[Ergo War]

Things were quiet for a long time--several minutes at least--but as the pseudo-dog pranced and yipped on the river banks, a wind started to kick up. The shutters on the nearby buildings started to rattle as the wind picked up, until eventually the combined noise completely drowned out the dog. Like a bolt of lightning out of the sky, a massive bird--easily eight meters across--swooped down and would attempt to scoop up the dog before flying away.

Based on its appearance, it would not have been too crazy to call the bird an eagle, but its size made it clear this beast was something else entirely. Despite its impressive wingspan, an ornithologist of any degree would have no trouble concluding that this beast was not an adult: its feathers' sheen and the patches of gray fluff poking out between them belied the creature's young age. If this was how large a child of the species was, how enormous might an adult be?

The Shadow clone was having a pretty boring time waiting in the shadows, the dog kept yapping and yapping like it should of, Whise was actually relieved when he couldn't hear it anymore. Oh wait.

The dog bushin had been yapping for quite some time and had been getting pretty tired. Until a very odd sound could be heard. He jumped at the sound of lightning as he was a fairly weak clone. He saw something descending upon him? Was it a bird? a plane? no! it was oh ********. He was easily scooped up by the eagle bird baby thing. Probably to be taken to be eaten and torn apart by his siblings. The clone squirmed attempting to escape, which would cause a reaction by the eagle to squeeze harder. This would be enough to destroy the clone. But as it did it barked one last time and its eyes and mouth glowed the the whiteness of ONE THOUSAND DYING SUNS. Exploding with the force of THREE explosive tags it power and destruction covered quite a large area. Hopefully it would be enough to bring the bird down. If it didn't die Whise had a back up plan.


Shadow clone Whise was down below keeping watch as the bird exploded into a ball of fire. Though he had a feeling this wasn't the right one? It's feathers didn't look right. He would have to examine it further. He awaited the results of him plan.

The explosion went off without a hitch, but it seemed to startle the beast more than anything else. It swooped upward dramatically, checking its talons confusedly. After a few moments of that, it flapped its wings again and circled back around, screeching a high-pitched wail that that echoed off of the buildings.Moments later, a powerful gust of wind blew through the area, stripping tiles off the roofs and spraying water from the river up the banks. If Whise didn't take cover, it was likely he would be launched into a building from the force.

Shadow Whise watched everything go as planned, except for the part where the damn bird receives no visible damage. It flew up into the air and seemed really pissed off. It screeched as it flew around, thankfully the way ripped of a tile and carried it his way or he wouldn't have seen the gust coming. he quickly jumped back to the spot where he was hiding before and the gust passed. It was powerful too, he didn't expect this from a bird. So explosions have very little effect on the bird. Were their bodies that tough? As he was hiding he looked over his hiding place to get a better look, he wouldn't notice his shiny little piece of metal on his forehead that was blank which represented that he owed allegiance to no village. Was reflecting some sunlight and making him a huge target for the bird. Maybe that'll give him a little bit of time to think of a plan.

The bird would swoop overhead and turn in a wide arc around the area, seemingly searching for something as it circled. A cloud of dust rose up in its wake as buildings suffered damage. There was a long time when it just seemed like the bird was simply going to pass over the area again, but when it finally oriented itself for the return trip, it started descending directly toward Whise's hiding spot, attracted by the glint of his headband.

The bird was approaching fast, its speed easily surpassing an average Jounin's, its talons bared. Would Whise try his hand against the bird's defenses again, or escape and try to regroup? Time was running out fast.

Shadow Whise had been discovered and the damn beast was moving in fast, his mind raced for possible solutions and outcomes. Obviously its talon have some kind of armor because those are the most exposed when trying to catch something or holding it in the talons. Every animal had weakpoints no matter the armor. One of those points would be the neck. Two half human sized snowflakes appeared in his hands. Each made with hand signs in each hand. These were made especially for cutting through things. Even the heaviest of armors. They began to spin in his hand to gain extra cutting force, but the beast drew near. He launched one high aiming for the beasts face. The snowflake was almost transparent since it was simply frozen water. The sun would shine on the first one thrown hopefully distracting the bird. Whise then through the second one lower aiming for the soft area of the neck of the bird. At least if he failed, he was just a clone. Though the original would probably be pissed.

As Whise launched his snowflakes, the bird noticed something was off. It flapped its wings to gain some altitude, but its size made this a rather slow undertaking. The shuriken would have hit it perfectly, if not for the tremendous gust of wind that followed. The shuriken were completely overwhelmed, their flight paths scrambled beyond recognition. One of them nicked one of its wings, while the other just barely grazed a leg. The creature was bleeding slowly, but gaining altitude again.

Whise made a audible sound of displeasure as the beasts created gusts powerful enough to distort his flakes trajectory. It seemed he managed to hurt the best with his attack, at least he knew it could bleed. He would need to get it to come back down for his next technique. As it was flying upwards he made a few hand seals and released a black mist from his body that shot upwards into the sky. It would take a moment for the mist to create clouds They would rise much higher than the bird could since most clouds appear to be a couple thousand feet in the sky. Even if this bird could double a normal birds height it would only be a thousand feet or so. He needed to get its attention. He screamed at the bird and yelled at it. Hopefully getting it to stop. The clouds above them both would begin to form and rain down oil, if this managed to land on the bird it would completely disable its ability to fly, and it would come crashing down hard.

The bird kept one eye on the strange man as it circled around the area in another wide arc. Its wounds were clearly irritating it: it kept twitching its wounded leg as thought to dislodge something clamped onto it. The bird showed no signs of coming close enough to Whise to be caught in the oily rain, seemingly deterred by its wounds and his antics. The creature was clearly weighing its options: attack and risk further damage, or flee from this dangerous, loud individual and the storm that seemed to be brewing.

Whise watched the bird circle around the storm was brewing above. If he could only get the bird to fly towards him it would fly right under the oil. He couldn't attack and he couldn't go to it. So Whise went with an odd plan, he went behind a wall and some smoke could be seen. And out flopped a human sized mackerel, he continued flopping as if it was struggling for water. It began to slowly make it way towards the river for a more realistic approach. Now all it had to do was fly towards him and get caught in the oil rain.

The bird perked up when it saw the giant, tasty-looking morsel flopping its way toward the embankments. With such a nice, large, juicy fish flopping around in plain sight, the bird couldn't really be faulted for wanting to sink its talons into it. With a hungry look in its eyes it began to climb, and when it was little more than a speck in the sky, it went into a full dive straight for the fish. Its speed was blinding, easily surpassing most shinobi and rivaling the Konin and Sannin of yore.

Clearly, it did not suspect anything fishy was going on.

It seemed his trick worked, the bird was no barreling towards him. But now Whise was a bit worried, if the bird got caught in his oil rain, at the speed it was barreling towards him it would crash right into him. He would have to time this right if he wanted to be victorious. He waited, staying in his henge as the bird descended. Then when it was just within range the clouds burst and oil rain poured over the area and upon the bird as well, its feather would stick and become heavy. It's trajectory would become uncontrollable, but it was heading the same way straight towards the tasty mackerel. Whise waited and waited till the last few seconds, he released the technique making the tasty mackarel vanish and replacing it with Whise. A single hand raised going through seals as a much larger Razor flake was appeared. The dripping wet wings would be unable to create any gusts or stop himself. Whise leaped towards the bird and unleashed the flake. If the last one was powerful enough to cut the bird, this one should be able to slice right through it.

Curses! Bamboozled by the catch of the century! The bird had been tricked by Whise's clever disguise, never anticipating it would be betrayed by a fish of all things. It unfurled its wings at the last moment and got in a good flap, seemingly unfettered by the oil either due to its large size and the oil's relative lack of coverage, or through some other factor like sheer force of will. It managed to pull up before plowing face-first into the former fish, but one of the snowflakes caught it clean in the left wing. Bleeding and now severely off-balance, the bird would make it maybe a block before crashing into a building with a solid thud. It would flap and kick its feet fruitlessly on the ground for a few moments, but would find little purchase on the air. It let off a pained screech that echoed through the city. The patches of gray fluff that had characterized the bird as a young one were now stained black and red in places.

Whise was confused by the birds mobility even after being hit with oil. Was the technique just not powerful enough? He was able to hit it pretty good as it flew off and crashed into a building. Whise chased it as it fell, as it began to screech Whise would bring down a Snow Senbon, which was particularly larger than a normal senbon and had great piercing power. It would be aimed into the throat hopefully a soft spot. If it took care of the bird he would then seal it into his Kage scroll. He really hoped that screech didn't attract anything.

2 Questions,

How strong was the grab from the bird? My clone would have been able to judge the birds strength?

The senbon would pierce the bird's throat, causing it to start seizing up. As its cries turned to pained wheezing, its blood began dripping through the hole, staining its feathers crimson. While the scroll was being prepared, there would be a flash of shadow across the area. It would be brief enough that it would almost seem like a hallucination--maybe he had simply blinked and his eyes had been adjusting--but the shadow had covered the entire area.
