Looking about it seemed that Thanatos had never made it to the specific spot, well at least the whole secrecy of his rank was hidden; but that was the least of his worries. Quickly it would start to flap and fly off towards the village roads area.

The longer we wait, the more likely everything will be reduced to rubble. ." While he thought stemming away from entering too fast was a good idea, this circumstance was different. The longer he stayed away, the more detrimental damage done to the village. Staving downward, he exited at a quickened pace; heading for and through the gates. Being a past Kumo Nin, Apollo would of course know how to effectively sneak in without issue.

Stepping out of the shunshin, he didn’t stumble or stop as he came forward into what had been his old training grounds. He had bypassed almost the entire village of Kumogakure to get here and was too far from Kirigakure for anyone to even know he had come. No one knew about this place, no one from Kirigakure and the ones who had known about it in Kumogakure were either dead or had forgotten it a long time ago. The trees had grown massive in his absence and he stepped past roots and fallen trees as he walked. His side had stopped bleeding but it was swollen with infection and his face felt like he’d placed it on a flat iron. It burned so painfully that it felt…almost numb. He didn’t go immediately for the small shelter that had falling into complete disarray. It looked like a total loss so he wasn’t bothered by it but…he felt a small twinge of nostalgia for the place. Dropping to the ground near a tree he reached out one hand to touch the roots, ignoring the black red stick of dried blood that coated his hand up to his wrist. Two fingers were practically fused together but he didn’t need them, merely pushing a small drop of his chakra into the roots. They unwound instantly, revealing a small medical kit. Small but as he opened it up, it proved to still be well stocked. He tore the filthy shirt off and examined his wound. In the time it had taken him to get from Kirigakure to here, the wound had swollen shut and turned a raw and ugly red, the swollen skin bulging out like something had curled up inside his side. The skin was thrashed and raw, shredded in a half circle under his ribs. Digging a hand through the kit, he dug out a scalpel and a wrapped pad of gauze. Shoving the gauze pad into his mouth, he adjusted his grip on the scalpel and began to scrape off the shredded skin to get a clean wound edge. He screamed into the pad, his jaw locking tightly, but his hand remained steady. He’d dealt with injuries like this before and, despite the possibility of infection, this was the least of the damage his body had sustained. Once the wound edge had been cleaned and most the skin that had appeared infected was now littering the dirt, he collapsed back into the tree roots, wheezing. Dragging the pad out of his mouth, he heaved in a dry gasp of air through his nose, rolling his tongue to get the saliva back into his mouth. Once his throat was no longer sore and he could spit again, he dragged a small stack of paper from the kit and began to peel them with only a slight tremor in his hands. On each sheet was a small sign that meant healing and it carried a small burst of healing chakra. Rather than use them as they were intended, individually and on small wounds, he placed them liberally over the open wound, plastering them in place and then wrapping his torso with gauze. A half dozen went onto his face and he let himself slowly sink back down, turning his thoughts to his shattered mind now. There was nothing that could heal that. Mentally, parts of his mind were simply blacked out. Memories had shattered and he could feel a detached air of indifference to himself starting to form. It was a cool, detached air of concern that didn’t complete function. Possibly more worrisome was that it was consuming his usual self identity but, ironically, the part of him that should have been concerned was already detached. Watching flies start to swarm the discarded skin, he didn’t move. How was he supposed to think at this point? What did he do? How did he continue on? He had a goal in mind but it was an abstract that his fractured psyche couldn’t hold on to. Destroy them was not a solid piece of thought that he could grip. So…he’d start with a name. He wouldn’t call himself that anymore. That name that had so much joy attached to it. Maybe he’d go back to his original name. It was longer…slightly broken, like himself, but it was something he had that no one knew about. No one knew his name….not his first name before he’d lopped off the front of it. He opened his mouth and tried to say the word. Nothing came at first, except a dry scratching at the base of his throat, a painful cough following it. He sucked in a breath, swallowing the cough and tried again “Kal…sy…pher.” he lifted a hand and pushed it through his hair, feeling the grunge of the village, his own blood and a layer of dirt that he felt wouldn’t leave for some time. He dropped his hand and tried his name again “Kalsypher.” he said it quietly, feeling the strange taste of the word on his tongue. It had been so long since he’d even thought of that name. But it would do, for this work. He could feel the healing tags on his side warming and cooling as they expended their energy and he eventually began to peel them off his skin. Checking the skin as he went, he felt a flush of pride for the medic from Kumo who had created these tags for him. They worked after years of inactivity and lying dormant in a med kit under a tree. Brilliant. It was heavily scarred by the time he had removed all the tags, part of his side still a weeping mess of skin that was still several layers short of being fully healed. There was still some gauze and medical tape in the kit and he used the last of it to bandage his side fully, covering it as well as he could. The part of his mind that had been growing indifferent had settled and now he felt the true extent of his madness. It wasn’t a raving, destructive violence like most madness. Instead, it broke him off from the part that felt compassion and concern for others. He realized that he could only fall further into this state of existence but…again, he didn’t feel like it mattered. He was Kalsypher. And if this was going to be the way he chose, then he would follow it. As he always would have. After a few hours of rest, he stood, leaving everything as it was. The skin had started to smell, both the skin on the ground and his own skin. Walking away from the mess, he focused on the one place that could possibly lead him to his goals. He’d have to go on foot though. Kalsypher had never before visited the city of Gimangakure.
Fang had entered the Storm Forest staring down the thick trees which were to be his first victims. However, when he arrived, he had not considered how he was going to fell them. To his greater luck, he found an axe that looked a bit aged, but lacking in heavy rust. It was just the type of weapon he needed to face the trees head on. Fang then prepared his plan of attack for these trees by paying attention to their pattern. (1/4)
There were five trees to the left of Fang spread out evenly. To the right of Fang, there were three trees that had wide gaps between them. Fang thought it would be more logical to start on the side that had more trees. Taking the slightly weathered axe, Fang proceeded to hack at the first of the five trees. He knew it would be more efficient to drop all the trees first. He cut down all of the trees on the left side at this point. (2/4)
Moving to the right side, with a solid two swings per tree, he dropped the remaining three trees. At this point, eight trees laid on the ground without being reduced into firewood-shaped lumber. Knowing he lacked the natural physical strength to move each massive felled tree, Fang became creative. Holding each of his arms outwards and spreading his legs, he activated the 8 Celestial Gates. "Kaimon!" The Gate of Opening was released. (3/4)
Grabbing each tree, he stacked them neatly against one another in a row. Taking out the weathered axe he had found, he began to chop into the eight trees one by one. With his increased strength, reducing them into solid pieces of firewood became easier. Each of the eight trees produced six pieces of firewood a piece When Fang had finished reducing the trees into firewood, he had produced a total of one-hundred and seventy-six firewood. (4/4)

Fang felt good now that his Kaimon was opened. He did not want to return to Wanryoku without more firewood. Eyeing the massive forest that he was in, which now had eight stumps around him, Fang saw another ten trees. They were begging to get cut down by the axe that he had found. As he made his way to the first tree, he noticed he could fell them in a single swipe. This was due to his Kaimon which increased his strength five-fold. (1/4)
After dropping half of the ten trees, Fang felt a sweat forming on his head. This was turning into a nice workout for him. A solid break from the intense training that he had undergone so that he could begin taking on these kinds of missions. As he continued to fell the trees, he noticed that the axe was starting to wear down a bit more with each powerful swing. This must have been a very old axe that was left here by a lumberjack. (2/4)
Once the trees had been felled, it was time to once again lift each felled tree and arranged them into a row. One by one, Fang placed the trees next to each other, a feat only possible due to his Kaimon. Once they were in place, he began to drop the axe down onto each tree reducing them into firewood. With each tree reduced into six pieces of firewood, the total would be an additional sixty firewood. (3/4)
After reducing five of the trees into six pieces of firewood, Fang took a momentary break, wiping the moderate sweat on his forehead. He knew that he was getting some work done. However, he had no intention of stopping here. He wanted to take down a good section of this forest so that the villagers could be warm for the winter. After he finished reducing the ten trees into firewood, he now had a collective amount of an additional two-hundred and twenty firewood pieces equaling three-hundred and ninety-six firewood.(4/4)

As his Gate of Opening had long-since ended, Fang was feeling a bit tired now. He would not be able to chop down as many trees as he did before. Instead, he would settle on chopping down only a couple trees. That way he still could produce some firewood, but at a pace that was realistic. As he took the first swing, he felt like it did not quite penetrate the wood in the tree quite as much as it normally did. The blade must have become weaker since he was hammering it into so many trees before. It took him an additional two more swings to fell this tree. He then grabbed the tree and carried it on his back over to the pile of firewood. (2/4)
The next tree he found was a bit further away from the area with stumps. This tree, like the other one took three swings to cut down. Fang was really missing his Kaimon at this point, but the unfortunate part of the 8 Gates was the repercussion that was associated with it. As he lifted it onto his back, he began to feel the exhaustion that came with dropping trees. (3/4)
Both trees were laid next to each after a few minutes of properly moving and placing them. He then began to hack at the trees to turn them into individual pieces of firewood. With each swing, he could feel the axe becoming weaker. It was going to break after this, he felt. As the trees were chopped down into firewood, there was an addition forty-four firewood added to a new total of four-hundred and forty firewood. (4/4)

Realizing Fang had no simple way to carry all of the firewood that he had been so brazen to collect, he recalled that Wanyoku's companion, Samuru was said to be a skilled laborer. Using this knowledge in mind, Fang headed back to the gates. He needed to be able to borrow a wheelbarrow in order to carry this massive amount of firewood that he had gone and collected without thinking of how he was going to get it back in one piece. With that in mind, he made great speed for the gate. (1/4)

Returning to the large stack of firewood that Fang had created, he began to pick them up as fast as he could and load them onto the wheelbarrow. To his greater astonishment, he realized that the wheelbarrow's capacity was only fifty firewood. As he finished loading the wheelbarrow, he stretched as he was to move the heavy wheelbarrow's first load back to the gate. Fang knew that he had some serious work cut out for him. But, he meant to earn the mission ryo and approval of Wanryoku through effort. (2/4)

As he made his way back to the firewood area that was basically his little encampment at this point, he recounted the firewood. There were four-hundred pieces of wood remaining, which meant he needed to do another eight trips, including this one. He carefully filled the wheelbarrow with fifty firewood, being sure to make them fit nice and snug. The last thing he needed was firewood falling off. He took the load back to the gate. (2/4)

Fang arrived at his firewood encampment, getting ready to pack on another load of firewood. He gathered each individual piece one by one. They were stacked neatly into the wheel barrel. As it was filled, each piece seemed to be finely snug and he prepared for the trek back to the gate. Stretching, he made his progression. (2/4)
