Lilly turned around looking around at the person who said that, "Oh, um... hi, well to answer your question, an appeal is when the pokemon, like the typhlosin on the stage now, performs for the judges. When the pokemon finishes the appeal the judges judge to see if he/she will make it to the next round which is the battling round."

Vienna said, "My, they're just dandy! I love the heatshow Jake's pokemon are putting up, it's just lovely!" she then heard someone utter a rude comment. She leaned over to see who that was. "Hmm? Did you say anything, mister?"

So the pokemon has to show how much it can stir up the crowd before it gets to battle? Makes me wonder what the battles will look like after seeing such a cool spectacle!" Raskal was cut off suddenly as the girl on the other side of the one answering him quickly repulsed him from the conversation. He held his hands up defensively. "No, no. Just curious about the show thats all. I've never seen a pokemon contest before so I'm a bit uneducated about the whole process."

Lilly laughed, "Oh, the battles are even more beautiful to see, you just wait you'll be awe struck. Oh, I'm Lilly by the way, And you are?" Lilly held out her hand.

Raskal hesitated a moment before answering. "Er... I'm Jace. Nice to meet you." He nodded to both of the girls before accepting Lily's outstretched hand. "Do you know anyone in the contest?" He added; a swift atempt at changing the topic of conversation.

"Hi, Jace, nice to meet you, and, yes." Lilly shook his hand then let go. "Including myself, I know Jake the guy with the Typhlosion, Al, and Raina." She pointed to each person as she said their names.

Raskal took note of all the trainers as the girl named them one by one. The Typhlosion looked strong and the ex-rocket entertained thoughts of a one-on-one battle against the coordinator and the fire type using his Feraligatr, Chomp. He doubted the outcome would be anything less than victory.
"If you're all coordinators, then does that mean you're not from Kanto? I've never seen these types of events in this region so I haven't seen many coordinators here either." Raskal turned to face Lily and Viena as he asked the question but kept an eye on the action down below.

"Actually, Hoenn is the birth place of Pokemon contests, and slowly the other regions adopted it. But I'm from Sinnoh." Lilly explained.

"Sinnoh..." Raskal let the thought hang on the tip of his tounge. "I can't say I know much about it. I'm from the Jhoto region. Blackthorn City to be accurate, ever heard of it?"

The judges eagerly wait for Jake to finish. When he did, the judges talked amongst themselves, before getting Jake's score set for the appeal round.
Al sat in his seat, too focused on thinking on his performence to hear the conversation between the others, while Pikachu found Vienna and sat on her lap.

"Yeah, Blackthorn City, I've heard of it but know little to nothing about it." Lilly giggled at Al, he seemed so interested in Jake's appeal.

After Jake finished his apeal he ran of the stage once he was of he said " Nice job Typhlosion high five!" Jake gave Typhlosion a high five and then chest bumped Typhlosion. Then Jake ran to where Lily and the others sat.

"Hey, Jake! Nice performance out there." Lilly congratulated Jake.
"Now! Time for our Judges to tell us what they thought of the performance!" shouted the AC.
