Leila kept her arms around Nicholas for a little longer, then she helped him stand and sit on his bed rather than under it. She sat beside him and took the bandana off her ears, then handed him the still warm mug of tea. "Here, this should calm your nerves, Master," she said gently. "If you wish, I could bring a blanket and pillow from my room and sleep here tonight."

Nicholas took the warm mug with a small smile, taking a light sip from it. "Th-thank you." He said, taking another sip. When she asked if he wanted her to sleep with him tonight, he slowly nodded. "If it isn't too much trouble... thank you..." He then said to her, happy to know that she was gonna keep her safe, or try to.

Leila nodded. "All right, Master." She rose and went to the door. "I'll be back in a moment." She did as she said she would and took a pillow and blanket from her bed, then she returned to Nicholas's room and set them on the floor at the foot of his bed so she could protect him if anyone came in from any direction.

When Leila left to get her pillow and blanket, Nicholas went to the bathroom and changed into some pajamas, hoping that he could sleep well. He was back on his bed sipping some tea when Leila came back with her pillow and blanket. After finishing his tea, he placed it on his clothes drawer and got into his bed, getting ready to sleep.
~The middle of the night~
Nicholas was tossing and turning in his sleep, dreaming up a terrible nightmare. He dreamt that after saving him, Leila was shot and killed in front of his eyes. He then is about to get shot until he jumped up awoken, screaming and in a cold swear.

Leila instantly jumped to her feet, looking for what might have caused Nicholas's scream. Seeing nothing, she went to his side and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. "Shh. It's all right, Master. It's all right. I'm right here. It was just a nightmare. You're all right."

Nicholas continued to slowly sob, wanting to hug Leila himself, but unable to do so. He wanted to be closer to Leila. She made him feel a little safer. "C-can I sleep with you?" He asked, still tired. but too scared to go to sleep alone.

Leila nodded. "Move over a little, Master, so I won't roll off the bed keeping you company," she smiled, joking a little.

Nicholas did so, moving over so that Leila can get in next to him. He could feel her warmth, making him feel a little safer and relaxed. "Thank you..." He uttered before slowly falling asleep, lightly holding onto Leila's arm as he slept.

Leila smiled and whispered, "You're welcome, Master." Her fluffy fox's tail curled over her hip to rest on Nicholas's, and she stayed like that, watching over him the rest of the night. At dawn, careful not to disturb Nicholas, Leila got up and took his mug down to the kitchen to wash up. She recovered her tail and ears with sweater and bandana and got to work putting together her master's breakfast.

Nicholas slept much better with Leila at his side. He had no nightmares and was able to peacefully sleep. He woke up about a hour after Leila woke up, taking his time to get himself ready for the day. He then went to the kitchen to see how everything was going. "Morning!" He exclaimed happily.

Leila looked up from the tray she was filling and smiled back at Nicholas. "Good morning, Master. I was just about to bring you your breakfast. I see you've recovered from last night's ordeal."

Nicholas still held a smile, nodding to what Leila said. "Yea I did! I can't thank you more for helping me!" He said to her, about to run up and hug her, but stopped himself, backing away slowly. He kept thinking that she was just gonna push him back and growl at him.

Leila chuckled. "Smart move, Master. Hugging me with this--" she lifted the tray "--in my arms would have been disastrous. Would you like to dine in your library as usual?"

Nicholas simply smiled and shook his head. "No. I think we'll be in the music room today. I want to practice on the piano again." He said, heading over to music room.

Leila nodded, smiling. "As you wish, Master." She followed Nicholas to the music room and set the breakfast tray on the table by the guitars.
