Thank you for introducing me to this song. I've never heard it before and I like it. I mean, except for the lyric, "I will never change". I mean, they absolutely did have to change to remove the generational curses.
I see you don't know where that lyric comes from. It's a Bible reference. The people change, but a God who loves unconditionally and raises people out of their terrible situations is the one who never changes.

OH! It's a praise song! That makes a lot more sense. It really rocks.
I've read the Bible from cover to cover three times in my life so far, but I still didn't recognize the line. Thank you for clarifying.

That's good though. I think it's from more than one verse but I'd need a concordance to find the specific ones; but my parents had an entire book or class called "Written in the Stars" about the Bible and its correspondence to astronomy, constellations, all that stuff, but I didn't read it. I've read most of the Bible, ended up skipping over some bits though since I was actually in middle school when I first read one (the first one I owned) myself. I'm not an expert, just trying to do more of the unconditional love/being a better friend and whatever and that one came out when I was in high school and struggling a ton with (totally different) emotional issues and social awkwardness. even though I didn't feel like the outcast kid anymore like I did in middle school I loved the sort of music that's relatable on an emotional level, and also well arranged, and it actually played on the radio with the top hits.

For quite a while there, I listened to contemporary Christian music because it was better than the darkness on the regular radio, so I understand. It can be inspirational. The difference is odd between how Christianity is actually practiced by organized institutions and the unconditional love message that The Christ actually taught.
