Physical Description: N'tut might be old but he had not allowed himself to be bent or broken by his age, and he till stands tall at 6'1. He is often mistaken fro a decade younger than he is. His hair is grey but somehow his eyebrows have stayed black making his glower that much more effective. The muscular form of his youth had also abandoned him and his wrinkles are deep around his eyes and mouth but he still makes an effort to maintain his health and vigor with daily exercise. N'tut is a practical man of practical mind and tough practical clothing. Though he always makes sure that he is well groomed and presentable.

Personality: N'tut is an old curmudgeon, he's long ago ran out of uses for other people in his life and has no patience for the failings of humanity. Children especially are unruly and annoying. The frequent target for his complaints over the failing of the younger generation. But N'tut doesn't want to be brought around to tolerance and acceptance of their antics because he enjoys complaining. In fact he has made it hobby to be an unwanted moral arbitrator for the weyr. Many a unfortunate wing leader has received his long and involved letters bemoaning the failings of one or all of their wing riders. it fills his time and gives him purpose in life.

He is also very much of the old ways of thinking. He almost had a heart attack the first time he saw a women on a brown dragon (blues he could just about handle but browns?!) He also doesn't like browns chasing queens and prefers candidates that were born and bred in the weyr rather than searched. But none of this is mean spirited, after all such norms and traditions have been present for hundreds of turns and tradition has to mean something. The ancestors knew what they were about, they need to be trusted. Deep down that is were his moral outrage comes from. He loves his weyr, is utterly and completely devoted to it and the dragon rider way of life. There is no more noble a goal than protecting pern from thread. He was always a true believer in the high reaches warnings that thread would return and he is happy to be alive to see them proved right and do what dragon men were born too do.

He might be too old to fight in the wings these days but he will do his bit, he often flys with the weyrlings to deliver Firestone or will still fly patrols and assist with ground crews when he can.

He is also a neat and orderly man, his weyr will be spotless, bed always made and clean. A place for everything and everything in it's place. Early to bed and early to rise, he lives his life by strict routine and order.

History: N'tut's life has been quite uneventful in the long run. He comes from a long line of riders, none significant in their time but just as dedicated to their weyr as N'tut. So even as a boy the blue rider had no doubt that he would impress, the thought of doing anything else with his life never even darkened the corners of his mind.

And indeed he turned out to be right. He impressed Freth the first time he stepped out onto the sands. The blue was one of the last to hatch that day on the sands but he knew exactly what he wanted. While he was a weyrling he was dedicated to his lessons and his new bonded partner but just as they made senior weyrlings a new group of dragons and riders came from the sands and they shared a few lessons with their older counter parts who were expected to help show them the ropes. N'tut was paired with an irritating and playful green rider by the name of Ta'sim. Ta'sim was everything that N'tut was not, a joker, a bit of a slacker but very popular with the rest of the young riders around them while N'tut was known to be a bit of a stick in the mud. But for some reason N'tut still doesn't understand Ta'sim liked him. He teased him constantly but it was never mean spirited and even with all his friends and admirers he wanted to spend time with N'tut. Even after N'tut left weyrling training to a fighting wing Ta'sim still found time to visit him and tease him, and drive him crazy.

It was a surprise to no one that when Ta'sims green Galbelath rose, Freth caught her. They were weyr mates from that day on. And though Ta'sim was always rather free with his affections, no other blue would catch Galbelath during her lifetime. Ta'sim also forced N'tut to be social and softened his hard edges. N'tut was always gentle and surprisingly forgiving of Ta'sim's affairs. Their love was firm.

Ta'sim was also self sacrificing and when one of the minor holds bonded to the weyr had a large out break of fever he was one of the first to volunteer to transport healers to the stricken hold. N'tuts wing was away at the time chasing down felines that were bothering a few of the local farms. By the time he got back, Ta'sim was feverish and in and out of consciousness. It was the only time N'tut railed against the weyr's leadership as he blamed them for sending Ta'sim on his mission and exposing him to the sickness. N'tut stayed by his bedside night and day, tending Ta'sim, hoping for a recovery.

Ta'sim died less than a seven day after the first symptoms appeared.

N'tut almost went mad with grief.It was only Freth that kept him in the world of the living. Instead he sequestered himself in his weyr for several months. When he emerged, he said nothing about his loss, but threw himself into his work until he retired a few turns later. His Freth has never risen to chase another green and N'tut seems determined to maintain his solitude. Even content with it.

Age: 71
Color: Blue
Size: 28'
Physical Description: Average for his size he is the phenotype for what his colour should be, not to big but well proportioned and agile in the air. Of course, with age he has slowed down and his reflexes have dulled which is the main reason it is unwise for him to fly thread.

Personality: Fredth is a very average blue, he's average length, average height, average weight. Nothing too flashy on his markings, And he is okay with that. He likes to nod to himself and think, yes, he is exactly what he should be. There is a comfort in that. like his rider he is a dragon that likes for everything to have its place and order to be established and kept.

He also has the same work ethic dedicated and determined in everything he does. He enjoys being useful to those dragons above him.And he can be a bit of a kiss a**, smoozing and flattering dragons in higher stations, especially the metallics. That has always been helpful as it often helps soothe any feathers ruffled by his riders gruff nature. Freth's flattery does not extend to other blues and greens who he considers on the same level, if not below him. He only had eyes for one green and she is gone. No others will even get a flicker of his affection. He would hate to think that anyone would think he was being disloyal, even though his weyrmate is passed.
