Chiya laughed and stretched. A bath did sound good.
"I think I would like one, too."
She didn't sleep at all unless she was in animal form. It seemed that the immortality thing made it hard for her to get tired. The animal she shifted into did, though. So, she never slept unless she stayed away for the night. After all, a cop isn't going to arrest a squirrel for sleeping in the park...
"I think I'll go order some food. Shen, would you like sushi? Um..."
Would you like some cooked fish for dinner? Or perhaps raw sushi?

Shen smiled when Kaori said something about water and swimming. Happily, he understood those two words. The merman nodded when he realized that she was questioning him about it, eager to get into any water that he could. Dry land was just so...dry and it made his limbs feel heavy and light all at once. On one hand it was easier to move fast, but on the other it took more effort to move. Shen turned his attention back to Chiya when she spoke to him, asking something about food before telepathically speaking to him. His reaction to her question of eating fish for food was nothing short of horrified.
"How can you do that? That's horrible!" The merman replied telepathically.
He was one of those merfolk that had never quite gotten the concept of eating fish or meat, so the idea of doing so was rather barbaric in his eyes.

Hearing Chiya's thoughts and seeing the horrified look on Shen's face, she pulled him into the bathroom. Sticking her head back through the door, she hissed "Evidently no fish. You figure something else out, and please grab me something. Whatever works, but leave out fish so he doesn't freak. I'll handle the bath situation."she returned to the bathroom and turned on cold water first, then warm, sticking Shen's hand under each as she turned the faucets to show how to control them. "Put these on when you are done." she said, gesturing to the new clothes and heading into the living room to give Shen some privacy. Plopping down on the couch she closed her eyes and drifted off into sleep.

Chiya sighed and nodded. Then she would get vegetarian sushi. It was just a rice rolled wrapped in seaweed with a few vegetable pieces inside. If it made Shen happy and still tasted good, it was a good idea.
Chiya grabbed the telephone and ordered.

Shen found himself being ushered by Kaori into a smaller chamber before he could get a reply from Chiya. Had he done something wrong? The merman assumed not only because Kaori hissed some words to Chiya before turning her attention back to him. He watched as she turned some odd looking rock things that made water come out of a tubey-looking thing. Shen let her guide his hands to the water and listened and watched intently when she showed him how to work the contraption. He nodded when she spoke to him, gesturing to the garments, to show that he understood her words. The merman turned his attention back to the water and found, much to his delight, that the basin the water was pouring into was collecting the water. He adjusted the temperature through trial and error, getting it to the right warmth after a few mishaps with the cold water control. Shen shut the water off once it was close to the top of the basin and wiggled his way out of the clothes before slipping into the water. Though the basin was small and a bit claustrophobic, it at least held enough water for him to get completely wet in almost one go. This was much better than being dry.

Chiya sighed and sat down in one of the arm chairs. Her mind wondered for a bit and suddenly she had another wim to shift. Chiya never really enjoyed being in human form. Her past had mostly caused that. All the teasing and beating she got as a child taught her that being an animal was an easier life. The only pain she dealt with as an animal was hunger, exhaustion, a few problems with a hunt gone wrong. Tiny things.
Chiya felt the weight fall away from her and her insides and bones shifted silently as she became a new form. She slipped out of the pile of clothes and jumped down, curling in a ball in front of the fireplace. Her tail tapped the floor in a quite tune. Being a cat was easy. A dog was the best, but when you wanted to really relax, a cat is the way to go.

Kaori opened her eyes slowly, not really able to sleep. She stood slowly and stretched, noticing a cat at the fireplace and assuming it was Chiya. The pile of clothes a few feet away confirmed this assumption. Kaori sat on the floor and began to practice an abilitiy she had learned in childhood-wind crafts. She carefully set a tiny tornado, no bigger that her hand, into action, lettiing it spin along the rug.

As he entered the house his hand slid from the door and up to his head, his hair was soft like fur as he ran his hand through it. Crack came a sound right next to him and Lynx looked at the door as it suddenly gave way and fell to the ground. "Why do I always choose these places to lurk in?" He asked himself as he lightly stepped over the fallen door. A familiar odour floated through the deserted rooms,he looked round untill he found the source of the smell. A fire place! Quickly Lynx went to fetch the old wooden door that had fallen down mere minutes ago and dragged it back to the fire place. He began to hum a melody, not one you would usually hear from a demon it was a tune a parent would sing to their child, Calmly he leaned the door against the wall. One swift spin and kick later and the door had been easily splintered into thirty diffrent peices which scattered across the floor. Lynx collected the peices and placed them neatly into the fire place, once he was finished he lit the wood and the fire started to roar and the heat began to fill the room.

Chiya woke with a jolt and stared blankly at the tiny tornado. It spun silently across the rug. She jumped up and swished her tail, batting playfully at the little tornado. It only tickled her paw and it had a very weak pulling.
Chiya pounced on it, shaking out her fur as it puffed air at her face. She had the sudden urge to hiss at it and walk off.

Shen felt his body sliding a bit as his shoulders relaxed, prompting him to turn on his side and fold his legs in an awkward way. This kept him almost completely submerged, save his head, and was a way to get almost completely wet all at once. It felt nice to relax despite being landlocked and restricted to a tiny basin of water. Water was such an important thing that it was hard to imagine life outside it. Water was safe and could be warm or cold. It helped you move and made life easier. The merman's eyes began to droop as he relaxed into the water more and more. A nap might be in order.

Kaori smiled as Chiya began to play with the small twister, unable to hold in a fit of laughter when Chiya hissed at it and pranced away. Letting it die, she glanced at a small pile of dirt now in its place. "I should totally market these things. They're the perfect cleaning tool." she muttered. resting her chin on one hand as she pulled her finger through the pile.

Chiya trotted over to Kaori and rubbed against her arm. The cat in her let out a purr, so Chiya went ahead and gave in. She let the vibration of contentment escape her chest, continuing to snuggle up to the girl. She was half-tempted to walk in and check on Shen, but her modesty pinned her down on that one.
I'm going to take a nap...

Kaori nodded and moved from the floor to the couch, opening up lap space for Chiya if she chose. "A nap could be nice." She decided Shen should be okay on his own, and rather than check on him to let him have a little independance. Kaori let her head lean against the back of the couch and she became lost in thought, eventually dropping off to sleep.

Shen was startled awake by an odd sensation in his body. The temperature of the water had cooled and there were little tiny bumps all over the surface of his skin. The merman was shaking, and he thought it might have something to do with the water. He wasn't sure just how to drain it out of the basin, but he didn't worry about that. It was probably more important for him to get out of the water, it might be a reaction brought on by his human form. Shen crawled out of the tub and grabbed a rectangular sheet of cloth, finding it soft and comfortable. He rubbed it over his body, drying off before slipping on the clothes that Kaori had given to him. The shaking was starting to go away, and the merman was beginning to feel warmer. So...it was because of the cold? That was strange. Shen had seen humans all over the place, so he never would have assumed that they were so sensitive to temperature changes. He shrugged before he turned to the door, staring at the knob for quite some time before he figured out how to use it. The merman made his way out of the water room on shaky legs and found his way back to the room Chiya had shown him to earlier. He sat on that odd flat furniture and found that the fabrics that covered it were detachable and soft. Perfect for warming up with. Shen managed to wrap himself up into a sort of cocoon with the fabric and flopped onto his side. Another notch in his "I dislike being on land" belt was made as his body slowly warmed up.

Kaori snapped awake at the sounds of someone moving around. She stood slowly, so as not to wake Chiya and padded to the bathroom. Seeing the door open she stepped inside and, after a quick glance around, pulled the plug in the tub and put the towel and dirty clothes into the hamper. Locking the door and pulling a small lever on the faucet, Kaori shed her clothes and turned on the shower, letting the water wash away the day's stress.
