The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

Markus lay beside her easily, shifting slightly so his wings weren't trapped beneath him. One wing sprawled across the bed, draping off the edge. The other one, lay across Akila, sheltering her within the black feathers. He kissed her forehead lightly. "You'll be free soon. I promise." He murmured softly.

The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila nodded slowly. She knew it very well. Leaning over, she gave his cheek a tentative little lick out of instinct, and curled up more. She really wished she could just tell him how she felt. Sure, she'd told him before, but it didn't seem like enough. And the only way for her mind to connect with his was a bit further than she'd ever thought of going before.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

Markus held her close. He was quiet for a long moment before whispering to Akila, "I'm sorry. I wasn't fast enough." His hand brushed her neck lightly to show what she meant. "I failed to protect you....."

The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila looked into his eyes sadly. How could she make him see? She carefully lifted her hand to his and guided his hand to er other wrist, so he could feel her pulse, before then placing it above her heart. She was still alive.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

Markus sighed, then smiled sadly. "Yes, I suppose that is true. You are still alive. I'd just hoped to have you out before something irreparable like this happened." He told her softly.

The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila sighed and her ears went back. Did that mean he wouldn't like her anymore? She was sure one sided conversations must get old, and now she was broken. There were plenty of other girls. Her lower lip jutted out the slightest bit as her nerves picked up, and she looked down. She was ashamed, she realised, that she hadn't been able to protect herself. Hadn't been able to stop herself from being broken. It was sad, really. How weak she was.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

"Hey, hey! Don't beat yourself up over it." Markus chided her softly. He kissed her lightly. "I still love you, no matter what." He paused, then blushed as he realized what he'd said.

Akila blushed, and leant up kissing him again. Her heart fluttered and her ears perked up again.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

Markus smiled, seeing her ears pick up. He reached up to scratch her ears lightly as he kissed her softly. He held her close with his free hand, dark wing draped over them both.

Akila purred happily and kissed him back, even deepening it some. Her arms wrapped around his neck. Yup, she was definitely reassured.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

Markus kissed her passionately. Seemingly of their own accord, his hands began sliding along Akila's body, petting and stroking her.

The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila's breath caught in her chest at first, and her tail flicker, fur rising at his touch. Her hand tangled in his hair, never breaking the kiss. It felt so good that she barely had control of her instincts.

Markus smiled into the kiss. Slowly, watching for any signs of protest, he slowly slid a hand under her shirt, skimming her skin gently.
