_____Maki [真木], Tomo [朋] Genin | D-Rank | Taijutsu Specialist | Leaf-Nin | 175 CP | 365 SP
[ Training in Western Bursting Fist ]
Beads of sweat ran down Tomo's face more and more with ever strike the young shinobi launched to the solid log he used here for training. Now that it was time for him to become a full-fledged shinobi, he'd have to step up his game. Taijutsu is Tomo's specialty and this training was to learn a new style of Taijutsu so that his repertoire wasn't so boring. Though, this technique wasn't anything too flashy as to merit some sort of synonym to "exciting", but it was was only the first step. There would be much more training after this.
A step forward and a quick jab connected with the training log. The hit was solid, but it wasn't what Tomo wanted. He needed more power behind his strikes. Repeatedly, the genin struck this log with his leading hand in a polished stance. He'd been fighting for years with Taijutsu so simple techniques such as this came naturally. Finding the right amount of power to put behind the strike, however, was proving difficult for him. He sat down for a moment and thought about what this jab could do for him in battle. It was fast, but it didn't hit as hard as he liked. Perhaps.... Yes, he thought of a way to make this useful. Lowering his stance, Tomo added a small skip forward and, instead of throwing more power behind the hit, he pushed to add speed. If anything this strike was a feint compared to what he could dish out with a heavy-hand strike. After a few practice shots, it was time to complete the basic training. [ Learned Single Action ]
"Osu!" A yelp of power came from Tomo as he twisted his hips, following up his quick jab to shoot a straight punch with his back hand. His form was solid, though not as perfect as he'd like. He'd been practicing on this log for nearly an hour now without a break. Perhaps he was getting tired. He lifted his water bottle up to his mouth and sucked down the liquid as quickly as he could. "That hits the spot! Alright, now I'm going to have to step up my game. Now more errors. I have to lock down my stance and make this move have some real impact. Same with everything else after this." Moments later, Tomo could be seen repeating his combo of the quick jab followed by a powerful straight from his back hand. After a few repetitions in a traditional stance, he switched to a southpaw stance and kept up his training with that side. After all, no good fighter only trains themselves to fight in only one way. [ Learned Double Action ]

[ Training in Western Bursting Fist ]
AND HERE IT COMES!!!! THE GOLDEN PUNCH!!!! A swing comes around from the left side as Tomo hooks his arm and delivers a left hook to the side of the training log. A loud, solid THUNK could be heard throughout the dojo. The genin froze for a second after landing this strike before jumping back, yelping. Blood was dripping from his knuckles. This training was starting to get difficult, but Tomo seemed to have a knack for this style of Taijutsu. After wrapping up his hand, he continued trying this hook on both sides until he felt he really had a grasp of how to properly arc his arm and deliver a proper blow. [ Learned Curving Projectile ]
"Oi, oi, oi... How am I supposed to practice this in here..." The next move was your standard uppercut, but of course it was shinobi style. This would be a key move for Tomo in the future to use in battle. Sitting down for a moment, he thought to himself. Perhaps it would be best to switch targets for this one. It took a little while, but eventually Tomo got the idea to hang a ball above his regular swing range and aim to give it all the power he could muster. If he could continue his swing all the way up that point by using his legs to push himself up there, then this technique would be all that more effective. Punching through a target is very often a stronger move than a typical punch.
Tomo buckled down. He braced his legs for the jump and launched himself in the air. He did not strike on this first attempt as to gauge how much power to use. Now to try again. Tomo crouched down a little more than last time and focused on his arms. This time, he would strike and make sure to do it as perfectly as he could. With the uppercut swing of his fist ripping through the air, Tomo pushed off of the ground and up toward the ball. He arced his swing in a manner that, if there were an opponent before him, he'd expect his knuckles to have been buried in their jaw. Upward, he traveled, pressing his fist against the ball he had hung from the ceiling and launching it across the room. Tomo only used a string to hang it there so it was no surprise that he broke it. Perhaps he'd need to find a new way to practice this technique. [ Learned Breaching Charge ]

Kya meandered into the dojo, looking about the room for anyone that looked like they could be interesting. In the time between watching people train, she set her nodachi on the ground not far from herself, and shredded her flak jacket, tossing it to the ground. She had leggings over her legs, and an Obi bearing the symbol for Konoha held her robe closed, but she took to removing the top piece, keeping only her sports brah in place. Her necklace moved about as she swung her Shukajou to and fro, getting the kinks out of her arms as it were. She transitioned from swinging horizontal to vertical and back smoothly. [1/3]
She then began to stab the weapon. Some movements were short, some were curt and harsh. Some were graceful but purposed. She adjusted her grip, and the sounds of the rings shackling were louder and quieter depending on where she moved it from. She stepped in sharp, then more softly depending on the intended damage. The weapon was better if the end stayed between her and her opponent, but either way she was making a metric ******** ton of noise, not that her's wasn't as loud as some other peoples. [2/3]
Finally the girl pulled back and swung the weapon in a wide arc, masterfully moving with the rotation in a short spin that served to allow her grip to come closer to the neck of the weapon, with it's weight on her elbow. She moved her body under her arm as the weapon spun and her hand held it lightly behind her back. She lifted it as she stood, spinning it like a man holding a ballerina on the palm of his hand as she spun. She tossed it into the air, and in a motion of acrobatics she lifted her body with an expression of her leg strength. She rolled backwards and snatched the weapon from the air, landing with a hard swing that cracked the floor. She rose from the ground and held the weapon steady. Amidst this, she had also found her target. For the moment, she merely stood and watched the man who sent a ball flying across the Dojo her way. She swatted it down with her Shakujo, and then looked at him, letting the weapon return to a state where it looked more like a walking stick than a polearm, and she smirked at him. If it seemed uncharacteristic, it was. Still, she waived to him, giving a light tap to the ball to send it rolling back at him. [Shakujo C rank Formless Trained]

Tomo's foot pressed down firmly against the ball to stop it as it rolled over to him. He didn't realize anybody else was going to be around here to train. He slid his foot back, rolling the ball, and propping it up on the top of his foot before kicking it up and bouncing it between kicks. A few bounces with one foot, a couple with the opposite, then a harder kick to launch it higher into the air so that he could catch it. Tomo returned the wave the female shinobi had given him.
"Oi! That was some interesting weapon work," he shouted, placing his free hand on the large club that rested in the curve of his back. His kanabō was his most preferred weapon, but he wasn't at all skilled with it, if he were to be honest with himself. Using weapons wasn't his style, in general. "Y'know, you're pretty familiar. I feel like I've met you before. Or maybe I'm just stupid! Haha!" Tomo scratched the back of his head as he belted out a quick laughter. Carefree and friendly. That was one way to describe him.

Kya watched with in intrigue as the boy bounced the ball with his feet like a hacky sack, slowly walking over to him as she observed. Within just a second or two of him catching the ball, Shako like a walking stick, and her Jashin symbol bouncing against her chest as she stepped. Her eyes fell on his kanabo, very interested in such a tool as a weapon to beat people with actually, but it lacked a certain grace she was more used to. It looked heavy, like the shakujo, which she only tolerated because it happened to be tied in with her religious teachings. She was more apt with the blade she carried around, poking about a foot over her head, just above were the shako would be in her hand. It tapped the floor with every other step. She smiled when she complemented her weapon skills. "It just so happens to be my specialty, insofar as a Genin can be specialized anyway." she jested.
Her familiarity in his eyes somewhat reminded her of why he was someone who was interesting. "Actually, I do recall at least passing by you in the academy here and there. I was in the class ahead of you to graduate." Kya reached out with her right hand. "Kya Uchiha." Offering her name, she seemed to watch when/if his arm extended. A habitual thing for her to watch and analyze movement, perhaps a bit of her latent ability shining through, perhaps some of her naturally inquisitive, often oppressively so, nature.

Kya watched the ball go up, seeing it as if it were moving slower than it should have been and feeling a bit of pain rising in the sides of her face. Still, when it landed on his head she smiled a bit wider still. For anyone who knew Moody Blues, it was sure to be short lived. His grip was firm as he took hers, and though her grip was firm as well there was a clear difference in strength. Tomodachi Maki. The joke wasn't funny to her in all honesty, but there was something about the attempt that brought an extemporaneous giggle from her core. She was a few seconds from telling him about her own, homegrown nickname when there was a crash that snatched her attention. Again there was that pain in the corners of her eyes, just over her cheeks, radiating to her eyes themselves and shooting right into the very back of her skull.
Time again briefly slowed as a familiar form crashed through the ground. The moment she id'd it was no threat, she sighed in relaxation. THe smile had turned into pursed lips, but she turned to Tomo anyway. "Don't let a fly zip into your mouth..." she would say seeing it was fully extended. Just as she did say that, and turned towards Chet, a fly actually would try. She stepped towards the boy, speaking over her shoulder. "Tomodachi, meet Chet. Resident Oni, resident drunk, and as I hear resident chuunin." she would say. "Last I saw, you were... yelling something in the sand village. Did a bear throw you home from the land of wind?" she'd ask kneeing beside him, balancing herself with her Shakujo as she offered a hand to help him up.

Following all of this new information was actually pretty difficult for Tomo. As the cogs cranked faster and faster in his head, he remained still, allowing the fly to continue to the back of his throat. Tomo started to choke thanks to the insect, but it broke him a bit out of the state of shock in which he was stuck. This Chet fellow was a character that Tomo never believed he'd meet in his life. Then again, he didn't know such a person existed. Konohagakure was a large village, though. He didn't even know very many people when he was still in the academy. And, thinking of it, he still needed to get his headband to officially become a genin. Perhaps that would be one of his next stops on his itinerary.
"I only have TWO questions for ya, Chet!" Tomo threw up his right index and middle fingers accompanied but a wide grin. "First," he shouted while lowering his middle finger, "how much do those milkshakes cost? Cuz I really love milkshakes! Secondly," he continued while raising his middle finger once more, "can I touch those horns? I don't know what it is..." Tomo withdrew his arm into a shaking fist as his anxiety began to grow. This was a chuunin standing before him. Not only that, but Chet appeared to be someone of importance, though of a relatively unknown caliber to Tomo. "BUT THEY ARE JUST SO COOL!!!! I just gotta know what they feel like!!!!"

Kya responded surprisingly calmly to having an irate, horned man tell her to shut the ******** up. She took her hand back before he moved to stand up, realizing he wouldn't want it but allowing him space to get off the ground anyway. moody blues took a second of introspection, wondering what she had said that made him angry. If it were the drunk comment, it would be misplaced for him to beangry. The Oni spent the better npart of their lives drunk. Mayhaps it was the intonation/ She'd meant to be endearing. Either way Chet didn't seem too bothered as he looked down atKya.
Against all instinct she looked up at him, taking in the sight of a man so demonic in appearance. The pounding headache was back in her face, and she squinted slightly in response. Rather than be bothered, however, she gave a grin as the man, a head and a half above her, regalled her with his tale. Tomo seemed like he would get along well with him. "Side b***h? When did you get a main b***h Chet? I'm pretty sure im the only girl pining over you, my dear," she teased replacing the Shakujo on her back with a grin. "Either way, dear boy, I'm glad you've progressed." she looked away from him then, taking a few steps to pick up her sword. He'd grown while she fell so far behind. "i think... I should go do some missions myself. I got a lot of catching up to do. Chet, babe, we should take tomo out on a mission. Maybe we can go train or soar in the wilderness. Maybe both."

Being yelled at wasn't jarring. Kya was unflinching in the face of something of that sort because it's both a measured quantity and within character. It was easy to smile at him through a show of bravado like that. However, his squinting into a sort of sharpened focus that was NOT a measured quanity, nor was it known to be a thing at all. Kya's face fell into something much more serious. He turned away after delivering his message, and blocked tomo's view of her as well. Once more, pounding, sharp pain at the point where the corners of her eyes turned into her temples. This was, now, accompanied by a blush that was far too telling. Chet had no idea how much more intriguing he had made himself with so few words.
It took not a second for her to get her head on straight. This brand of curiosity was one that would be far and away from easy to act upon. She stepped around Chet, responding to what Tomo had said. "Well, hope about this. Learn as much as you can while you're here and maybe when you're done we can go ball out together? I mean, chet can turn us into a squad under him and we can go out into the countryside for some training. Don't let me twist your arms into it. Chet, I'll see you near the gates in a bit?" she told him.
