthless, delivering blow after blow faster than Blade could react. And judging by the way Morrigan was attacking, it wouldn't take long for her to beat Blade to death if she kept going. She heard Egan yelling at her to stop, saying that Wind would die if she killed Blade, but she just couldn't seem to stop attacking.

Egan was moving to restrain Blade when Morrigan showed up and started ruthlessly beating the feral woman. He froze for several moments, paralyzed by the rage he felt coming from Morrigan. He could usually handle strong emotion, but this rage seemed to drain his energy and suffocate him. He finally managed to get himself moving again when he saw that Morrigan was showing no signs of stopping despite the fact that Blade was far from being able to fight back at this point. "Morrigan, you have to stop!" he yelled, trying to get through to the enraged wolf. "Wind will die if you kill her!"

Ohvan coalesced from the shadows in the corner, quietly watching as Morrigan exacted savage vengeance against Blade. Producing a cigarette from his pocket, he lit it up and folded his arms over his chest, silently puffing on it with a soft sigh. Her anger was valid, her response no different than his own would have been in the same situation. As thus, he kept an eye on Blade's life force, watching her to make sure she wouldn't die from such a savage beating. When he felt it was enough, he strode forward and grabbed Morrigan's arm, roughly dragging her back with a deep growl. His Mark began to show on her, glowing as Ohvan enforced his will on her veery soul; something he only did in the direst of circumstances. Little else would calm Morrigan down, anyways. "Enough." He stated, using both arms now to hug her to his chest and hold the struggling were until she would become still.

"She will be punished accordingly, Morrigan. We have more pressing matters. Assassins target people by orders. We find her handler, and we kill them. If we can find your sister's soul, I can revive her." Resurrecting the dead meant little to a Harvester; life and death were simple concepts to manipulate. Without Betany's soul, however, the best he could do was make a mindless undead out of her. Hardly fitting for family. He quietly beckoned for Gypsy to come, to help Morrigan relax and grieve while his attentioned turned to Egan. The Harvester was still in heat, but he managed to put sex out of his mind as his gaze deeper into a frown. "You. Boy. Explanation. Now."

Gypsy appeared almost instantly at Ohvan’s call, appearing in a flash of flames that showed how close her demon side was to the surface. She immediately went to Morrigan and held her, tucking her face into her shoulder to keep her from looking at Bethany. In truth, Morrigan would know better than anyone what Bethany would want in relation to Ohvan’s offer.

For the first time since her breakdown after her reunion with Ohvan, Gypsy cried for the third time in her life. But this time wasn’t for herself. This time, she cried for Morrigan and Bethany as she stood there and held the wolf that had taught her to love again after she’d given up on it entirely. So very long ago, when her father had told her that Ohvan was dead, Gypsy had buried her heart. Until Morrigan had opened it up to the possibilities. Then Ohvan had come back to her and Morrigan had surprised her again by making all three of them into a family.

Neither female knew that they were pregnant yet and it would take a couple of days for them to realize it, but any male with demon blood in them would recognize it immediately… If they were paying attention…

Once Wind was out of danger, Dancer looked to the newcomers and found himself instantly distracted. Enough so that he completely missed Wind crawling over to Blade and lifting her head and shoulders into his lap where he cried over his sister. They’d all believed her to be dead and he was now thinking that Morrigan had succeeded in killing her for real.

Dancer had to work hard to focus again, closing his mismatched eyes right before they flashed to crimson. He was still having to deal with Kam’s orders and so far only Egan had been able to keep him from going on another spree of bloody orgies. While he was bound to Egan and Wind now, he did still have to deal with the fact that Kam wasn’t dead yet and he would still have times when he’d hear those orders echoing in his head.

Especially when Egan was distracted.

He worked hard at pulling himself back together so that he wouldn’t be a problem before he started speaking to Ohvan and the girls, “The one that did this to her is dead… Little Shadow ripped out Gurzil’s heart and brought it back to her daddy… The one that trained me, however, still seems to be alive… I don’t know why I’m still hearing that b*****d’s orders, though. Egan’s Mark should have eliminated that,” he shook his head a bit and somehow got himself to his feet.

All three of the males were wearing little or nothing…

Alright, Egan wasn’t wearing anything at all. Wind and Dancer were wearing robes that didn’t really hide anything as much as just kept the chill off. So it was pretty obvious that they’d all been in bed, or close to it, when the s**t hit the fan. Wind was a more grounded and earthly handsomness, a touch more masculine than pretty; though his long brown hair actually added to his beauty. Egan was a typical Alpha: muscular, dominant, and absolutely gorgeous while being completely at ease with his body to the point that he had no problem being nude in any way. Dancer, however, had inherited the more exotic looks from his incubus heritage: one emerald eye and one pale blue, silver and white hair that fell to his ankles, athletically muscular body that was perfect for bedsport but carried a lot of scars from the Arena in Hell’s Cradle, and features just masculine enough to keep him from being mistaken for a beautiful woman.

All in all, they were a striking trio. And Egan was in heat as well…

Dancer staggered a bit as he moved over to Wind but covered it well. He placed a hand on Blade’s chest as he knelt beside Wind, a golden glow surrounding his hand before it moved into Blade’s body. That glow healed the worst of her wounds and would keep her alive. He held out a hand and ‘called’ the bracer-cuffs to his hand before he slapped them on Blade, knowing that they would keep her contained if she awakened suddenly.

Unlike Wind, he kept his emotions hidden over the whole thing. While he’d been kept and ‘trained’ by Kam, Blade had been the only source of kindness he’d had, when she’d been allowed to be alone with him. And he greatly mourned what Gurzil had done to her. Probably more than most, since he’d been through much the same treatment at different times in his life: his father was the first, then Lark, then…. He shook his head and stopped the thoughts and faces and memories started to be too much.

He probably shouldn’t have used the energy on Blade that he had, but he couldn’t seem to help himself. He finally got to his feet and moved gracefully over to Bethany and ‘called’ up a sheet to cover her before moving back over to Egan.

Once he was beside Egan, though, he had to pause and close his eyes when he felt them shift again. It was then that he realized what was happening to him: he was still responding to what he’d done to Egan in using the dust on him. The stuff was the demonic equivalent of ecstasy and speed in one drug and had an interesting side effect on Mated males with a demonic bloodline: it sent them into a full raging heat that could do about half the damage that Ohvan could do. Only the fact that Dancer could take him on and survive it had kept Egan from going insane by now and/or killing Wind with pure pleasure. Since he was now bound to both males as well, he could take that excess energy and convert it into magical energy that 1) kept Egan from killing Wind, 2) allowed Dancer to store some of the energy for healing or other magics, and 3) kept Dancer mostly well-behaved after his ‘training’ and orders from Kam.

Gypsy was grateful to Dancer for covering Bethany’s body but ignored Wind and Blade for now as she worked to keep Morrigan calm. She’d never seen a Harvester use his Marks like he had with Morrigan, to instantly force her to submit to his order, but she was grateful for it right now. She didn’t know what to do right now. She didn’t know how to help Morrigan handle the death of her twin sister. It wasn’t as if Gypsy had handled any of her losses very well, after all.

She kept her arms strong around Morrigan as she looked up at Ohvan with a confused expression on her face: she really didn’t know what to do right now…

Morrigan
Morrigan fought against Ohvan when he told her to stop, though her struggles immediately weakened when his Mark on her started to glow. It only took a few seconds for her to submit to his will and start to calm down. She was silent as Gypsy held her, trying to keep herself under control. She knew that Blade wasn't really to blame for what she had done. She was so consumed by her cat that her human mind was completely gone, possibly beyond the ability to restore. But knowing that did nothing to make Morrigan feel less angry. She took a deep breath and stepped out of Gypsy's embrace for a moment. "Don't bring Bethany back," she stated quietly. "The life she's been living for more than a year has been miserable and full of pain and fear. I don't think that she would want to come back for it. She can finally be at peace this way." She sounded cold and emotionless while speaking, but Gypsy and Ohvan would be able to feel how horrible it felt for her to say that it would be better to leave her twin dead. But she knew that it would be worse to bring Bethany back, that it would be cruel and selfish to bring her back into a miserable existence just so that Morrigan could be happy.

Morrigan's gaze moved to Blade and she took a deep breath. Her wolf was still trying to get out and completely work out her fury on the feral woman. And no matter how great her control was, Morrigan was finding it difficult to ignore this rage. So she did something that no one would have expected. She rapidly moved to stand over Blade and put her hand on the woman's head, using her power to burn the dying embers of her twin bond with Bethany into the feral shifter's mind. It wouldn't do anything to hurt her, but it would force Blade to feel that broken bond as if Bethany was her own twin. It would force Blade to see how Bethany had felt during her death, how she ahd felt during the past year. And it would force her to see how Bethany had felt about her before, how Bethany had loved her like family. It wouldn't be anywhere near enough to undo what had been done to her mind, but it would force her human mind to start to emerge again. Morrigan turned back to Gypsy and moved to embrace her again. She was enjoying being held by Gypsy when she heard Egan's question about how Bethany and Blade had gotten there. She knew that Gypsy had sent Bethany to the Were Sanctuary in order to spare her from Ohvan's heat, but she had no clue how Blade had gotten there. She had last seen Blade when she had put her into a silver-lined cage. There shouldn't have been any way for her to get out. And even if the feral shifter had somehow managed to escape the cage in her current state, there was no way she should have been able to get here so quickly. She couldn't have used any sort of magic to teleport here in her current state, so there was no way that she should have been able to get here so soon.

Egan watched Ohvan stop Morrigan and let out a sigh of relief. He allowed Wind to crawl over to Blade and then moved to sit with him and pulled him into a loving embrace. "She'll be okay now, Wind," he said gently. Egan was strong in practically any situation, but Wind was truly his greatest weakness. He took a moment to collect himself and thought about things as Dancer explained how Shadow had killed Gurzil. He sighed softly. "How are we going to tell Shadow about this? She's already been unstable from being around Gurzil. She's already traumatized from everything that happened in that place. What is the death of her mother going to do to her?" His gaze moved to Ohvan when the Harvester addressed him. "Does this really need an explanation? Blade showed up out of nowhere and ambushed Wind. Bethany showed up and forced her to change her focus. She died to save Wind." He shook his head. "How did either of them even get here? Bethany was at Sanctuary, and Blade was completely off our radar. How did the two of them end up here?"

Ohvan was not pleased with the explanation, his frown becoming more prevalent and his growls more frequent. The entire situation displeased him, having long moved past an annoyance into an actual problem. This feeling was only exacerbated by his heat, evident in the restless shadows that danced around him in a futile effort to quell his rage. Morrigan and Gypsy would feel their Marks flare up, their very souls feeling the rage and lust that was fueling Ohvan. More than ever, he needed to ********, but Morrigan and Gypsy would most likely be spent from being bred for three days and nights. For Morrigan to have undergone that and still find the power to demolish Blade was a testament to the strength and endurance that the woman had; definitely something to be proud of. It did not help that Egan was nearby; another Alpha to contest him was fueling the beast to assert its dominance. Overall, the tension in the room was palpable as Ohvan finally broke, looking to Egan and the others with a deep growl.

"Mate. Now." He was barely coherent at this point as his more bestial traits began to manifest themselves. Harvesters in their true form were eerie even to the most heinous of demons; they were the worst aspects of wraiths and monsters. He seemed to lose physical shape, the shadows becoming wispy grey smoke as phantasmal horns sprouted from Ohvan's head and scales began to develop at his extremities. Unlike other demons, he did not have wings; he simply began to float from the ground as he awaited the answer. His pheromones filled the hallway they were all in, and while the rational Ohvan felt an amount of shame that he would want to mate when his mate needed his support, the stress of the event had pushed his needs to the fore front.

Hell, at this point just about every living thing in the vicinity was fair game if nobody would willingly volunteer to slake his lust.

Dancer looked up at Morrigan and actually gave her a soft glare, “Someday, you and I are going to have to talk about what she went through… What you just gave her was beyond unfair… But that will have to wait until later,” he told her simply before he moved over to put a hand on Egan’s shoulder…

Gypsy knew what was happening in an instant and gave Egan an apologetic look before she pulled herself, Morrigan, and Blade back to Sanctuary. Only this time, she’d keep Blade where they could keep an eye on her…

Wind looked instantly confused and startled when his sister disappeared. He’d taken a bit of backlash from what Morrigan had done to Blade, so it was taking him a bit to catch on.

Thankfully, Dancer was fully aware of what was about to happen and grabbed Wind and Egan’s arms and pulled them into the Alpha’s rooms, allowing Ohvan to follow before he closed and locked the door. Wind went under the influence all too easily and even Dancer was surprised to find out about Egan’s ‘toybox’…

With Egan in heat as well, Dancer knew that he’d be working full time to keep Wind from becoming consumed by both Alpha males. Of course, the added benefits were that Egan’s heat would finish itself out and Dancer wouldn’t be feeling Kam’s orders for a while either.

The reason he’d pulled them all into the Alpha’s rooms, though, was because it would keep the rest of the house from falling under the influence. Though the rest of the pack would be getting bits of it through the pack bonds and Ohvan would be able to work some more of his heat out that way as well…

Thankfully, all three males were actually hybrids and a bonded triad. That meant that they lasted about as long as Gypsy and Morrigan had…

(And here's Egan. Remember, all Ohvan has to do is touch him to get his demonic half going.)

Egan frowned as he watched Ohvan starting to change after demanding that someone mate with him. The pheromones quickly started to get to him, causing a few brief moments where his skin started to take on the beautiful golden tone of his demonic half. If he hadn't been as strong as he was, he would have given in to Ohvan's desires immediately. As he tried to clear his head, Dancer pulled them all into their room, and Egan started to look rather annoyed as Wind fell under the Harvester's influence. He really didn't like the way things were going right now, and he planned to put a stop to it all. "Enough of this," he said. "I need you to leave, Ohvan. If you want to satisfy your heat, do it somewhere else. This isn't exactly the best time for this."

We can say that after this, Ohvan's heat is done and he is out like a light

Ohvan said nothing, staring Egan down with ferocious intent. "You are not the Alpha here." He retorted, his chest puffing out a little as he bore down on Egan. One hand pressed on his chest, pushing Egan to the wall as Ohvan's face drew near. His eyes were like a misty infinity, grey mists of otherworldly origin as the demon's breath wafted over him. "I am the Alpha. My needs are the only concern you and the others here will have." Darkness flooded the room, blocking out all sight but not sound.

"I'm the Alpha of this pack, Ohvan," Egan said. "I'm in charge around here." He was going to say more, but Ohvan was suddenly pressing a hand to his chest and forcing him against the wall. Egan's skin suddenly turned a brilliant, blazing gold as his heat fully ignited and put his demonic half in full control. Egan had never submitted to anyone before, but Ohvan wasn't just anyone. The Harvester would have been powerful and dominant enough to get anyone else in the pack, but the fact that Egan was half Incubus meant that Ohvan's influence was so much stronger. Egan's Alpha instincts were totally overridden by his demonic half's built-in need to submit to Ohvan. As the room flooded with darkness, the last thing Ohvan would be able to see was Egan falling before him in a show of submission that made it clear just how powerful the Harvester's influence was.

While Ohvan was distracting Wind and Egan, Shadow woke up and left her room. She walked through the house toward the kitchen, though she noticed that she was getting strange looks from quite a few people. She didn't understand why she was getting strange looks until she made it to the stairs and saw a body covered by a sheet. Her heart started beating quickly as she reached out to move the sheet. She staggered back a bit when she saw a very bloodied Bethany, her world starting to crumble down. Tears started to fall as her psychic abilities went out of control. She managed to force a vision of what had happened and saw Blade tearing into Bethany. "This is my fault," she whispered, "I let her out." The entire house started to shake, though it wouldn't do anything to distract Egan and the others. Shadow needed someone, but the one who was closest to her was currently being distracted by Ohvan. So as Shadow started to break down, she projected someone who would actually be there for here. Unfortunately, that person happened to be Gurzil. He whispered things to her about letting go and not holding back anymore. He helped her find the blocks in her mind that kept her power in check and told her how to get through them.

She was quiet and still as members of the pack started crowding around her to try to comfort her. She took a deep breath and the people around her started to go silent. She had released all of her locked up power, so toying with the minds of the entire pack was actually incredibly simple for her now. As Gurzil continued to whisper to Shadow, she kept using her power to take over the pack. By the time Ohvan finished with the trio, they would find the pack house very different than when they went into their room. The biggest change would be the total lack of any sort of noise in the house. They would find it completely silent and under Shadow's control.

When Ohvan finally let them all up for air, meaning out of the room, Egan was positively glowing with energy, Wind was healed, and Dancer had put away enough energy that he’d be working spells off of it for six months. Ohvan’s heat had pushed everything to the background and it wasn’t until they opened the door that the reality of what had happened finally hit Wind.

Of course, they had other issues to deal with before that reality could be dealt with.

The pack had gathered outside the door again, only this time they weren’t feeling any warn and fuzzies. Wind actually didn’t notice it at first. Instead, he moved for Shadow in an attempt to comfort her. He really didn’t notice anything for the first time since before he’d met Egan the first time, over two hundred years ago.

Dancer tried to grab him, he really did. But he couldn’t stop Wind from trying to go for Shadow. All he could do was try to warn Egan. The Alpha should have been the only person that could rein everything back in, as well as getting Wind’s attention. But he had no idea what Egan’s mindset was right now.

Somewhere in between everything that had happened (he still wasn’t sure how long they’d been in there), Dancer had explained to Egan what was going on with Ohvan and why the Harvester had been able to order the Alpha around as he had. He still wasn’t sure if the explanation had helped or not.

Right now, though, he was doing his best to channel some energy into a spell that might help.

It wouldn’t help, but he didn’t know what else to do…

Shadow was staring blankly at the door when Ohvan finally let the trio out of the room. She didn't move to stop Wind as he approached her, though the pack around her started to move to intercept him. "You lied to me, Daddy," she said. He would have a moment to register what she said before one of the pack members hit him in the gut with a strong punch. Several other members joined in and started beating Wind. Shadow allowed this for a moment and then stopped them as she moved to stand in front of Wind. "You promised me that you would always have time for me, that you would never be too busy for me. You lied. You weren't there when I needed you most. You were too busy." Gurzil appeared next to her, putting his hand on her shoulder. "So I found someone who would be here when I needed him. He helped me let go and really release my power." The entire house started to shake again, and Wind would definitely be able to see the way Shadow's mental state was starting to deteriorate at this point. Without Wind to help her, Bethany's death had driven her over the edge. And the fact that she was projecting Gurzil definitely wasn't helping her sanity. She suddenly gripped her head with a pained expression as Egan spoke, her control over the pack slipping as Egan reasserted his dominance over the pack. Shadow staggered away and then vanished before anyone could try to stop her.

Egan wasn't paying too much attention when he left the room with Wind and Dancer. He was still a bit out of it from the time with Ohvan. But he snapped back to attention when the pack started attacking Wind. He let out a low growl as he listened to what Shadow was saying. He resisted his natural instinct to attack the one threatening his Mates. Shadow was powerful and dangerous right now, but that didn't mean that Egan wanted to hurt her. He focused on the pack bond. His eyes flashed for a moment. "I am the Alpha of this pack," he growled. "I am the one in charge. Now get out of their heads." The pack members started to look around with dazed expressions, their minds freed from Shadow's control. He took a step toward Shadow but frowned when she suddenly vanished. "Damn it. This is turning into a huge mess." He sounded annoyed, but Wind and Dancer would be able to feel the concern he really felt for Shadow. He didn't like the thought of her running off on her own with only a projection of Gurzil to keep her company.

Wind felt the first blow and shifted on the spot as the flashbacks started. When the beating stopped and Shadow stood in front of him, he actually let out a pained whimper.

Dancer started to move towards Wind as Shadow disappeared but pulled back when the adorable wolf actually cringed away from him. The only blessing for them was that Wind moved to hide behind Egan instead of running to hide under the nearest bed.

Dancer shook his head briefly and left Wind and the pack to Egan as he checked on Ohvan, who was mercifully passed out at this point. That done, he moved to getting them ready to go to Sanctuary. Just a simple spell also had Bethany’s body prepared for the trip. Through his connection to Wind, he knew that Bethany had requested cremation instead of burial. So he’d simply prepared her body for transport to Sanctuary where Morrigan would be lighting the pyre, also according to Bethany’s request.

They’d also have to take Ohvan back to Sanctuary. Dancer had explained to Egan and Wind that the Harvester would sleep off the exhaustion that followed his heat and would likely be out for about a week.

Only when they were packed (though it was more like packing for Egan and Wind than packing for himself since he didn’t have any clothes here). He’d dressed himself in a pair of borrowed pants and a shirt snagged from Wind’s dresser. He wasn’t as dressed up as he’d been for Meno, but it would take time to have that kind of clothing made now that he no longer had the resources of the Re base at his disposal.

But all of that took time… Time that he’d deliberately made available for Egan to spend with Wind so that the Alpha could calm their mate down and make an attempt to get him to shift back. Dancer didn’t think he’d shift back, though. Especially after hearing the results of the pack trying to make amends… Wind kept yelping and whimpering each time a member of the pack started to approach him and only Egan kept the adorable wolf from diving under the nearest bed…

As for the trip to Sanctuary, they were lucky that Dancer was a mage or they’d never get everything and everyone shifted over in time. As it was, he was going to be pushing his own abilities to accomplish it all. He didn’t say that, though. He was also very grateful that Wind was distracting Egan from noticing that Dancer was nervous about using that much magic. Especially since Dancer still wasn’t too certain about his control. As it was, he was also going to taking the silver-laced bracers. Just in case…

Darkness slowly wafted from underneath the doorway that separated Ohvan from the others, dissipating into whispy trails of nothingness. Try as he might, Ohvan could not move: his body no longer his to command. The mating session with Egan, Dancer and wind had pushed his body to its limits, burning away the excess energy that fueled his heat and leaving him worn and ragged. His body needed time to repair the damage done, to regain his strength and make him strong. His consciousness was beginning to fade as well, slowly robbing him of his thoughts and making him vulnerable. He could not cry for help, and he could feel his chest slowly stilling. It was a desperate attempt, but Ohvan used his mark to call out to his mates.

There were no words to the message, just a fading sensation to find Ohvan; he was weak and vulnerable. He needed them. And just as soon as the sensation came, it went. The Harvester let himself go, a unique process among his kind that allowed a Harvester's soul to retreat to their soul repository and rebuild themselves for when they healed and returned. There would no doubt be people who have been keeping an eye on him, enemies that would want his blood. They would come for him, and he needed Gypsy and Morrigan now more than ever.

Morrigan
While everyone else was distracted with getting packed up for the trip and trying to get Wind to calm down, Morrigan appeared a few feet away from Ohvan. She knew that she should be grabbing him and heading home immediately, but she was still struggling with her control after losing Bethany. Her wolf was still struggling to get out, though going after Blade was no longer its main concern. It could smell Bethany nearby and wanted to go lay next to her and feel like she was still there, even if it wouldn't be able to maintain the illusion for more than a few moments. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath to steady herself. "Thank you for stopping me from killing Blade," she stated quietly, knowing that Ohvan couldn't hear her but needing to say it. "I lost my sister, but there was no reason for Wind to lose his. Not when he just found out that she was alive. I just couldn't keep control long enough to think of that. I've never been so angry before. Feeling Bethany's last moments through our bond really sent me into a frenzy. I'm not sure if Wind will ever forgive me for hurting Blade the way I did." She sighed softly and moved to send him back to Sanctuary when she finally noticed that the pack house felt off. Everything had started to calm down, but the tension was still there. The building was too quiet for everything to be going normally. She wanted to check on things, but she didn't want to leave Ohvan alone right now. She felt Gypsy tell her that she was going to get Ohvan herself and let her know that she had already gone to get him but that something was wrong in the pack house. She stayed with Ohvan and waited for Gypsy to show up. She didn't want to go out and possibly see Bethany's body, but she needed to see what was going on. She needed to check on Shadow and see how her niece was dealing with Bethany's death.

Egan Savage
Egan eventually got tired of seeing Wind yelp when any of the pack members got near him and simply picked the adorable wolf up. He held up a hand to stop anyone else from getting close. "We know that what you did wasn't your faults, but all of this has brought up some extremely painful and traumatic memories for my Mate," he said. "None of you are going to be able to get near him until I get him calmed down. Just go back to your duties and I'll let you all know when everything is back to normal so that you can apologize if you still want to." The pack members started to scatter as they went back to doing their jobs around the pack house.

Egan sighed in frustration and started to gently pet Wind, trying to get him to calm down. "You're okay, Wind," he spoke gently. "You're safe now. You can calm down. No one else is going to hurt you anymore. I'm not going to put you down until you want me to." He knew that he wasn't very likely to get his Mate to calm down enough to change back right now, but he needed to at least let Wind know that he was there for him.
