"No, we haven't met any nasties yet. But evolution? You mean.....Leafmon can evolve into something else?," Kale said, looking down at Leafmon in amazement. Kale was shocked; he had no clue that Leafmon could fight, let alone change forms. "Whoops! Sorry, I forgot to tell him about that, Mr. Ikki," Leafmon interjected. "Unfortunately, I haven't learned to control my Digivolutions yet. I've tried many times before but I couldn't. I did once make it to Wormmon but I reverted back to my current form 2 minutes later."

Kale was now confused. Wormmon? Leafmon could evolve and had never told me? And just how does that look? Just what else have /I not been told about? Kale knew it would take awhile to figure everything out about the Digital World but he had to train right now so he brushed the thought aside and smiled. "Got it, Ikki. Leafmon, you ready to fight?," Kale asked, pulling out his yellow D-3. "Definitely! I'll make you proud, Kale! Good. Now, Leafmon, show Ikki everything you've got!" Leafmon bounced as fast as he could directly at Ikki. He kept his bounces low to the ground so he could pick up more speed. Finally, Leafmon jumped into the air and tackles Ikki square in his chest.

Kale and Leafmon both moved back after Leafmon's tackle."What?! It barely phased him. Incredible. These guys are as good as we thought they were. Okay Leafmon, do it once more butwith more force," Kale told Leafmon. Leafmon bounced around Ikki in a circle until he had built up enough speed again. Then, he proceeded to tackle Ikki once again, hoping it would have a greater effect. "Hyahh!!!"

"Digivolve......got it. Come on, Leafmon." Kale's energy was nearly sapped as he saw Leafmon not moving. "Leaf....leafmon? You ok buddy?" Leafmon's leaf drooped down in despair as he was asked to try and digivolve. "But...but I can't digivolve. We can't. Not me anyways." Kale gripped his D-3 tighter and yelled, "Shut up, Leafmon! You can Digivolve and you will digivolve. You and me together.......We can do anything we need to do. Please, Leafmon: Trust me." Leafmon turned around, nearly crying at the immense faith that Kale had in him. "Ok, Let's do it. Yeah." Just then, a bright light emanated from the screen of Kale's yellow D-3, engulfing Leafmon.

Digivolution

"Leafmon digivolve to..........Minomon!"

"All right, Leafmon. One more time. You can make it to Wormmon,"Kale shouted as he watched in amazement at Leafmon's new form, Minomon. It looked like a small larva living in a pine cone. Come on. Just one more hopefully and we'll be at Wormmon. Please let this work.

Digivolution

"Minomon digivolve to............Wormmon!"

Kale smiled in glory as the new and improved Wormmon appeared from the flash of light. "You did it. You actually did it." Wormmon checked his body out. It had been awhile since he had been in this body but he still loved the feeling of it. Such a bigger and tougher body than his other lower stages, he felt a surge of power run through him. Looking back at Kale, he smiled as much as his tamer. "No, WE did it, Kale. Without you, I wouldn't have been able to do it. So, you and me both digivolved." Kale sighed as he knew that Wormmon was right. "Yeah, guess we did. Now," he said, looking back up at Ikki. "What do you want us to do?"

"What? You want us to fight?!" Kale and Wormmon were trailing them the whole way there. They came to a halting stop when they saw a ghost Digimon trying to eat the eggs. "What the Digi is that? It's a Bakemon. They're ghosts who like to cause chaos wherever they go. I believe they usually work for someone. Wow. you know you're stuff, Wormmon. Why, thank you. But we better join in and help Kamina. Oh yeah. You're right. So, you ready to beat up the bad guy?," Kale anxiously asked, holding his yellow D-3 in his hand. Kale saw something falling to the ground when he realized what it was: the Digi-egg Bakemon tried to eat. "Huh?! The Digi-egg! Wormmon! Hurry and catch it! Okay. Silk thread!"Wormmon shot out a thread of silk that stuck onto the Digi-egg and was whipped back to Kale, who caught it in his hands. "Wow. That was close. but you're safe now little eggy." Kale now could only look on as it was up to Wormmon to finish the job. "I will not let you eat these innocent Digi-eggs! Sticky Net! Wormmon shot out a web of silk that caught Bakemon and stuck him to the ground. "Yeah! Take that, Bakemon! Don't mess with me and Wormmon or you'll get all caught up!"

Kale and Wormmon stood in disbelief as more Bakemon arrived. "Wormmon, keep on shooting Silk Threads at the Bakemon's arms! Then, put the other end of the threads down on the floor." Wormmon did as he was told, firing Silk Tread after Silk Thread towards the Bakemon's arms, hitting 4 of the five that were stil up and tying the other end to the ground near him as Kamina fought the Bakemon. "Kamina! Please lead them around that tree over there!," Wormmon shouted, pointing at a nearby tree to Kamina's left. He and Kale had a plan and hoped it would work.

Kale and Wormmon both smiled as the 4 Bakemon followed Kamina to and around the tree. As they circled around, Kale shout," Kamina! Jump to the right! Wormmon now! On it! Sticky Net!" Wormmon once again shot out a huge web of silk that was large enough to capture all 4 of the Bakemon and pin them around the tree. Now, the only Bakemon left was the one Ikki was distracting. They watched since Ikki was too close to the Bakemon for Wormmon to cleanly hit the Bakemon with a Silk Thread or Sticky Net without hitting Ikki himself. Kale clutched the Digi-egg tighter with both hands, including the one with his D-3, as he looked on.

Kale sighed a breath of relief as Ikki and Kamina's teamwork finished off the Bakemon. "We did it! We beat back the Bakemon and saved the digi-eggs. Right Wormmon? Right!" Soon after Wormmon said that, he glowed a bright white and reverted back to Leafmon. You did well, Leafmon. Better than anyone could have. Kale put his D-3 back into his pocket and walked over to Ikki and Kamina with the Digi-egg in his hands and Leafmon by his side. "So, how did we do? Yeah, yeah. Are we strong enough to be heroes?"
