Atsuko stopped outside of the bar to turn to Atsuma. "Turns out the mayor in Takumi was a bit to busy for us. I know someone in here by the name of Magnus that can give us work. If you'd like you can stay outside if your nervous, I wouldn't blame you. Shouldn't take more then a few moments" Atsuko explained gesturing at the bar. Unless he was physically stopped or vocally he'd step into the bar after that, wanting to get this over with so they could get to work.

Going up to the barkeep and slide him 50 ryo for a tip. "Is Magnus around? Looking for some work. Preferably on the nicer side" Atsuko said in a low tone of voice.

The bartender covertly swiped the 50 Ryo tip and headed into the back. He returned a short time later with Magnus in tow, the latter looking freshly shaven with an impeccably ironed suit. Not one to mince words, he began straight away:

"Welcome back, I hear you're looking for work. The Kusanagi Casino is looking for someone who will use some flashy techniques to promote them and serve as security at the same time. As there is currently some high-profile fighting in the city, they're willing to give you a bonus of 500 Ryou in casino chips after you've completed your job. If you are interested, head there, talk to the bouncer at the door, and start working."

Atsuko looked at Magnus, considering the jobs. After a few moments his eyes flashed with the sharingan, and he smiled showing his more pointed canines. "I appreciate those offers Magnus but as of right now Ryo isn't to important to my organisation. I want something bigger to sink my teeth into, more for the experience then the pay. As long as I'm not messing with innocents I don't care what it is. Maybe there are some rivals you need dealing with. Just give me something good, let me prove that I can be more then just an errand boy to someone like you" Atsuko stated, still keeping his voice low so that others wouldn't here it. For once the uchiha was showing his fangs, literally and figuratively, he was hungry. Though he didn't know Magnus to well he did know his way with words.

There was of course the chance for this to back fire on him but he knew it was always worth a shot.

"Ah, my apologies," Magnus responded. "If you're not in this for money, then I have something else for you to do. A family from the Leaf was robbed en route to Takumi and their child was taken. In lieu of paying the ransom, the family has asked us to retrieve the child. We've confirmed the bandits will be arriving in the city shortly, so ambush them on the roads leading into the city, recover the child, and deal with the group as you see fit. Is that more to your tastes?"

Atsuko nodded swiftly to that mission, it was way up his ally. "Certainly. We'll have it done immediatly, thank you for your time sir" Atsuko said, readjusting his jacket before making his way out of the bar and back to Atsuma. When the two were reunited Atsuko signaled for them to start walking, away from the bar and out of earshot of course.

"We have something a little dangerous to do. There is a kidnapped child and those responsible are on their way to this town. We will be ambushing them on the roads leading here, from the sounds of it there is 3 so this will be difficult. Do you think you'll be okay? You don't need to hold anything back against these people" Atsuko asked as they made their way through the city and towards the gates.

Atsuma kept his hood from revealing his face. He didn't want any of the men of Sasagi to his face and think he was too weak to be there and pick on him. That's what he assumed rogues acted like. He also avoided entering the bar to keep himself out of further trouble.
Atsuko was the true rogue there he could handle business for the both of them. Look at that, Atsuma Ket in the heart of Rogue Country ready to take on his first job. Who would've thought? His feet wouldn't stop tapping. Curious.

The ever pervasive thought that Atsuko was working for Magnus could not cease to antagonize the mind of the young Toya. Did the rogue know of his dealings with Magnus? He had told Toya they would meet the mayor of Takumi and yet there they were. <******** ******** ******** ******** ********>

The minute Atsuko left the bar Atsuma was right on his tail even stumbling a bit in his anxiousness. "So uh what did he say?" He asked nervously. Why was he so nervous? He listened to Atsuko brief him in on the whole situation and felt another rush of excitement just like the time he fought the bear back in the land of wind. "A...Child? Why would anyone kidnap a child? That's so cruel! We need to stop them!" Atsuma declared with a new air of confidence.
"I won't hold back. I am a ninja. I was trained to protect people and that's what I'm gonna do!"

Atsuko came back to the bar later in the day, job complete and a child in tow. His partner was no where to be seen but Atsuma had other business to take care of. Back to the bar tender he'd signal him over and keep an eye out for Magnus. The man had to be around here somewhere, and Atsuko didn't know if he was to return the child or not at the moment.

One of the bandits happened to have a long enough sword that he could keep out of Roxas' range of negation. Magnus was surprisingly absent from the bar when Atsuko returned. The bartender present looked mildly perplexed about what to do with the kid until something clicked in place in his head. He had a bouncer escort the girl over to a table and mixed her a non-alcoholic juice drink for the time being, then gave Atsuko an envelope containing 300 Ryou for services rendered.

Roxas limped into the bar with a good amount of blood on him. One of his eyes was closed due to a long gash, but he didn't seem to interested in finding medical aid. Not seeing Magnus around, Roxas called for a waitress. "I need a nice dry drink and Magnus..." With that said he sat down on a chair like a rock.

The waitress didn't appear to be very worried about Roxas, but she returned with a drink, a bottle of disinfectant, and a wad of napkins.

"Magnus ain't in yet, but I'll send him yer way when he is," she told him with surprising pop in her voice for someone speaking to a person covered in blood.

About fifteen minutes later, Magnus would step out of the back room while still pressing the wrinkles out of his cuffs. He looked a bit tired as he made a beeline for Roxas' table. The hair on one side of his head was lightly singed and he smelled strongly of smoke, though there didn't seem to be any fires in the building.

"It's not often that someone comes in with that much blood on them. Drinks are on the house. Do you need medical attention?" The man loomed next to a chair on the opposite side of the table, hands clasped in front of him.

Roxas took the items the waitress brought for him and set them all on the table in front of him. "Yeah thanks."
He mumbled setting his head back and letting the disinfectant go to work on his eye. It felt like someone was pressing a red hot iron against his eyeball,
but the pain made him feel something so it was welcome. "Should've taken a drink before doing that." He mumbled to himself taking the glass in hand and downing it. He stuck some napkins to his eye wound without much care.

While Roxas waited for Magnus he got in contact with Atsuko again. Pressing a small button on his ear piece, Roxas began, "I'm in Sasagi now. Got my s**t done. Probably going to head out for something else in a second. Just need to unwind a little. Where are you?" He asked as he heard foot steps approaching from behind. His old friend Magnus.

Roxas laughed in pain at Magnus' remark. "Yeah well it's not often people get assigned to protect one of the most important men in society." He asked for another drink. "And no I don't. I'll shake these scars off by tomorrow. I need another job. I hate standing still." Roxas respected Magnus. The man had a certain air about him that invoked power without uttering a single word.
For the first time he showed himself to Roxas without being in perfect condition. Part of his hair was singed.

I just Haven't Seen It In A While That's All.

Magnus ran one hand through his hair, taking his time as he passed over the singed part. By his expression, he didn't buy that Roxas was totally healthy. Even so, they did need the extra manpower right now.

"Your pay for that job will come in soon," he said with a voice so dead level that someone at a nearby table looked surprised he wasn't more concerned about Roxas. Heedless of this onlooker, he continued: "There is currently some conflict in the city that is resulting in a great conflagration near the temple. I've personally made certain that the situation there is contained as much as possible, but a few gangs are using it as a camouflage for their arson. I need you to head to the residential district and look for any buildings that have been marked with an 'X'. Remove any markings you find and search the area for firestarters--burning cocktails, cans of oil and the like. Dispose of those before they can be used, then chase out anyone who shows up looking to use them."
