It's not real. It never was. - Evelyn and Cadence

Huroggmeten
Beneath the cascading branches of a willow tree stood a delicately-featured mare. Her coat was a dappled grey, and around her neck there lay a fine silver necklace. Her dream-filled lavender eyes were fixed upon the area where a patch of night sky was visible through the willow's leaves. Although she stared at it with an intensity that would have rivaled even a stallion's determined glare, she did not really see the night and the sky... the moon and the stars...

She saw a court of her own making.

The moon was the Queen, the stars her courtiers. A fool in the form of a shooting star rushed across the night sky, making the stars twinkle with laughter and the Queen laugh at her Jester. All wore flowing gowns of sparkling stardust, silver headpieces done up so elaborately that they shone with a light of their own.

Evelyn did not wish to be a part of this nightly court, nor did she wish to have courtiers of her own. Watching what she thought to be a fascinating world, gazing upon the lives of these celestial beings that she had infused with personalities, had placed in her heart a longing to simply see it.

On a certain level, she knew it wasn't possible... She didn't have the wings to fly up and greet them.

But even if she had wings, she would not find anything... for that was not a Queen, those were not courtiers, they were simply rocks and balls of flame.

With all her dreaming, she could hardly ever tell what was real anymore.

Cadance had been having trouble sleeping and so was wondering a little aways from the clarning to get some fresh air and settle his mind. He still wasn't quite used to his larger form and yet a self-assurance seemed to seep from him as he moved where as before he would stumble around. Almost gracefully the burgandy stallion picked his way out of the cover of the trees and he paused to look at the glittering rainment that surrounded him. Cadance wasn't quite sure he had seen such a cloudless night before and he blinked up at the bright shining specks, completely missing the silvery mare who stood quite close.

Huroggmeten
A flicker of movement caught the mare's wandering attention, drawing her away from her fantasy of Moon-Queens and night-courts. First her ears focused in on the source of the movement, then the eyes followed at a completely leisurely pace. Her gaze drifted from night sky to leaf to blade of grass and back to sky as she turned to look for whatever had moved on this silent night, and it was clear that she was in no hurry to find out what (if anything) it was.

Her mind rushed forwards to examine what her eyes had found, and in that brief moment those lavender eyes seemed to glow iridescently. 'It' was a stallion of burgundy coloration, luxurious curls that one would expect to find more often on a mare framing his face. Then the glow in Evelyn's eyes faded, receding once more as her mind turned inwards... leaving her body to interact with this new Soquili.

"... Hello..." Her voice was a whisper that broke the silence of this calm night.

Amirynth

He blinked silently, wondering if she had been there before or if he had not noticed her arrival. A few moments passed by before he even though to answer the greeting with one of his own and the burgandy stallion stepped forward with a small bow and wispered back not wanting to break the stillness of the night. "Good evening..." Cadance moved a few steps closer so he could see her better and so that they could converse with low voices to preserve the tranquility.

Huroggmeten
A soft smile lit her features; she was pleased that he understood the reason for whispering. The night was not a time for rushing wildly through pastures and kicking one's heels up in streams... but for quiet contemplating, broken only by snippets of conversation here and there. The silence of Evelyn's nights had not been broken for far too long.

"It is indeed." she eased herself into the conversation, going back to a time when she was often faced with inquiring minds that needed to be spoken to. "... Though when, as of late, has the night not been pleasing?" Her eyes twinkled like the stars above; the mind had been forced to return to the body, for she could not converse much longer then a few seconds when her mind was elsewhere.

"... I am called Evelyn." It was an open invitation to stay; had she chosen not to give her name, or perhaps turned back to the stars, it would be understood that she did not wish to be disturbed beyond a simple Hello... but she did not mind, and so gave the kindling spark that would beget the fire of conversation.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Cadance cocked an ear towards her before replying in a quiet tone. "Evelyn is a pretty name, Eve... like the night before it seems into complete darkness." He gazed over her silverly fur and admired how it shines like the stars that glittered above them. "You look as if you belong with them up there." he guestured towards the heavens above that twinkled like diamonds in a velvet blanket with his nose. "My name is Cadance, it is a pleasure to meet you."

Huroggmeten
Her mouth tilted upwards in what could be mistaken for a smile. "Those who belong in the heavens are blessed with wings..." she looked wistfully upwards before her gaze became again earth-bound "... Cadance... cadence." Flowing rhythm, measured balance... a dance. Evelyn's eyes again traced the rosey hue of his coat mixed with cream, the flowing waves of melted chocolate that posed as hair, the tasteful flowers... yes, his name fit him well. "The pleasure is all mine..."

Amirynth

He recognized that wistful longing as he had felt the same wish engulf his body as he watched the geese take flight when he was much younger. With a small sigh he gazed at the sparkling heavens above and then back down towards her shimmering hide. "I don't believe even the strongest wings could carry one who wasn't meant to join the stars. There is always a way for those who keep their dreams within their hearts." In some respects the words his mother had told him seemed to fit though he knew now he had grown up that it was not always true.

Huroggmeten
"Yes... there is no wind in all of these lands that could carry a wingless body." The corners of her lips curved into a smile once more, as the wisdom that seemed to come from another source left his mouth. It was a nice thought, but... "If the dream remains in the heart, then how does the mind know that there is the need to work to fulfill that dream?" Letting fate take you was fine if one was a storybook character, but for the real world... fate often overlooked those who did not work to fulfill their own desires.

Amirynth

Though they were often of more dire dreams than of his flights of fantasy. As a foal he had dreamed of many things and the fear of the unknown was just as strong as the desire to lift himself above the clouds. "I am sure there is a way. Maybe one day there will be some way for ones who have wings to share the skies with one who has not." He had heard of stories from one of his herdmates of beings that could grant wishes if you asked them right, though those same wishes usually came at a great price. Cadance gazed over towards the silvery mare and smiled lightly at her own.

Huroggmeten
The response she would have made died on her lips, chased away by the stars hurtling down to the land below.

Her gaze was transfixed by the celestial wonder, tracing the path of every shimmering speck as it was slowly consumed by the power of the Earth's atmosphere. Having no knowledge of outer space beyond that which she had gleaned by hours upon hours of observation, she did not know what they were. She only knew that they were beautiful...

"Neither have I." Her soft lavender eyes danced merrily, filled with wonder. What were they?

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Cadance didn't know but he did remember about a story that Dayunsi had once told him. Something about a princess who lived in the heavens and watched over the people on earth. One day she had been saddened to see a young girls plight and had wept tears that the girl found and then managed to gain her hearts desire. "Maybe they are the tears of angels..." He could remember that the falling lights usually meant good luck or maybe could grant wishes. "We should find out where they landed. There might be something special for us." The striped stallion looked towards where he thought the stars had fallen. He was curious to see what they might see when they reached their destination.

It's not real. It never was. - Evelyn and Cadence (part 2)

Huroggmeten
His words had created an intense curiosity in her. The subtle mysteries of the universe had always piqued her interest, but when myths and legends entwined with reality showed themselves her mind become completely ensnared. The tears of angels... she could not have dreamed something more poetic.

Her gaze flashed towards him, alight with interest. "Might we?" Evelyn looked as though she expected him to grant permission, as though it had been he who had discovered the mystery to Life and Death and she a simple pauper wishing to gaze upon the ethereal wonders.

Oh, what a night this could turn out to be!

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "I think it's a wonderful idea!" In his excitement he had forgotten to keep his voice low but then maybe she wouldn't mind it for that one little slip. After scanning the horizon for any more falling specks of light, the burgundy stallion picked up his hooves and trotted in the direction of where he though the star had fallen. He hoped they would find something as he was sure that maybe this would be the greatest discovery ever. "Would you like to go streight as best we can or head for those mountains?" He wondered which would be the best route.

Huroggmeten
Evelyn could barely contain her joy; what had begun as an ordinarily beautiful night was turning out to be quite unusual indeed. She did not even notice as his voice rose a few decibels, her mind entirely ensnared by the prospect of gazing upon the angel's tear.

She gazed out at the landscape, casting a quick an calculating look over the multitude of trees and other such obstacles. She then looked towards the area where the angel's tear had supposedly come to rest...

"It would be best if we were to head as straight as possible... weaving around lakes and trees, yes, but doing so would still allow us more speed then were we to travel up the mountains." She loved mountains with all their wonders, but at the moment she wished only to reach their destination.

She rose a single hoof off the ground slightly, a sign of readiness. Would they be off?

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Cadance nodded and set his sights towards the mountains. "Streight it is then. Lets see if we can find out if the legends are true." Even if they didn't find anything this was turning out to be quite an interesting night. He looked back up towards the skies before starting out in the direction they had decided. Luckily there was a small path they could follow for a while so he took that and started trotting down the cleared dirt. "Might want to keep an eye on where we go so we don't get lots though." Cadance nods before looking back to see if Evelyn was following him.

Huroggmeten
Evelyn set off after him at a smooth trot, closing the short distance quickly. She slowed to a more reasonable pace and began to walk sedately slightly behind him. The path, small as it was, did not quite provide enough room for the two Soquili to walk side by side; had such a thing been attempted, they would have been walking quite squished together.

"It should be quite easy to follow our hoofprints should we need to." There were always the troublesome winds to brush away the slight imprints left by their passing hooves, and of course others who might cross their path to confuse the markings in the soft dirt... but could they not simply turn around and head in the exact opposite direction once there? They need only keep track of what sorts of twists and turns they took in order to reach their destination.

The smile was now fixed upon her face, bearing both thoughtfulness and a great deal of hope.

Let their journey be not for nothing!

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Continuing down the path, the burgundy stallion admired the still glittering skies. The seemed to twinkle with secrets as if they knew what the two soquili would find when they reached their destination. But of course they would know, the secret they were searching for came from the stars. Cadance chuckled to himself before breaking the silence that had gathered. "So where do you live? In the mountains or in the valley?" He was curious to know more about this shining mare, especially now they were on an exploration together.

Huroggmeten
Evelyn followed along behind him, content. Their light conversation seemed to pose no threat to the stillness of the night, their voices (though slightly louder then they had been before) not seeming to pierce the night air. "I suppose I have no real home..." She turned this thought over in her mind, trying to find some way to give him the answer he sought. She was forever wandering, forever seeking new places... but... "No matter how far my travels take me, I tend to return to a small lake with a grove of willow trees." She smiled, the thought of the glistening lake and the whispering willows carrying pleasant tones. "And you?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "I know quite a few people who are partial to Willow trees. We live near one too, it's on the edge of the clearing. I used to think it was a huge doorway to another world. It is interesting how views change when we grow up." Cadance grew silent for a moment before adding, "Oh, we live in the forest near by. It has a nice clearing with a little bit of sky so we can watch the stars at night. It also has a nice sheltered spot that the two-legger made that we can stand under if it get's too wet." Cadance wasn't really a fan of the rain. They came up towards a fork in the path they had been following, one seemed to veer off to the left and wander towards a corps of trees while the other veered off to the right and then seemed like it curved in upon itself. The scrub in front of them looked like it could be waded through but that would definatly be the harder of the three choices. Cadance regarded both paths for a moment before staring towards the mountains in the distance. "Which way do you think we should go?"

Huroggmeten
Oh, how true his words were... As she grew, so did her view of the world, and her knowledge of suffering. Her innocent view of the world, the same that most foals untouched by evil held, was changed into the simplistic understanding of one who has seen far too much to be so naive...

His home sounded comfortable, easily suited to being trampled by the excited hooves of young foals and it's year-round inhabitants.

She blinked, craning her neck slightly to peer about his stallion-sized form. Her gaze fell upon each path in turn.

"Following the scrub would prove to be the straightest path." She gave little thought to the possible dangers of wadding through the tall grass. The other two paths might veer off-course, heading into territory far from their destination. Much time could be lost in returning to this point, and choosing another course...

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "You may be right," Cadance looked back to smile upon the silvery mare who followed him. "We should be careful where we step; it's quite dark and there could be rabbit holes." For a fleeting moment, Cadance was reminded of his mother which made him chuckle. He took a step forward into the scrub and was thankful that is was not full of brambles. The long grasses tickled at his sides and he was reminded of a time as a foal that he had hidden in the grasses and failed when he sneezed. The memory almost brought a tickle to his nose but he snorted softly to help prevent a repeat occurrence.

Huroggmeten
It was as though he had heard her thoughts. She brushed aside the momentary bafflement, finding comfort in the fact that and intelligent Soquili had no need to read minds, for any with a small measure of forethought could realize the dangers of the land.

She fixed her gaze upon the ground, carefully stepping into the tracks Cadance had left.

Evelyn looked up as he chuckled, her gaze fixes on his haunches, a smile itching at the corners of her lips. What cause had he for amusement...? Perhaps he was pondering what they would find, upon arriving at their distant destination?

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Maybe not mind reading, but definitely two spirits entwined together on the same path for that singular moment. Cadance broke the silence that had fallen over them. “What are you hoping to find when we reach the star?” The burgundy stallion was curious to know what she was thinking. He stepped carefully ahead, testing the ground before him. Cadance slowed his pace when he came across new terrain not wanting to get into trouble. The land had become quite steep, their travels making a sharp downward turn. Though it was getting slightly more perilous the way was still okay to move upon, a faint sloshing sound coming to them in the distance.

Huroggmeten
Evelyn allowed herself a small sigh of relief. She would have hated for the stallion to get stuck.

"Alright." He had already made it across, and she was not about to make him come all the way back. To do so would be folly. Why not cross, if he proclaimed it safe?

She stepped into the river, shivering gently as the cool water touched her skin. She chose her path carefully, though wadded across with speed any predator would envy.

She stepped out beside him, her dappled grey coat shimmering as droplets of water rolled off it and fell to the ground.

"Shall we continue?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "First we probably should dry off a little." The stallion had spotted a few large rhubarb leaves close by and, remembering their uses from his growing up with Dayunsi, Cadance saw potential. Grabbing at a few with his teeth he gently rubbed them down her sides to make sure most of the water had been rubbed off her flanks. "It wouldn't do to catch a chill here, and the ground is too muddy to dry off on the grass." Usually he just rolled upon the ground until he was dry but the conditions just weren't right for that. After finishing making sure she was dry he dropped the leaves to the side and nodded. "Ok, lets continue on shall we?"

Dark and light - War and Rasui

-Polar-
User Image

A black and white mare hid in the shade of a cave near the base of the mountain. She was hiding not from someone, yet from something; the sun. The perfect shining orb was the only thing, except for the occasional birds, in the sky on the completely cloudless day. The rays were undoubtedly attracted to the mare's primarily ebony coat and as she had wondered over the meadows she had grown overheated and weary; she paused only to drink from a pond before seeking someplace cool to retreat to. The cave seemed to do nicely; the rock floor wasn't damp and it was rather refreshing and cool inside the cold wall. The mare stood there before making a circle and lying down upon the worn ground of the cave. In a way she wished she had some company to converse with; having her wolf companion absent certainly put a damper on her mood. The mare released a long sigh and her medium blue eyes stared out upon the land near the base of the mountain.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Rasui had been hunting for an illusive present for Imogen. She had been feeling down for a while, Rasui though it was because Cadance spent more time away from the clearing now-a-days and she was feeling lonely. He had heard from the troll that treasures were hidden in the caverns near by and though he didn't necissarily believe that Malis would give up a secret treasure location he did consider finding a small crystal or geode that might make her feel better. So it was lost in his own musings that Rasui stumbled upon another Soquili in one of the larger caves. After opening and closing his mouth in surprise for a moment he finally found his voice and stuttered out a small greeting.

-Polar-
The mare's medium blue eyes fell upon a stallion as his hooves echoed upon the cavern's walls as he entered. She looked at him curiously; never having seen him before. When he noticed her he stuttered before greeting her; already War found him somewhat amusing. She smiled politely and bowed her head to the stallion. "Good afternoon." She stated politely. "I'm sorry if my presence startled you." Her tone was light and she really did mean the stallion no harm. Her eyes scanned him; although he was somewhat in the shadows of the cave's opening and it was hard to take in his appearance. War stood up and moved closer to him, a small grin upon her face. She wanted to ask the stallion was he was doing yet she didn't want to be rude at all either. After thinking through a few possible questions she decided on one and spoke again. "How are you today?" War smiled as she tried to make conversation with the stallion.

Rasui tried to think of a way to make up running into her so obtusely. Where was his manners for one? Rasui opened his mouth again to apoligise once more when the black and white mare spoke. "Oh no... you didn't startle me, I mean you did but... I mean it was I who barged in on you..." He took a deep breath to try again when she asked how he was. Now this was a little more familiar territory. "I am doing well... I am looking... oh!" The purple stallion shook his head to clear his mind of all the mess and then made a small bow. "I am Rasui, it's a pleasure to meet you."

When Flowers Bloom - Imogen and Dayunsi

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Immi made her way through her garden of bright flowers. She paused at a deep blue flower and bent down to smell its pungent odor. Her mind wandered over the passing day. So many things had happened, but now a quiet time was upon the herd. While she was happy that Dayunsi had been located she still worried over why he had left. He had seemed quiet, almost morose when they had returned even if he had been thankful the troll had hunted him down. Malis, her large pregnant belly making her movements muted and heavy, was still sharp in sight and it was she who had discovered the lock of hair that had been torn away in his flight.

Malis Delnaria
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Dayunsi peered out through the trees towards the burgandy mare, his slight body hidden by the thick branches. He sighed softly as he sensed her thoughts and teetered between revealing himself and staying hidden for as long as he could. The sound of the brook nearby hid his footfalls as he took to the air and flew up to a branch of the willowtree that gave the glen it's name. He didn't know what to say even if she had seen him, the day's transgressions adding to the burdens he already felt upon his back. The flutter snorted softly in indecision.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The burgundy mare shook her head to dispell the thoughs that ran through them and set to work making sure her garden was still well tended. The stepping stones were the only places that wern't covered with floral colours and verdant leaves. The were kept cleared by the critters who lived in the trees surrounding her glade. It was then she heard the soft chuffing coming from the willow tree and Immi looked up to see Dayunsi in one of his smallest forms looking down at her. "Hello there," she murmured softly, not wanting to startle him. "It is nice of you to visit. Do you wish to talk?" She waited for him to take the first step.

Malis Delnaria
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. At first he wanted to just shake his head and disapear, not liking confrontations, but then he gathered up his courage and fluttered down. Alighting on the ground with a small sound he grew until he was around the size of a small foal and then looked around at the flowers surrounding them. Anything to keep from looking towards her. Dayunsi knew what she wanted to know, and part of him wanted to say it. But he didn't know what her reaction would be and that stopped him. He didn't want to admit he was terrified of open places. The groundless fear he would be picked up as pray. He believed it was weak of him and for all his wisdom he was afraid it would make him lesser in the others' eyes.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. When he didn't answer she frowned. Immi could see that he was trying to avoid her and wondered why. The had spent many good times chatting in the glad before but this seemed different. Was it to do with what had happened or was it something else? Coming close to the earthy flutter she reached down and nuzzled his side. She wanted him to know that they were all in this together and, though a few of the herd had funny ways of showing it, they all enjoyed each other's company. "If you don't want to talk, that's ok... I just want to make sure you are ok."

Malis Delnaria
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Dayunsi didn't know what he was, if he was ok why did he feel this way? He looked up towards Imogen as she came close and nuzzled him, unconsciously leaning towards her and gaining strength from her care. Taking a deep breath he decided to speak... to just let it flow and hope that by the end of it he wouldn't loose her. "I... No, I'm not ok. I ran, I didn't know what to do when you said..." He paused and tried again. "I felt lost, I needed to find something but I didn't know what it was. When I left the woods... I didn't expect it to be so... wide." The flutter closed his eyes remembering the shock of the expansive fields he had seen beyond the safety of the forests shadows.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. What had she said that had unnerved him so? Imogen's brow furrowed as she tried to remember. The conversation they had that evening seemed normal, they had been talking about Rasui and his apparent lack of fear. Or was it more his tendency to have a new lady interest every week? She shook his head doubting that had anything to do with it. She had asked him how the newest addition, Suiseiseki, had been doing. The childish mare had caused some strife when she joined but had mellowed out some though she was still capable of some bursts of selfishness. Immi knew that Dayunsi hadn't taken a liking to her at first and didn't blame him. "Go on..." she realized he had stopped in his story and nuzzled his tangled hair to help him keep talking.

Malis Delnaria
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The flutter's mane looked a mess since his misfortunate journey and resulting chase. Most of the flowers and vines that were braided in to his green locks were gone, only a few leaves were left. A large crape on his back was luckily the only wound that showed and it had already been taken care of by Rynth using the mosses that the flutter had gathered himself. He shuddered a little when she got close to the gash but managed to continue. "I almost didn't make it when that feline..." The mad flight of trying to get away from those claws had haunted him.

He took longer to shift sizes than pure flutters and by then the large cat had a good hold. Even his horn was no match at his smaller size and he was easy pray. When he finally had grown large enough to fight back he was already pretty badly wounded. It was the final bolting away from the scene that ended dislodging the hunting cougar from his back but his wings hung useless as the fire in his back was to great. Dayunsi took another deep breath to calm his nerves. "I managed to get away finally but I had gotten lost. I had found a cave... it didn't seem to be occupied for which I was thankful..." Lost and alone the uni-flutter had spent a fitful night, already missing from the herd for two days. It would be another few days before they would find him.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Immi nickered softly as listened to what the flutter had been through. She remembered the worry that had spread throughout the herd when he never returned. The odd dream that Rasui had dreamed and the resulting commentary by Suiseiseki that had sparked the search. it was a pitty they didn't get along, Rasui and Suisei made a great team together, both of them having an afinity with dreams. Though it was Malis who had found him. Though the troll had said she had asked the spirits for help, Imogen was sure it was her skills in tracking which was the key to hunting down Dayunsi. Rynth was a good healer, gently taking care of the uni until he could take care of himself which made Imogen feel kind of useless as she didn't do much to help his return. The burgandy mare hoped that she was helping him now but had that nagging feeling in the back of her mind. What if his flight from the forest was her fault?

Malis Delnaria
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Dayunsi sighed and leaned against the burgandy mare. He could sense her discomfort and for a fleeting moment wanted to comfort her and let her know things were ok, that nothing was her fault. The flutter ached to tell Immi how he felt but then he could have to explain everything and after what she had said... Dayunsi remembered the conversation, he recalled how she had wished she could see more of Tohopka and Juliet. They had been talking about the other soquili they had met, the different people and about connecting with others. He had been about to ask her something important when she had blurted about him and Absinthe. Immi had wondered why he didn't stick with her.

"I mean, you are both flutters. You two would work well together, you're of the same type..."

The words, simple and innocent in their spoken way, still haunted him. He tried not to let it show, surely Imogen had not meant it that way? If she had, then why would she spend time with him at all? He had though back over all the other soquili she had made friends with and they all were regular, no winds, no other flutters... Malis was the only odd one and she was more odd on the inside than the out. Some how in the dark of that night her words had sounded a little more hollow, a little more vengeful.

As if his hooves moved of their own violation, Dayunsi began to shift away, slowly making his way towards the outskirts of the glade. He suddenly didn't feel welcome anymore...

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The burgandy mare spoke as she sensed his weight shift away from her. "Look Day, I know you don't want to talk about it but something happened last time we talked. I said something that must have hurt you, or mabe I did something to make you run. Sometimes words can't explain what is the matter but the unspoken thoughts show in the way you are acting around me now. I want to know what it was. What did I say that was so bad that you can't be around me anymore?" Imogen's eyes glistened as a deep pain welled up within. She didn't want to think about what the glade would feel like if he never came back. She would see the fluttercorn in the evenings at the teepee but this had become a special place for Dayunsi and herself. It would feel so empty without him. Immi noticed him start to trot away and took a few steps forward. "Please don't go... I couldn't bear it if you left like this. I care for you too much to see you leave so upset. Please Day... I love you." She shocked herself at the sudden outburst and took a few steps back.

But it was true.

While she cared deeply for the rest of the herd, it was the thoughtful fluttercorn who she spent most of her days with. Her feelings for him went deeper than just friendship.

"But what about Tohopka? Wouldn't you prefer to be with him?" Dayunsi turned to face Immi, his wings fluttering slightly as if he was shivering, or was it the soft gusts of wind? "If you loved me, why would she say I would be better with another flutter? Am I not good enough to be with you? Is it because I choose to be smaller? Is it because I am different? Because I am not a regular, a halfbreed no less... one who doesn't fit with either Unicorns or Flutters?" He felt tears p***k at the corner of his eyes and stomped his hoof to try and keep the tempest of emotions under control. He wanted to run again but this time the more recent fear of the larger cats was greater. He shook his head, the flowerless green locks falling over his face. The fluttercorn felt like a cork in the middle of a raging storm, being tossed and turned from either side.

Amirynth

She didn't want him leaving the glade for she feared he would be lost forever. "I never meant you were not good enough, Dayunsi. You are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen, your nature is caring and sweet and I have never see you think of a bad though about anyone." There were tears running down her cheeks as she spoke. "Dayunsi, I like you because you are different, I only though you did not like me the same way before I am so plain." She looked down at her own 'normal' body and sighed, letting go the tumbled mess that was making her stomach sink to the ground. "You are special, you're 'halfbreed' status only makes you even more unique. I am sure you could find anyone you wished and so I didn't want to tie you down. I..." Imogen paused and hung her head again. "I'm sorry I suggested that you would be better with Absynth but I would have preferred you to be happy with her than alone thinking that no one would have you." Everything seemed to be coming out wrong and she hoped that maybe there was a chance he would at least forgive her and they could be come friend. She didn't even dare hope that he would share her feeling.

Malis Delnaria

Did she really say those things so that he wouldn't be 'stuck with her' as she so aptly put it? He wanted to speak, to tell her how he felt but the words just wouldn't come. Instead he tried something else. "I would give anything to be 'stuck with you' Immi. You are such a sweet mare and I lo... I love... spending time with you. I just didn't want to come between you and Tohopka." Dayunsi moved closer to the burgandy mare, growing larger with every step until he could reach over her shoulder and comfort her. "I... I care about you too Sweet Immi... I always want to be there if you ever need me." The fluttercorn nuzzeled her neck and smelt the sweet fracrence of the crushed blossoms between them. "I never wanted to hurt you and I hope that we'd... that we'd always be friends." The tide still rages within but the flowery stallion finally felt like he was on the right bearings, with Immi as his lighthouse on the rocks.

How could the feeling of the glade change so quickly, it had been full of loss and fear just a few moments ago. But she did feel the change sweep over them as if the breaking of chains suddenly made them free. Something so hurtful as unspoken words and mistaken meanings almost cost them the thing they both held so dear. She leaned against his larger frame, for a fleeting moment unsettled as she was more used to his smaller stature. The burgundy mare knew it was only a step in the right direction but there was something so special about this moment of togetherness that she didn't want to end.

He could feel the vestiges of strength rise within his bones and he unconsciously stood up taller. "I want to protect you and take care of you."While he wished he could tell her more, at present he was happy enough to be there for her as a friend. One day he would have the chance to express how deep his love and devotion was but even if it was a lone way off he would be able to stay be her side until then. "Thank you Immi for being my friend. It feels like a dream in which all the shadows have suddenly been lifted and the sun has come out."

She felt the life breath through the trees, for a moment connected with the entire world. A deeper feeling of warmth bubbled up and she felt she had to imortalize the emotions of the occasion.
Like petals fall
When love doth spoken
The butterfly soars free
And Garden be open

Sighing she leaned up against her companion and friend for such a long time. Life would be calling soon with duties and responsibilities but for now she wanted this moment of togetherness to last just that little bit longer.

He felt a little chagrined at that moment for deciding something without asking her first and tried to correct his thought. "That is if you wanted more little ones... I would love to father your children but if Cadance was the only one you ever wanted to take care of, I'd understand." He decided to leave it up to her, not wanting to impress his wishes on her .

"I would want nothing more than to have children with you and share with you the joys of being a parent." The burgandy mare sighed slightly as she closed her eyes and leaned up against him. Yes... this would be a beautiful thing, she felt like her soul had finally come to rest.

OOC: Out of Baskets! - Tai'jin and Eponine

Amirynth

Malis: *glows with pride* Of course they be adorable! They be havin' mah good looks heart

Tai'jin: Weeee!!! *zooms around on prancing hooves before stalking her brother's tail*

`raze
Cosette: -Watches her two foals try to stand, but then her gaze lingers on the third basket- Slow hatcher? -Nudges it-
Marius: -Stares at Eponine, but hides his curiosity poorly. He watches how she doesn't get out of the basket, and in an attempt to show off steps out of his basket one hoof at a time. However, as soon as his first hoof touches the ground, and his knee buckles. He huffs and looks away, embarressed- .____.

Uta
Eponine: *Watches her black faced brother show her what to do, glancing down at her hooves and then the rim of the basket. See's Marius buckle but is completely oblivious to his embarrassment. Swishes her tail and decides to mimic him. . . slowly gets one hoof, than the other out of the basket, albeit a bit shakily before throwing Marius a radiant smile, all for him for helping her out* ^_^ *Stands there and waits, before peering behind to look at her hind legs. . . . finding them still in the basket and refusing to budge*

Amirynth
Tai'jin: *Skitters up to the other foal and attempts to sniff him from afar* Why ya be fallin' all over t' ground? *turns to the other who is half out of their basket* Umm... ya be forgettin' ya back legs *trying to be helpful*

Uta
Eponine: *Blinks as a stranger skitters up to her brother. Tilts her head curiously and shakily steps fully out of her basket. Swishes her tail and watches. . . . curious as to who this other one is. Gives a little grin, glancing back to find all four of her hooves free!* ^_^;; . . . .I . . I guess I did forget. *ducks her head a bit shyly*

Amirynth
Tai'jin: That be ok. Ya cann't be rememberin' everythin' Ya head will explode! *hops from one hoof to the other* So what be ya name? Malis-Mum says mah name be Tai'jin. It be t' name of the one who talk her sham-man-ism *spells out the word*

Uta

Eponine: *Listens to what the dark blue foal has to say, the baby-cogs of her baby-mind working as she tries to keep up with everything Tai'jin has to say! Isn't sure what a malismum is and surely, surely doesn't want her head to explode! Tries not to imagine what that would look like! Swishes her tail a bit and attempts to mimic the blue one's actions. . . failing and stumbling forward a bit to catch herself. Decides she'll just stand still for now* ^^; My name is Eponine, but it. . . It doesn't m-mean anything I . . . think. *Tilts her head and takes a few steps closer to the stranger, reaching out unstably to paw at him.* What. . . what is sh-sham-man-ism? *cautiously stutters out the word, hoping upon hope that her head won't explode because of it!*

Amirynth
Tai'jin: Ah... *ponders for a moment* Ah don't know... But ah be thinkin' it have t' be somethin' really nifty... Like gettin' out of t' baskets. Ah be thinkin' that be really nifty! *likes usuing the word nifty though she's not sure where she heared that from* Ah dunno... Malis-Mum says that ah be learnin' more about it when I get bigger. *Hops back and forth a few more times before standing still like Eponine* Ya think ah be bigger yet? *even as a foal she is already showing that she will grow as tall as her Mum and easily tower over most females*

Uta
Eponine: *Listens to the other filly, attempting to decipher her exotic and colourful accent without understanding what an accent is. Lets her gaze glaze over a bit as she mulls over sha-man-ism and what or how it is that getting out of a basket is. . . . it. . . . Never heard about it before she got out of her basket, but, then again, it appeared there was much she didn't know.

And maybe that was a good thing - again, she was reminded that her head was in eternal danger of exploding!

. . . oh dear.

Shakes her head a bit, drifting out of her reverie as she catches the tail end of Tai'jin's question. Gives another little grin and giggle as she slowly walks around the blue girl* Y-you're already b-bigger than . . than me. . . *she admits softly, voice hardly above a whisper. But Eponine doesn't mind the size difference. . . . her petite bones may yet grow. . . .

With a lot of time.

Amirynth
"Mwahahaha!" Tai'jin laughed out loud and pounced a nearby butterfly just to see if she could. She felt like a bundle of energy after being stuck in that cramped basket and wanted to run a long long way. But then there was so many intrequing things here. Like this Eponine-girl. She puzzled over how to pronounce that before shrugging. If she had to she'll figure something out. "Ah be all big and tall... Hay! Apples!" The troll-filly spotted the red globes as she looked up abover her head. They were unfortunatly just out of reach. An easy snag if she was an adult but almost impossible to get a hold of at present. "Shards!" She pondered butting her head against the trunk in case it would dislodge one or two but decided against it for the moment.

So what's my line? - Yaholo and Suiseiseki

demon_pachabel
User Image If there was only one-thing Yaholo knew, it was that he knew a lot of nothing. Frankly, he liked it that way. No confusing concepts, none of this 'oops babies' he'd heard about (how -did- one get babies anyways? He'd always wonder about it..), and none of the 'cootie mixing' he'd heard about either. Oh, it made his poor little child-like mind shudder on a level of 'woah' as well as wish he'd never heard it.

Never ever, ever. Even further away was the idea of 'experimenting' like someone he'd once met had suggested. As if he'd let anybody try that with him!

But then again, that might have been why, for once, he was bored, laying out in the grass with his orange-colored limbs sprawled out as far as he could reach them, so much farther now when he looked back on when he'd first actually noticed the space he could take up.

More room in the grass for him!

It wasn't like he was any shape or form of hidden, though.. and he was humming loudly enough to bring one of the plagues of -EYGPT- to him, if only to shut him up.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Suiseiseki was running full pelt from the forest, a branch full of strawberries in her mouth. She was looking behind her and almost didn't see the bright orange speedbump in her way until it was too late. Almost... "Eyah!" She jumped at the last second and sailed over him before turning on a hoof and stomping back. "What do you think you are doing laying right in the way?" She frowned down at the large stallion and a strawberry, dislodged by her exhertions, dropped off the branch cuasing more exclemations of infuriation.

demon_pachabel
Yaholo sort of flailed, the same way one would jump when snuck up on and surprised, when the mare went sailing over him, heaving his weight to one side and giving her a stern stare, accompanied by a pout.

"In the -way-?" he spat back, obviously miffed at, apparently, having had the opportunity to have been -trampled- by this stranger and now she was getting after -him-! Shifting again to get his footing in order to stand, he then stood up, trying to be as imposing over her as possible, if only because apparently that's what boys were supposed to do: Be taller then girls.

Or something like that. His mother had explained it once.

"What do you think you're doing ...um................" he trailed off and seemed to grow puzzled for a moment, before finally going; ".. What -are- you doing?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The mare glared up at him and attempted to talk around the strawberries. "Yes! You were in the way and now I'm loosing my berries!" She reolled her eyes at him as another red jewel fell to the grass that had shortly been squished under the stallion. She was shorter then the average mare thus it didn't take much to tower over her. She didn't feel like mentioning that she might have been followed by someone who owned the strawberries that she had borrowed perminantly. It was more important at that moment in time to deal with the speed bump she had picked up and get on her merry way scot-free. She glanced over towards the way she had come for a quick moment just in case.

demon_pachabel
"Your berries?" he parroted back in a confused tone, watching as some of the red fruit dropped from the branch she held and down to the ground, making a sort of a face akin to 'oops' when he realized he'd stepped on one of them while he'd been talking and mumbling a sort of a "sorry" upon this realization.

Out of curiousity when she looked back from the way she'd come, he too glanced in that direction, still looking as confused as -all- before looking back to her, pondering why she was acting so suspicious.

Maybe she was playing a game! or something. Well, she probably wasn't. He'd come to learn that girls didn't really play games.

"How many have you lost 'cause of me?" he asked, sort of backing away from her to look and see if he could count them up himself. But he wasn't exactly the -best- with numbers, not really having a reason to care for them, before looking back up to her. "'cause I'll go find some for you to make up for them."

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "AHHHHH!!!" Suiseiseki almost squealed when she saw him step on one of her sweet tasteing berries. How dare he be so clumsy and squish her precious treasures! She was about to chide him and opened her mouth before he mentioned about helping her find more. Ahhh... now this was an excellent way to gain more without having to do a thing. Aflicting a trembling voice that was lined with anguish she almost looked like she was about to be in tears. "My beautiful precious berries, oh if you do find more I would be so thankful... They were a present from a dear friend and she promiced they would be the sweetest ever." Quickly she hatched a plan. With Immi looking for her, they would never expect him to go in and raid the rest of the strawberry patch. She might even get double than what she had already taken if he was good enough!

demon_pachabel
Hearing what she said about the origin of the berries made Yaholo feel even more guilty than he had before, turning his head from her to look towards where she'd come from, nodding in that direction thoughtfully. "Should I just go that way, or what...?" he asked, seeming genuinely curious as to what direction he should start off in to make up for the lost strawberries.

Yes, he had -no- idea that there was an evil-plot being hatched up to use him for whatever foul purpose. She just seemed so innocent that he didn't really suspect such a thing, despite his distrust in the female-species. But he expected so much more from them to actually wonder about this.

Not to mention she wasn't -talking- like other girls did and actually sounded like she -appreciated- that offer, so yeah.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Yes, that direction is the patch but it can be hard to find if you are not familiar with the area." Suiseiseki's eyes gleamed as she outlined her plan in her mind. This would be brilliant! "If you head over in this direction instead you'll find a small path which will lead you directly there." She cocked her head to the side and kept her eyes large and winsome. "I would be so happy if you replaced them and if you meet a burgandy mare just let her know that you had heard about her delicious strawberries and I am sure she will let you have plenty." Almost as an after thought she added, "Oh and if you get enough for both of us we could share."

Adventuring we go! - Tai'jin and Nayeli

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Waaahooo!!! Freedom! Tai'jin had managed to give her mother the slip and it was time for a Grand Adventure of Legend Proportions. The little troll-kid skittered her way do the path that seperated their small clearing from the large outside world. She had heard of so many different interesting things that were out there and Tai had decided to find every single one she could. First on her list was a few caves that supposedly had paintings inside them. The blue foal headed off in a direction that she hoped was correct.

"Hey, wait! Come back!"

Trotting hurriedly after the little creature running away, the little unicorn filly looked concerned, wondering what had driven the little guy away. She'd just been wanting to play with him! Why'd he have to go? The little creature scurried off the small beaten path and into the treeline and Nayeli quickly followed, intent on figuring out why he wouldn't play.

Had it been something she'd said? Or maybe it was afraid because she was bigger than him? Oh, dear, she couldn't help that. Maybe it was a misunderstanding? Oh...! She'd just have to ask him what was wrong and he certainly wasn't making it easier for her!

Like her mother she wan't the Worlds Best Singer, in fact she could have tried for Worlds Worst and might have made it, but she didn't care and singing was the best way to pass the time away. It was the sight of the black uni that caused the words to die from her lips. What was that wiers foal doing? She had a tusk comming right out of her head! Tai'jin didn't even think about Dayunsi who was also a uni as his was much smaller and was usually surrounded by volumes of mane. This youngling's was quite noticable and she was heading right towards her! Tai'jin skipped off to the side so she could pounce first, not realizing that the tree she was behind bearly even covered half her body.

Who are you? - Dr. Who and Kin-Sora

Whould have ever thought he would see the sun setting from this side of the world. Not that he ever wondered that he wouldn't, but there had been times he wondered if he would ever get around to it. There was always something else to see, it had taken him so long... and that didn't even include the time of that boat. Cheerfully he picked his way down off the large rock he had climbed to see the sights and then gazed at all the unfamiliar soquili who milled about. Unfamiliar not for long! The Doctor made his way down on his quest to meet everybody and anybody he could.

A gorgeous way to end a gorgeous day. Kin-Sora stood amongst a few other Soquili, whose names she didn't know. Standing at her side, as he always did, was the small pony, Ellessar. Quickly as he had come to her side, he left to head back into the mountains for the evening. The small stallion's belly was quick to fill once his mouth got chewing, but the mare took her sweet time.

The Doctor reguarded the grass as if it would bite back at him before cowering it with his gaze. As soon as he was sure there would be no attack from the green-stuff he reached back down and took a bite. It was actually pretty good which prompted another nibble or two as he gradually worked his way towards his target. Continuing close he nosed her with his own as she was nibbeling on the green blades before pulling up and away with an expression of alarm. "Oh dear, I am sorry. Did not see where I was going, beautiful sky isn't it. Quite complements the taste of the grass dont you think?" He paused and stared at her waiting for an answer.

Apples = Good, Grass = Bad - Malis and Zei

Rita Zyon
User Image

The grass was dismal. He wanted a darn apple again, those were the best and he did deserve the very best. Did he not? But Zei had no idea where those blasted apples were located. His two-legger most likely knew where they were but how the heck was he supposed to converse with her anyhow? She wasn't a horse, talking to her would be pointless.

The grass it was, unfortunately so. He bent his head slowly once more to nibble on the grass. It was not so bad this time around but he would be as stubborn as long as he could, he was not admitting he actually liked grass. Who would, anyhow? He chewed thoughtfully staring straight ahead. He ruffled his wings, flying to find apples sounded like a wise idea to him.

He didn't mind if perhaps apples could be bad for him if he had too much of them, they were just that good. Zei forced himself to eat another bite and then finally another after that. Chew, swallow, chew, swallow. An endless cycle that he wanted to end now but he was hungry, so on it went. Darn this grass, why does this world need so much of it anyhow? He chewed.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Malis trotted into the large green field, looking around for something to perk her interest. Her daughter, Tai'jin, had gone off on an adventure so the troll decided to take the time to go on one herself. The problem with looking for adventure is you don't often find it until you least expect it. Malis eyed the black and gold stallion before deciding it was worth a shot. He looked like he needed to go on an adventure, and was at least handsome enough in looks that she wouldn't mind traveling around with him. Picking her way carefully through the lush grass, the blue mare grinned, her sharp tusk showing. Suddenly her demeanor changed as if she remembered something and her pace changed. Now she seemed like she was partially strutting, partially stalking towards him and Malis swung her hair in an enticing way, the gold bangles upon her dreads shining in the sunlight. "Why hello there. How ya be doin'?"

Rita Zyon
He looked up from the grass, raising his head slowly. He stared at the mare who was coming over to him. She was good looking, yes that was obvious. Ugh, as his eyes took in the fangs or tusks that the mare had. That wasn't so appealing to him. His head turned when she began strut. He rolled his eyes, though he would admit it was flattering to have a mare strut about. Because of him.

He chuckled to himself, shaking his head and bending his horse to nibble on some more grass. He watched her out of the corner of his eye, however. The gold in her hair was pleasant, he liked gold well enough. Zei smirked slightly, eating some more grass. He pulled his head up, what was he doing? He was eating the grass, and actually not minding it. The mare was distracting.

"Dreadful." He stared at the grass and then back at her. "The grass isn't that great." Zei eyed it again, distaste in his eyes. "Hello to you as well." He added. He didn't care to know how she was doing though, attention was better on him than on others afterall.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Malis chuckles and reached down to sniff at the dewy grass. It smelled ok... she decided to take a nibble. Chewing slowly she felt the crisp blades of grass crunch between her teeth. Well it wasn't Astranaar's sweet grass, though it wasn't the Barren's dry stuff either... "It not be poisoned if ya be thinkin' that." She took another bite, ripping the blades up with the side of her mouth as her tusk prevented her from getting close to the ground on her other side. "So what ya be preferin' if ya not one t' be wantin' grass?" Maybe this was the start of another Grand Adventure; The hunt for the greatest mid-afternoon snack!

Rita Zyon
Poisoned? Definately not. He was not stupid enough to think that of the grass, it just was not as good as other food. Zei eyed the mare as she ate, the tusk was strange. He stared at it once more, before staring at the grass again and bending his head down to eat some more. "Apples." He replied, chewing. It was, unfortunately still growing on him this grass.

Amirynth

She pointed out the land features with her nose as she mentioned them. The troll licked her lips as she thought of how good those apples tasted. "They be t' most sweetest apples ah be tastin' in a long time. Ah definitely thing ya be likin' them."

Shells! What do we have here? - Tai'jin and Prima

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Tai'jin had managed to round up a nice collection of golden shells and was trying to find a place to hide them so she could admire them in secret. Even thought she had picked up a lot of Kawani traits, much to her troll-mother's chargin, she did have her tribes addiction to the precious 'shinies'. Gleefully she trotted near the ocean, holding her hooves high so as to not get them too wet. The loose brown bag she had procured kept her treasures from prying eyes but she couldn't keep carrying it around, it would get in the way. Hopping out of the cold wanter and daintily shaking her forlocks dry, Tai'jin looked about, trying to decide where would make the best hiding place.

Sukkubus
User ImageThe waves crashed over one another in a frenzy to reach the shore, white spray hissing upwards in arcs as they collided. He should not have been so close as to enter the domain of the warring waves, but his curiosity had gotten the better of him. Kelpies could go on shore, this much he knew from simple observation (as Angathi could come and go as he pleased), but he was fettered to the ocean.

Not that he minded. As far as he was concerned, his kind was far superior to any other! But still, his naïveté craved sating, and so he had decided to wile his day away and watch the shore for some form of entertainment.

He spotted it in the filly wandering the shoreline. What was in that bag? He made a face and nickered, but the roar of the waves drowned out his call. How frustrating! He couldn’t go as close as he had wanted – wait.

There was a cove nearby. If she was particularly smart….

Getting as close as he could, Prima threw his body at the water with a tremendous splash (if only to catch her attention), and zipped through the water towards the end of the beach, where the spit of sand rose up in rocks. He only prayed she’d be curious enough to follow.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The troll foal's ear twitched at the wind that seemed to be calling for her. She payed it no notice for the moment, she had more pressing matters at hand. Shaking her head she glanced out towards the ocean as if to garner inspiration. Her eyes caught sight of the small cove but her mind didn't register it until something caught her attention. Something... about her size maybe? she couldn't tell... but something had just jumped out of the water with a splash. Intrigued she spotted the cove with new light as the creature seemed to make a beeline over to it. Now that was odd... usually fish stay away from the surface. Tai'jin decided to go investigate and then find a spot for her shells.

Sukkubus
Prima wriggled into the cove, apprehension growing when he realized just how clear and shallow the water was. Assuming the foal he called over was hostile, he’d be royally…sunk. But he was willing to take the chance – he was willing to risk himself for the chance of companionship.

The cove itself didn’t look particularly engaging if one were on the outside, but within burst sea flowers the color of abalone. Starfish clung like earthbound stars to the rocks, and coral and sea anemones dotted the sandy bottom like globs of stationary color. The little fishtailed colt circled the small space, finding refuge in a small patch of spotty sea grass. He didn’t necessarily blend in, but you couldn’t say he didn’t try.

He simply sat and waited.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Tai'jin entered the cove through a gap in one of the rocks. It looked like it had been split in two a long time ago, the sides weathered down with time. Squeezing through the tightest spot she found herself in a little inlet where the waves had trapped a pool of water that seemed to support an abundant quantity of sea-life. At first she couldn't see anything that looked like the creature she thought she had seen. The troll was starting to think that maybe she had imagined it. A few fish darted in and out of some sea-grasses and amongst the sea-flowers but none were big enough to be the monstrous fish she had seen. Placing her nose close to the water she sniffed at it and then jumped back as the cold salty water almost went up her nose. Shacking her head in disgust she almost made up her mind to go elsewhere, starting to turn away from the water.

Sukkubus
He watched as she wriggled into the cave, looking particularly surprise that she was his size. Sort of. Size can't be taken into account when you have two legs and a fish tail - but that was besides the point.

His mane prickled as the filly neared. It wasn't every day that he ran into someone his own age, or one that walked on land, for that matter. That little tooth of her was intimidating, too. Prima remained still as she came near the water, sniffed it, snorted.

The colt held in a laugh, cheeks puffing out.

"W-wait!" It reverberated off of the walls hugging the cove; high, crackling and sweet. There was a desperation there that only a foal could have. He quickly unfolded himself and swam forward, head rising from the water.

"Where y'goin'?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The troll stopped in her tracks. Something in the cave had spoken to her!!! For a brief moment she was about ready to get herself out of there but then she remembered what her mother had told her. Tai'jin definitely didn't want to explain to her Mum why she had ran off because something had scared her. Locking her knees, the troll turned back around and gaped, her tusks showing plain to see. At the moment they were quite small but they would grow to be a decent size. The weird fish thing she had seen was not only weird and fishy... but it was her size and looked almost horsey too. Tai'jin though she had seen everything but was now amazed to find out she hadn't seen everything yet. She closed her mouth and stared at the many coloured sea-foal-monster-thingy with bright red eyes. Tai'jin wasn't quite sure she had found her voice yet...

Sukkubus
Had he called her over just to be ogled at? Course not! He blew some errant strands of hair from his face, a fruitless task that did nothing as his forelock was plastered to his head. Prima looked the four-legger up and down in a pointedly analytical fashion, as though she were the strange one. And she was! Who could even LIVE without a tail?

"Jus' gonna stan' there showin' me y'gums, or y'gonna say hullo? 'Cause M'dryin' out here, lady!"

He kicked a fore hoof out and splashed the water at her, grinning in that antagonizing and cocky way of his. Though he felt shaken by her appearance, and questioned whether or not she could swim, it was better to try and find out than to stay hidden and never know. He ducked beneath the surface and blew a few impatient bubbles.

"Nice teeth - whatta'ya? A shark?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Ah be no shark! Ah be a troll... what are you? Ya be all fishy an' where ya legs?" As much as she could count, the difference between two and four was pretty obvious. She come back nearer to the water and peered at the other foal a little closer. Where her hind legs were, his merged into one and look like it ended up into a thick tail. It was his 'drying out' comment that decided it... he was definitely some kind of mutant fish. When he dissapeared under the water she lost track of him and yelled out. "An who are you to tellin' me off for not sayin' 'Hello' if ya gonna go an' swim off like that?" She stomped her hoof down and splashed water all over herself.

Sukkubus
Prima gave a petulant little snort and tossed his head, "Ain' gaht no legs! M'perfec' th'way Ah am! Whassa troll?"

A peal of laughter reverberated across the cove when the filly doused herself in water, and he kicked his legs out in merriment. He darted around the shallow pool, kicking up a salty spray with his tail as he went; he was being annoying just to be annoying, something he did very, very well.

"Ain' swimmin' off," he cried, when he broke the surface again, a mischievous grin overtaking his narrow face. "Yeh're jus' kin'a slow, I s'pose! I get bored a-waitin'!"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Ah be a troll!" She looked at him as if he was crazy for a moment. When he laughed at her she grumbled under her breath Why don't you come up here and say that to my face She didn't come to this cave to be berated and teased! "I'm not slow, I can run just as fast as any foal... even faster! Ah beat Eponine in a race once... an' she be bigger than me!" The troll foal snorted, flicking her tail in the air to get most of the water out of it. She didn't like being made fun of but at the same time was trying to be some what civil. She wasn't going to let this little fish-face get the best of her.

Sukkubus
"Whassa troll? N' whassa'n Eponine? - bet it ain' as fas' as me!"

The grin didn't waver, and Prima's eyes lit up in glee. He liked this funny four-legged thing! With a flick of his tail, he drifted nearer and tossed his head as though he were sniffing the air.

"What'cha doin' all th' way out here, anyhow?" he pressed, looking genuinely curious though the bangs plastered to his face made him look nothing but silly. "What were ya totin' around?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Man... maybe being in the water so long had meant this fishy-soquili had his brains leak out of his ear. "Ah be a troll, silly." She turned around in place and let the sea-colt get a good look at her, ending with a wide grin that showed off her tusks. While right now they wern't as impressive as her mothers they were still bigger than any of the tusks she had seen the non-troll foals had. "An' Eponine be a filly ah be meetin' a while ago. That be her name... Mine be Tai'jin" she added as an after thought, "What be yours?" She ignored the last two questions, she didn't want to let him into her findings, even if he might be able to find golden seashells better than her.

Sukkubus
Prima was duly impressed, of course! Tusks were things he only saw on passing walruses, and they looked quite silly compared to this foal. She was a real treat to behold! - could the others on shore possibly look like this?

"Ah kin imagine tho'ser be real useful fer bitin' thin's!" he said appraisingly. "Y'could be a real fighter!" He whinnied and kicked his legs a bit.

"M'Prima, which is shor' fer Primaveran! M'the bestest mer in all o' these here seven seas!" He jutted out his chest, pure machismo.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Mollified the troll strutted proudly, showing off her tusks a little better. "Mah mum says that t' be a good fighter ya gotta be ready at all times. Ah plan on being t' bestest fighter around. An' t' best runner... an t' best at everythin'!" The troll stomped her foot down and managed to splash herself once more. This time she was ready for it and didn't flinch. At the other foal's introduction she gave a polite bow and grinned once more. "Greetin' Pr-i-mah-verrrr-an... yeah ah be thinkin' I like Primah much better than Pr-i-mah-verrrr-an."

Sukkubus
"Lotsa people do, really," he said with a wrinkle of his nose. He quite liked his name, but it was a real disaster when it came time for introductions. It was more syllables than he had hooves to count on!

When she splashed herself next, he didn't laugh; she was a very confident foal, and he liked that. He lifted his head a tad, ears pressing forward.

"Guess we'll hav'ta duke it ou' one day, then! 'Less yer the best on lan', n' I kin be the bes' at sea!" He grinned, quite liking the idea. His head tilted thoughtfully. "I ain' got a mam, ye know! Only Angathi and he'sa...well, he'sa he."

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Ah guess ya can be t' best in t' sea as long as Ah be t' best on land." Tai'jin snorted and shook out her mane. She had the beginnings of a mohawk which Malis had said reminded her of Tai' father, Kifo. "So ya mean that An-ga-ti be ya father? What does he look like? Does he have a funny fish tail too?" She was curious to know as the filly was wondering whether the 'fish' thing was a single occurance or if there was a lot of fishy-horses out in the ocean. "An' what'cha wanna do now?" The troll foal wrinkled her nose, thinking hard. "Ah be looking for golden shells for mah Mum. Not that Ah be finding any yet." she added quickly, not wanting to show what she had found so far. "Maybe ya could find some for ya dad?"

Sun and sea - Cyrwrynn and Zuriel

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Cyrwrynn was swimming around enjoying the waves upon the surface. She hadn't come up here in quite a while and was re-experiencing surfing. The serpent slid herself along another gathering whitecap as it started to crest upon itself. Racing down towards the beach she laughed in delight before disappearing into the water head over tail and swirling back down to the depths for another round.

ramenli
Zuriel was rather bored with just about everything. He had grazed for a while just to pass the time but the kelp was no longer appetizing. He swam away, towards the surface, merely to see if there was anything interesting. As he got closer he saw a very peculiar sight. He stared as a grey mer with the rather odd tail as it left the surface swirled deeper into the water. Unable to sate his curiosity he swam closer.

"Excuse me, but what exactly are you doing?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. caught off guard, the serpent almost flipped the wrong way and would have ended up head first in a growth of kelp. Luckily she veered off to the side before any actual harm was done. "Whatta do ya mean 'What am I doing?' What's it look like?" She turned to spot the multi-coloured stallion and scrunched up her nose. "I'm surfing, that's what I'm doing." With a laugh she flung herself onto the next wave that had been coming in and rode it until the shallows before flipping back around and rejoining him. "See! It's an awful load of fun!"

ramenli
Zuriel waited a moment for his head to clear and watched the graceful serpent curiously. It did seem simple when she did it. At her encouragement he went up again and caught another wave. This time he flicked a tad bit earlier and made it all the way around, though he still scraped his tail against the sand it was a large improvement on his first attempt. He swam up to her grinning "I think I'm getting this!"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "There ya go!" Cyrwrynn cheered him on as she watched the mer swing around for the second time. Taking her place in time for the next wave she caught it at the last minute and sailed past him. Feeling the force of the wave pick her up, Cyr flicked her tail from side to side, adding to her speed. Racing forward, the serpent rode the white cap into shore and slipped off it. Cyrwrynn laughed as she came back towards the stallion, her heart beating fast with the exhilaration. "I could do this all day." She was very happy that the barrier had finally come down. The surface was a very interesting place to hang out.

ramenli
"I can see why!" He answered her, grinning. It was hard not not be uneffected by the good-natured cheer in the activity. He raced up to the surface to catch a wave. This wave was slightly larger than the others he had ridden and the rush he felt as he zoomed towards the shore was unlike anything else he had felt. He timed his exit and flipped back into the water. He approached the mare slowly, savoring the new sport. "So tell me Miss, can it get any better than this?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. ""Sure it can..." Cyrwrynn came back after another run where she had narrowly missed the beach, waiting too long before hopping off the wave. "One day you need to try surfing when there is a storm brewing. The waves start out so far from the sandy beach and they come rushing in all 'WHOOOSH! and stuff." She giggled as she remembered one time where she had almost been slammed against a rocky outcropping. "It can get pretty hair-raising and ya have to be careful but man... what a ride!" Cyr spun around in a circle energetically before deciding whether she wanted to go in again. "I'd do this all day if I could but there is food to be eaten... and sleep I guess."

ramenli
Zuriel thought for a moment. There are those kelp forests not too far, though I could hardly consider those all that tasty. Hm... "A little while that way" he pointed away from the shore "should be a decent grazing place. Its not the best but its pretty good, plenty of grasses there to choose from. The only problem is it'll take us a little bit to get there."

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Ooooooh! I like that idea, lets check it out!" Cyrwrynn swam in a circle before staring off in the direction he had pointed. In a moment she was back with a grin. "Hmmm, I think I shall let you lead, who knows how far it is really... And anyways we might come across a monster or something." The serpent coiled her tail around her and gave a look as if she was scared. "Though I think any monster would be afraid of you. You can be my knight in shining armor..." Cyr giggled before pausing in her thought. "But being the princess is boring... I'd much prefer to be the fire breathing dragon."

ramenli
Zuriel stared at her and then chuckled. "I doubt you would need much rescuing m'lady, I think you could take care of yourself." He smiled at her, "But I will try to defend you if a scary monster does come along." He because swimming in the direction that he had pointed in. "And to top it all off I don't even need armor to be shiny." He snorted to himself as the idea passed through his mind.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Extra shiny then? I mean what else is armor for?" Cyrwrynn pondered upon that as she followed his tail. Though spotting his tail she though about how different her's and his looked. He had a fin on the back of his and swam with a more up and down motion, like most whales and dolphins she had seen while she moved her whole body from side to side to press against the water. She wondered if that was because her tail was longer... and didn't have the fins that he did. Maybe he was just a different breed that her, she was sure she had normal looking parents though thank goodness she didn't have those four-legged parents like she had spotted on the surface one day, those were really weird. Lost in her musings she wasn't paying attention to where they were going and trusted him to take her the right way.

ramenli
Zuriel was trying his best to focus on the task at hand. This was definitely not the time to do something stupid, like get lost. "I'm not really sure, it seems like it would be uncomfortable." He fell into silence. This is the right way right? It seems like its taking a while... Relief flooded him as he saw a rocky outcropping that was a slightly unusual color so it stood out. "It should be just ahead now!" He was extremely pleased with himself, he hadn't made one of his usual silly blunders.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Lost in her thoughts, the serpent considered many things, the colour of the surface seemed to be different since the barrier had been taken down, the colours were a little bit brighter. That and the fish came up to the surface more often too... When the mer-stallion spoke, Cyrwrynn peered at him as if she had forgotten he was even there. "Huh? Oh! Yeah!" Swimming ahead, she looked around for the kelp forest but only saw the odd looking coal formation. "Ummm... where is it? Did we come to the right place?" She swam back and circled around him like an excited kid. "What if we did come to the right place but it was taken over by a vicious serpent?" Cyr's imagination could rival that of a child. "Maybe we should go check it out... it's our duty to the little fishes!"

ramenli
Zuriel starred at her, and his mind began whirling. What if there is a vicious serpent? Can I protect us? I've never been in a read fight! "I guess we should check it out, its right around that bend" He nodded in the direction of the odd formation. "Perhaps you should stay back a little just in case? I most certainly would not want a lady injured while she was with me."

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. “I can’t let you go in there by yourself.” Cyr swam up beside him and grinned. “What if he is very mean and ferocious, with big teeth and jaws that go like this!” she opened her mouth slowly before snapping it shut with a clack. The serpent let her imagination get the best of her and with sparkling eyes she described a large angry snake-like creature with large claws and lots of sharp teeth. “And he is all reddish copper all over…and can breath fire!” Not that could ever happen under the ocean. She coiled around him before letting go and then swimming over to the edge of the ridge. "Heloooooooo in there!"

ramenli
Zuriel stared at her with his mouth hanging open slightly as the vicious creature came to life in his mind. He wasn't exactly sure what fire was but he had heard rumors, and a beast that could breathe it would be terrifying indeed. He could almost feel it sliding across him before he realized that it was her, and then he found himself scrambling after her as she swam to the edge. "Is anyone here?!" He yelled as well, though he didn't see anything. It never hurt to be too careful.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The serpent looked over the edge before slipping into one of the crevices that littered the area. Letting her eyes adjust to the dark she let out a loud whinny to scare anything away. She had spotted something scoot out with the corner of her eyes and turned to look for it when the red thing stopped right in front of her face. "Hey! I found something!" She called out before the creature darted away. Coiling in on herself, Cyr tried to move fast but the creature was faster. She ended up above the reef with a bemused expression on her face. "Did you see where he went?" She spun around to see if he had swam behind her but not no avail.

ramenli
Zuriel started as he heard her whinny and dashed over towards the crevice that she had slipped into. His ears pricked forward She found something? He saw a blur leave near where she had disappeared. He swam towards it, curious. The creature, whatever it was, was fast.

"Its this way!" He called behind him, trying to at least keep it in sight. He focused, practically blocking out his surroundings as he determinedly moved towards it. I can't make a fool out of myself! I do it enough as is!

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Amirynth darted back and forth looking for the being who had claimed their attention. Hunger forgotten in her excitement, the serpent followed Zuriel as he called out locations. Turning quickly, it was her turn to spot the dark tipped tail as it darted through a break in the coral. "Here!" Cyr darted after, not really caring that the creature was a lot smaller than previously thought. She lost sight of it again until spotting the tail once more on the other side of a leafy coral. Pushing her head through she got a glimpse of orange before it's lithe form swam into a deep hole in the rock.

Sun and sea - Cyrwrynn and Zuriel (part 2)

ramenli
Zuriel went chasing after her as she caught sight of it. The creature had piqued his interest, and its speed was fantastic. As he wove in and out of the corals as best as he could he kept his eyes peeled for the flash of orange. As it entered the hole he sighed with frustration, he had been too late to stop it. He remained still, moving only enough to hold him in place.

"So what now? Do we wait for it to come out again? And do you have any idea what it was?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Hmmm... we could wait?" She stared at the hole before turning her back on it and swimming a short distance away. "I want to find out what this creature is. He made us chase him all over the reef so I want to know!" Her stubborn nature refused to let her let go of an idea as soon as it had taken hold. "If he is a cool monster, I want to keep him as a pet. What do ya think? Wouldn't that just be the coolest thing ever?" The serpent continued with her train of thought. "And then we can play monsters together and capture damsels in distress and terrorize neighborhoods!"

ramenli
Wait a minute...mares also want to find damsels in distress? I didn't know that! And hm...if... "Er Cyrwrynn...I don't think the damsel's would be in distress until you captured them...and even then you're nice so I don't know if they would be terrorized..." His voice trailed off...she had just told him that she wanted to do that and he had basically told her that he didn't think it was possible. He was mortified, trying to tell a lady that something she wanted was impossible! He mentally berated himself.

"Please ignore that! I think its a really good idea for us to wait! We can probably catch it soon and then you can begin your reign of terror!" As he threw himself into the plot he began to like it more and more. They had chased that creature all over the reef, that couldn't just go to waste.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Awww! You are so sweet!" Only catching the parts she wanted to hear his spazzing had translated to 'You are so nice, I don't know if they would be terrorized...' She suddenly turned on him and kissed him on the cheek. "But don'tcha know? Terrorizing is part of the fun, I am sure there plenty of people who would love to be terrorized!"
It was then the creature chose to come out, the little fox coloured otter thought he could make a break for it and would have almost made it if Cyr hadn't wrapped her tail around him at the last minute. "Ah hah! caught ya! Your mine now!" She hugged him tight as he tried to squirm away to no avail. "What should I call you or do you have a name?" She peered at him with questioning eyes.

ramenli
He stared at her. What had she just done? Having never been kissed before (even on the cheek) he found it a bit odd, but not unpleasant. It must just be a mer thing he decided, perhaps it was a thank you. Yes touching your lips to someone else must be a thank you. He tucked the information into a side corner of his brain.

Now that that was sorted out he turned to examine what she had caught. "What is it?" It was strange whatever it was. But cute in its own way. "I guess its you're newest subject/"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. “I don’t know. Maybe I could ask it?” She looked down at the furred being that was wrapped in her coils. The pale blue eyes stared back at her and made her giggle. “Soooo…” Cyr uttered, dragging it out. “Whooos aaare yoooou?” the serpent giggled again, curious to know what critter they had captured.
“I am Da’re,” the otter answered with a frustrated wiggle, “and if you could let me breath I would be much happier.” He attempted to push away but her tail held fast.
“Ooooh! It talks!” Cyr almost squealed with delight. “I’ve never had a talking pet before.” With a grin she showed Zuriel the fox-colored otter and then turned her attention back. “So what are you?”
The otter gave a pleading stare towards the mer stallion before answering. “I am an otter. Satisfied?” Will you let me go now?”

ramenli
Zuriel was just as curious at Cyr if not more so...but he did see the pleading stare. "Maybe you could loosen your tail just a bit so it can breath...but I wouldn't let it go yet...For some reason he looks like he wants to escape from you. I don't know why...I mean he's your pet, why would he want to leave?"

He looked a bit confused. He had no idea what it was. The word otter meant nothing to him, merely that was cute and seemed to be a water creature. It had for leg-ish things...like a land creature though.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Cyrwrynn laughed. “I’ll never let him go if he swims away.” She gave the otter a quick threatening glare before turning back to Zuriel. “Da’re meet Zuriel, Zuriel, Da’re.” She grinned again before letting the otter have a little space to breath. She truly thought that the otter would stick around.

And yet for all his trying to get away, for some reason he didn't. Da’re was a little tired of hanging around the reef, he was always getting lonely by himself… thought he wasn’t quite sure he had gotten a very good deal... He was going crazy, that had to be it.

The troll and the fish - Icarus & Tai'jin

kaliskanny
User Image

Icarus had decided to sun himself awhile on the bank of theriver. He'd flopped over on his side, his tail swaying lazily in the slow current of the river. He watched a few nearby squirrles chattering up in a tree, wondering what they were talking about.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Tai'jin needed a bath. She had just trecked through the mountain side, slid in a few mud wallows, and slogged through the marsh. It wasn't until the caking mud was flaking off her pelt that the troll decided that, while she had fun exploring the area, she wasn't sure she wanted to look like she had. Wading into the water, Tai'jin grinned as she felt the caked dirt rub off onto the reeds and bullrushes she pushed into. She wiggled further down into the tater, sighing as she felt herself being carried by the slow current. A few noisy squirrels nearby earned a glare from her deep red eyes. It was then she noticed the other blue stallion who seemed to be enjoying the river. After making sure she looked a little more presentable, the troll ambled over with a grin, her tusks gleaming white in the sun.

kaliskanny
Icarus hears the water moving, then glanced back to see who was there. His eyes widened slightly at the sight of a blue mare walking up to him. "Hi. Who're you?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Tai'jin stared in utter disbelief at the fishy stallion. Her bright red eyes widened before she made a face. "Who am I?.. Don't ya mean... What are you?" His tail wasn't the only odd thing about him. Large, fin-like wings rose from his back and she could see more fins adorning his legs. Moving closer to get a better look, Tai'jin admired the blue stallion's overall appearance. His oddness didn't look to bad, in fact, he was almost handsome. The troll already had a flare for the unique, her own visage was quite different from the normal mares around her.

kaliskanny
Icarus tilted his head at the mare, then looked himself over. "I'm just...a kelpi. Least, Father said so..."

He looked her over, since she was giving him the once over. Her hair stuck up odly, and were those...tusks? "What are you? I've seen winged and horned...but never tusked others before."

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Kelpi? I've not heard of that before. Ya be lookin' pretty nifty." Tai'jin flipped her mohawk and grinned again. "I'm, however, pretty rare. At least that be what mah Mum tells me. Ah think there be just mah brother an' parents here." She shook her head slightly as she realized she hadn't answered his question yet. "Ah mean Ah be a troll!" Standing up proudly, Tai grinned once more before making a small bow. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Kelpi. My name is Tai'jin, what be yours?" It was easy to tell by the time that her accent came and went through out the conversation. While she was a full troll, she had not grown up in Sen'jin village so had only picked up some of her parents speech mannerisms.

kaliskanny
"Thank you. You look nifty, too," Icarus smiled, looking her over. "My name's Icarus. Do you live near here?"

He looked around, as if trying to figure out where she came from. "Do your parents have tusks too?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Ah be livin' just across the meadows there yonder, in a small forest that has many interesting things t' discover. How about yourself? Do ya usually live in t' waters around here or go elsewhere to sleep?" Tai'jin found this male intriguing. He was different like herself but was also very nice and pleasant to talk to. At his other question she grinned thinking of what little she remembered about her father. "Oh yes, my Dad has huuuuuge tusks, so big he supports them wit' a harness. My Mum used t' 'ave two but she says she broke one off a long time ago and it never grew back. Malis-mum said she broke it off trying to bite a dragon's tail but ah 'ave yet t' see a dragon..." She was a little skeptical about a few of the stories she had heard as a filly from her mother but as she had not grown up with the troll-village she couldn't tell for sure which was fact and which was fiction.

kaliskanny
"I go to the deeper parts to sleep," Icarus nodded, looking down at the water. He swished his tail in a bit, then looked up at her with the mention of a dragon. "What's that? What's a dragon? I've never seen...or even heard of one."

He moved back and forth, kicking up the water slightly with hooves. This female must have seen moreof the world than he had, knowing of such wonders. Icarus was a bit jealous. "You're lucky, you can rome freely...I have to return to the water often, and I can't move to far from it."

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Ah dragon be very large and scaly. Some be havin' large wings while others can breath fire. Their scales be very hard, that be how Malis-Mum lost her tusk but ah don't know why she be huntin' them 'cause we don't eat meat." She lapsed into silence for a moment thinking over what she had just said before grinning, both her tusks showing strong. "Ah be travelin' o'er hill an' dale but ya be the most interesting t'ing I've seen. Ah couldn't travel deep into t' water, I can't swim..." As she talked it was easy to remember how she stayed in the shallows and, while she didn't have the aversion to water like her mother, she did have a slight worry that her ticker bulk than most would not float too well.

kaliskanny
"Wow...I'd love to see a dragon some day," Icarus smiled, his eyes lighting up. He looked at the troll, squatting down in the water to lounge in the shallow part. "I suppose swimming in the deep is something. I saw a place that looks like a forrest out where the water is very deep and plants grow. But, I'd still like to explore the land. See other interesting beings like you....course, you're the most interesting I've seen as well."

Tai'jin chuckled as she though of both of them wishing they could see each other's places of home. "Ah could tell ya about t' things ah be seein' if ya'd tell me about t' things ya be seein' Ah be curious about t' underwater forest. It be good eatin'? Are there bunny-fish just like there be soquili-fish like you?" She remembered a long time ago when she was a foal and met that annoying soquili-fish... a mer she thought it called it'self. Well Icarus was definitely much better than that one the troll mused to herself, not remembering much more about what had been said then. "Ah be very grateful if ya could tell me all about t' lands beneath the water."

kaliskanny
"No....no bunny-fish. But we have ones that are brightly colored, or have spines on them," Icarus told her, swaying his tail gently in the water. "In the very deep I once saw a fish that was more teeth than body. It was scary looking."

The stallion thought about it a moment, then looked at her. "What are bunny-fish?"

Man, that sounded like a creature worth seeing, pity it was so far down. The troll tried to imagine what it would be like so deep in the water. So caught up in her revere she almost didn't hear his question. "Bunny-fish? Oh!" She came back to the present and grinned. "When ah be a foal, ah be meetin' a soquili who looked just like he was half a fish. Ah just be wonderin' if there were other critters that be half fish too, like little bunny-fish." She peered at his hindquarters just to make sure he still had four legs and not two.

kaliskanny
"I'm not half-fish," Icarus said moving onto the bank, swishing his tail gently. "But I have a fish-like tail."

He looked at it, then at her. "What's a bunny?"

Clearly, he had not seen that many creatures that lived on the land. He wondered if this bunny was dangerous like the dragon....and how it could be half-fish.

The troll and the fish - Icarus & Tai'jin (part 2)

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "What be a bunny?" Tai'jin was taken aback. She had never come across a creature that didn't know what a bunny was. "Well a rabbit be a little fluffy thing, with long back legs an' long ears an' a little wiggly nose." The troll tried to describe the bunny but wasn't quite sure she had told it right. "Hol on, Ah be gettin' an idea!" With hardly a sound, she splashed out of the water and melted into the long grasses of the bank. She was sure he had to have seen the, at the very least when they drank from the river.

Suddenly a small brown creature that matched her description dashed out of the brush. It stopped short when it saw the other soquili, freezing still until the only movement was his wiggeling nose. Almost as soon as it arrived, the small fluffy thing dashed off as if it was spooked. If explaining it's quick departure, Tai'jin came barreling through the brush with a laugh. "Did ya see him?"

kaliskanny
Icarus nodded when Tai'jin reappeared. He turned and looked after where the little creature had gone. "We don't have things like that in the water. We have things with tentacles though...and fish with big teeth."

He looked at her with wide eyes, "What other sort of creatures are there on land? Do you have any with wings? I saw a fish once with wings."

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Tentacle things... and fish with big teeth. That is so odd!" Tai'jin grinned and nodded as she spoke. "Ya, we be havin' birds and bats. They be the ones who fly the most but them Malis-mum says that dragons can fly too... and of course there is also a lot of soquili who can fly." She paused for a moment before chasing a thought that had just hatched in her mind. "But don't ya have wings? They be wings right? Can ya fly with them?" She peered at the fins he had on his back that would be around the same place as wings would. "Ah be seein' a lot o' different types of wings but I've not seen any that look quite like yours."

kaliskanny
Icarus looked back at his fins, moving them slightly. "Well, I can fly, but only in the water. I can't fly above water. My father has large fins like these too....though, my mother had wings."

He blinked a moment, "Are you sure there are really dragons?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Mah mum doesn't have wings... she had tusks like mine but one broke off when she be fightin' a dragon. Ah guess dragons must be real if mah Mum broke her tusk on one." The troll shrugged and mused over that for a moment before tilting her head to the side to get a good look at the large fins. "So how ya be flyin' under water? doesn't the water get in t' way? An' how about breathing?" She was curious to know if there was a way that she could maybe see the land that he spoke about with the large fish with teeth and the tentacled things. What were tentacles anyway?

kaliskanny
"I fly through the water like my mother can through the air," Icarus shrugged, flexing his fin-wings. "I can swim...but it's like flying sometimes."

He smiled at her, puffing out his chest. "I can breath in the water like I can above water."

"What about you? Can you swim?" Icarus was curious if this troll could go in the water like he could. He could go on land, even if only for a short period of time. Couldn't she go in the water?

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. “Ah dunno. Never tried swimmin’ before.” Tai’jin narrowed her eyes, gazing thoughtfully at the fins that were upon his legs and his thick fishy tail. “Ah don’t have any fins an stuff like ya do. An’ Ah don’t know any spells n’such that ah can breath under water. Ah never really paid attention when mah Mum was tryin’ t’ teach me.” She added with an embarrassed shrug. While Malis was a true shaman, even if the spirits around here did not always heed her call, Tai’jin never really found a calling for it and much preferred exploring and investigating new things. Now she was an adult and sometimes felt bad that she didn’t pay as much attention as she could have but some how she got the feeling that Malis didn’t mind as much any more Returning to the problem at hoof, the troll stared at the water before looking up at Icarus. “Ah guess ah can give it a go as long as we don’t in too deep for now.” She grinned toothily. This will be an experience.

kaliskanny
Icarus had been studying the mare's lack of aquatic appendages. He nodded to her, looking atthe water, "Maybe you could try wading around at first. That way if you start to drift away I can help you get back to shore....for starters."

He moved into the water, wading into his shoulders and hind quarters, "About like this...unles, you're scared."

Rolling her eyes at the thought she immediately strode into the water to the depth he was at. Being quite tall she was still able to touch the bottom of the river bed but didn't have to go far to loose that security. "Ok, what next?" She looked expectantly at him for a follow up on her swimming lesson. "Ya just float around or ya be doin' other things as well?" She had seen fish swim around before and could see how he probably used his tail like them but for the life of her she could figure out how her tail was supposed to do the same thing.

kaliskanny
"Well, I sorta sway my legs, like I'm walking, but really slow," Icaurs showed her by moving in a slow circle around the troll. "And I use my tail to guide me. I dunno what to do about your tail though. Seems kinda...limp. Can you even move it?"

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Of course ah can!" She flicked it in such a way that it smacked him on the rump as he moved around her. "Ah guess I'll just have to figure out mah own way of swimmin' then." Tai'jin ducked into the water where it was a lot deeper and attempted to strike out by herself. She wasn't very fast but she was able to stay afloat at least. Tacking a few brave steps, she left the last of the shallows and felt her body sink a little deeper in the water as she lost the support of the ground beneath her hooves. Striking out with flailing legs she attempted to turn and made a face. She felt like the was a floundering fish out of water and missed the gracefulness that she had when wandering in solid ground.

The Perfect Gift - Malis and Zaribe

Malis Made her way across the golden sands and stared out over the ocean blue. The salt in the air was refreshing and the blue mare grinned as she felt her heart beat in excitement. It had been a long time since she had truly quested, thoughts of the scroll she had coverted for a while sent a tingle up her spine as her mind imagined the adventure that spread out before her. Zayll was off somewhere on her own quest so Malis was left along for the day. Not that she minded, the zombie had a tendency to argue with her reasoning, as if a troll's reasoning was ever wrong! Shaking her head she continued on before noticing a glinting in the sand.

Curious she stepped up and was delighted to find those golden shells that she had been looking for. Malis had a small stash of these sparkeling crustacians whish were perfect for adding into the mane and tail. She had planned to gether some up for Tai'jin now she was grown but was loath to part with her own stash. With delicate movements, the troll reached down and, making sure her tusk wasn't in the way, she tilted her head to the side to gather up the golden shells and place them carefully in her satchel. After making sure they were safe she wandered along the beach to find some more...

Rein_Carnation
Zaribe had found many a treasure, and came across the most amazing souls that lived as the beautiful creatures known as Soquili. His promise to Celendria was indeed true and faithful, a lot more to say now than a few years back. Where he stood focused and centered now, back then he was reckless and carefree. Not even a thing such as love could change his mind. Simply a wild bird spreading its wings out as far as they could reach. Everything was a game, an enigma that always teased him. Now it was as if his eyes were finally open for the first time.

Looking down in the basket he smiled at the colors and items, my how lovely she'd look in the different things. A Princess to behold.

His flight though brought him toward the "big blue" as Kimimela called it once more. Though he was on the opposite shore than where he'd met the magnificent water stallion that graced him with a pretty shell wrapped in seaweed. Landing neatly accompanied by a flick of his braided tail, he stepped once more into the earth that seemed strange as it sucked around one's hooves. His eyes scanned the golden sands that reflected the sun high above, bits of minerals making it look like a glittering sea.

Catching a glimpse of movement he stretched his neck concentrating. Seemed to be a blue mare that was searching for something that the most unique hair. Shining hair clasps inlaid through out her mane and tail. Amazing. Walking over slowly, so as not to startle her, he placed the basket by his feet before he spoke, "Good day to you. I am Zaribe of the jungle. Might I say you have the most interesting hair I've ever seen"

During his introduction, he bowed his head sweeping his mane. Always a plus to be discreet when talking to others.

Pretending she hadn't seen him, Malis watched him unobtrusively, peeking through her dreads as she kept an eye on the ground. She noticed he was carrying a basket that seemed to have a few things inside though it was hard to see through the openings in the wicker. He definitely had an air of a quest around him, she could smell it and a grin replaced the curious look, this would be an interesting meeting. Schooling her features into a more passive look, the troll waited until he came close before lifting her head. After his complement she grinned again, her large tusk showing, this was definitely going to be fun.

"Wa, thank ya! Ah be tryin' t' keep it nice. Mah hair be mah favorite t'ing about me, ah be thinkin'." Malis made her own bow of greeting in response to his before watching him with bright red eyes. "So what ya be doin' so far away from t' forest? That be a very nice place t' live an' ah not be one t' leave a good place unless ah be on a quest." She motioned to acknowledge the satchel and scroll case she had tied over her back. Turning back to the stallion with another toothy grin she carefully kicked a small patch of sand with her back hoof where another golden shell lay. She would pick it up when they were done. "Mah name be Malis, what ya be called around these parts?"

Well now this was something quite different than he was used to, but he didn't take that as something wrong either. Another soul that was quite different than others was never to be disregarded or ignored. Though her tongue was a bit hard to decipher, her words and attitude were rather chipper and open to trust. So the scarlet stallion looked at her in a different light and responded with a wonderful placed grin, "Greetings Malis. I am Zaribe of the jungle... but you may just call me Zaribe if you wish". His voice was rather deep though it carried a bit of playfulness that stood on the tip oh his tongue.

"You do keep your hair in really good condition. I'm like that with my feathers, one out of place and it needs fixed right away. My mate never fusses with me about it, so I'm thankful for that." He smiled bobbing his head before his eyes rested upon the basket where mostly the longer lilies were visible. "As for why I'm so far from home, I guess you could say Celendria the elder sent me out. You see I'm on a quest, a very special one to bring back the perfect token of my love for Tic. Thing is there's so many others have given, its going to be so hard to know which is the best." He ended that last word on an off note, for he really didn't know which she'd feel was the purest gift of his affection. Was it a rose, shell, necklace, flowers that she'd love him for? He couldn't even think of a start as to decide right at that moment.

Get it together Zaribe, remember you're on a quest for Tic.

Standing quite tall he ruffled his wings watching the troll. "And where are you from might I ask? Interesting tongue you have there. Zikeria and I came from the Southern jungles exploring. Been here ever since it seems."

He noticed the glittering shell by her feet, but he didn't dare breathe its presence right now. He was profoundly intrigued that someone interesting was taking time out of their day to chat with him.

Amirynth
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Ah hah! She had been right about the quest and the troll grinned once more. "Ahh well Ah be guessin' ya need some help in findin' a good present. But it be lookin' like ya already have so much." She peered into the basket and nodded approvingly about both the delicate smelling flowers and the eye catching jewelry. The troll though for a moment about the golden shells she had been hunting down for her daughter. They would look nice... but Malis wasn't sure she wanted to give away all her hard earned efforts, especially as they wern't exactly for herself. "What kind o' thinks ya be lookin' for? Ya be catchin' me at a bad time, ah not be havin' much o' ma stash around 'ere."

Snorting softly she listened to the short version of how he had gathered together quite a large collection before nodding. "Ah be thinkin' it not be t' gifts she be wantin' it be t' stallion. Though ah not be sayin' gifts don't help." The troll chuckled before turning a little more serious. "Why don't ya be thinkin' o' somethin' ya can give ya'self. Instead o' just givin' her t' trinkets and flowers from others maybe ya should give some t'ing from ya own heart too. Ya could think up a poem, or ya can take her somewhere special so she can see some'ting she never be seein' before." Malis had a sudden thought. "Ah be thinkin' that ya might need a bit o' help if ya decide t' take her explorin'. Ah be havin' this treasure map, maybe ya be findin' something special when ya get t'ere. An' ya also be gettin' t' spend time wit' t' one ya care for most." She knew there was nothing better then exploring than exploring with mates who wouldn't stab your back when the treasure was reached. As she had worked out the treasure was hidden in a secluded lagoon, the view would be nice too.

Rein_Carnation
A present from myself?

He noted that quietly in his mind pondering a bit on what he could possibly give. Once he had fallen in love he was sure that was all that was needed to appease and show her his undying love. But, there was more he desired to give her. The world in a silver bucket, a million stars raining downward in diamonds, a sea of color as they stood side by side amidst one another. A foolish man's dreams to want the world for his soul mate, and yet was it really that childish as it sounded? He would indeed give her something of himself, at least when he thought of it. That had been the sole reason he had approached the elder in the first place. For the parrot, born of the jungle was quite indecisive and very impulsive when he wanted to be.

"Then I will find something to give of myself as I trot homeward bound to the finish of this long journey. I'm just not sure what, but I know I'll find it." He nodded with an achieving grin as it curved his deep muzzle dipped in black.

He peered at her curiously when the map was shown to him rather than the glittering shells. Perhaps an adventure with his Sunny Rainbow was just what they needed. Time to reflect and explore long forgotten places, and even find treasure if they were nimble and quick. For all treasure coves had always contained a price of sorts. A good breathtaking adventure was perfect as a gift to Tic.

"And I'd love to go on an adventure with her when I get back. I miss her so much being so far away," the thought was panging deep in his chest, "I do hope that we'll meet again sometime. I'm sure Tic would love to meet you for giving such a fantastic idea." He beamed and bobbed his head feeling quite ambitious, now knowing what Feena felt when she went looking for treasure and things that glittered like gold or silver.

Finally he looked toward the midday sun, "If I'm to reach the Forrest clearing by tomorrow morning I should be on my way sadly. Though I'd love to stay and talk with you about adventures you went on."He smiled with a curious wink, "I must depart and keep on my path so I make it on time. Promise me you'll go on an adventure with us sometime Malis. I think Tic and I would love the company."

Bowing to her with a gesture of his sweeping neck and mane he proceeded to pick up the basket that now held the treasure map securely in place.

An adventurer for us. You wait Tic. Wait for me.

"Thank you Malis. Thanks from the both of us. May you find your treasures and make your daughter happy when you return."

Then with basket in tow he started off nearing closer toward the clearing than he'd been in a long time.

Ya can always ask for t' wolf, Zayll. She may be a little worse for wear but she be knowin' where t' find me. Maybe when ya have time Ah be commin' wit' but ah be thinkin' that t' first quest should be wit' ya mate." The troll smiled, a slight twinkle in her deep red eyes. Suddenly she frowned and her eyes grew far away as if she was listening to something. A small snort of indignation and a toss of her beaded dreads, Malis came back to earth and peered quizzically at the parrot stallion. As if a decision was made she twitched her shoulder so that the satchel swung forward. "Ah be thinkin' ya be needin' these. Not for ya mate mind you. You be knowin' who these are for when the right time comes." With a careful flourish she pulled a few of the golden shells she had been gathering and gently dropped them into the basket. "Now ya best be off, ah be catchin' ya later, you can tell me what she be thinkin' o' t' gifts when I next see ya. Ah be meaning t' explore the jungles, they be seemin' like home t' me." The troll gave a farewell nod and started her own way down the beach after picking up the shell that had been hidden by her hoof. The troll was sure her daughter wouldn't mind and she had plenty of time to find some to replace the gifts given, Malis began her search once more.
