Desert Wind Chapter #1: Playing Samurai and Indians

Asura, you're asleep when you are awakened by a loud shout from the peasant who was on watch. Jinyu-Zhe, you're just heading to check things out. Misaki is doing whatever. Wife is being sick. I'm going to need initiatives from Asura and Jinyu-Zhe. If Misaki wants in, I'll need an initiative from him as well.

Asura woke with a startle.

Asura awakes to see two men equipped with daisho and no clan insignia shoving aside one of the drovesmen. The peasant crumples to the floor in a thud and looks like he's bleeding badly. One hasn't readied any weapon yet, while the other is holding a tanto and chortling to himself. "Easy as gutting fish this is." he said.

Asura observed the situation and decided that at the very least he should be armed and ready. At best ready to counter ambush these swine, he picked up his katana and moved to a shadowy corner.

Misaki is very, VERY upset at being woken up by anything and he swears that whatever did it had better have a very good reason for doing so. As such, he'll get up and grab the pair of Storm Kama he keeps on him.

The unarmed bandit looks to where Asura was and nudges his partner once he sees that the Shinjo bushi is gone. Just then, their attention is taken by the shugenja who just walked out of the building.....and that Shugenja has initiative!

Jinyu-Zhe quickly pulls out an earth-type scroll from his scroll case and begins chanting a quick spell.

COMPLEX ACTION

Casting quickly, the Unicorn shugenja summons the earth kami nearby to gather bits of stone and clay around him, forming a set of full body armor around him, granting him greater durability.

Looking at the two ronin, thus noting that they are indeed the cause of all his sleep problems for the night, the Mantis just glares at them. Taking a step forward, he lets the firelight catch on his blades to help make himself look more ominous. "Are you really, really, certain you want to try this? Aside from me, there's this Shugenja here. And the Kami will not like it if you mess with him. Not only that, but there's an Unicorn Battle Maiden trying to sleep. Do you want to wake her and seriously piss her off? After all, they are said to be prone to castrating men for less. And me? Well... they never found the bodies of the last idiots who woke me up in the middle of the night and stuck around. So I suggest you run."

The one with a tanto looks like he's going to say something, but his friend retrains him and shakes his head. With that, they both retreat and start to run off.

Or is it...

Just as the Ronin turned and begun to flee Asura dashed from the shadows and attempted to kick the Weasel Ronin in the back of the knee and pull him back down onto his back.

"I have questions." Stated Asura his katana still sheathed in his hand.

Weasel spends a void point to contest your strength roll and gets 16. Needless to say, he goes down. He's a bit bruised, but ok and just glares at you. He's not saying anything! HUSBAND! It is your turn!

COMPLEX ACTION

Jinyu-Zhe would turn to Misaki, gesturing at him with both palms, before indicating for him to move towards the brawl in a flowing motion. "Move as water, friend."

Quote:

Spirit of the Wind: Jinyu-Zhe spends a spell slot (Fire) and grants Misaki an additional Simple Move Action, which he must use on his next turn or it is wasted.

FREE ACTION

Going with the flow...ing motion, Jinyu-Zhe moves 10' closer to the battle.

Misaki would sigh, not how he intended for this to turn out. Oh well, it could always be worse. Moving with the unnatural speed and grace granted to him by the Kami, he'd move up to join Asura, looking at the bigger ronin while shifting his grip on his Storm Kama.

Bear Ronin draws his katana and moves up to Asura

Weasel throws his tanto at Asura, but it doesn't even come close to hitting Asura!

Asura, it's your turn!  

[Mongooseh]

Asura glared at the bear ronin coming back with his katana and said, "I only needed one of you."


Asura drops his katana and before it even reaches the ground begins grappling the ronin.
