The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

Markus held her hand. Seeing her touched her throat, a flash of pain crossed his eyes. She would never speak again, because he was too slow to save her. He kissed her neck softly, murmuring. "I'm sorry....." He held her close, as if he never wanted to let her go.

The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila looked up, surprised out of her musings. She gave him a small smile that said it was okay, and traced her fingers over his scars.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

Markus returned the smile sadly. "All for you." He whispered, kissing her softly.

The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila frowned a little, and raised her other hand (the one holding his hand) and kissed his hand before kissing him. She didn't like that she was a reason for him to get hurt.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

Markus touched the corner of her mouth, gently forcing it upwards. "Smile. That makes it all worth it." He told her softly.

The tiger that should be....isn't....

She gave him a sad smile and nodded lightly. Relaxing back on the bed, licked his cheek once.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

Markus chuckled at curled close to her. He soon was asleep. Though it wasn't night, he had gotten used to sleeping at all odd hours, whenever he could. Even in his sleep though, he didn't let go of her. He murmured softly as he slept. "Akila......."

Akila lightly caressed his cheek thinking along the lines of 'Rest up, love.'. before relaxing enough to let herself fall asleep in his arms. Tucking her head into the crook of his neck, she felt very...safe. It was new to her.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

It was sometime later when Markus woke. At first he tenses, realizing there was someone else in the room, hell, in his bed. Then he caught Akila's sweet scent and he relaxed, remembering he had brought her here. He glanced up at the timepiece on his desk. His eyes widened. Crap! He had to get Akila back before they punished her. Gently, he shook her shoulders. "Hey. Akila. Wake up."


All the workers had finished for the day and were starting to head home. Aleera was pleased with the progress they had made today. She sought out Clorogne, walking around and trying to find him.

Akila woke slowly, letting her senses remind her where she was so that her instincts would not over react like the last time. She blinked carefully, looking at Markus confused at why he had woken her so suddenly. She sat up, and used one arm to cover her chest, suddenly very shy. She blushed a little, but waited for him to point out why he had woken her up.

Clorogne was saying his goodbyes to a group rather buff men that he had been working with. Happily, he spotted Aleera and trotted over to her, wrapping her in a large bear hug, "Hello."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is....

Markus was distracted for a second, dark eyes skimming across her form. Then he shook his head, making himself focus. "It's getting late. You'd better get back." He said, clearly reluctant to let her go back.

Aleera laughed as she was hugged. "Can't.....breath....." She told him teasing. "Ribs....being.....crashed....."

Akila's ears went flat on her head and she frowned but nodded. He was right. Blowing out a sigh she looked around to see where exactly her shirt was.

Clorogne laughed and set her down, resting his arm around her shoulders, "ready to go?"

Markus reached down to the floor, picking up their shirts and handing Akila hers. "Looking for this?" He asked with a laugh.

Aleera leaned against him, smiling. "Ready." She said happily. She looked down at her hands. "I am soo ready to get this dust and dirt off of me." She glanced at Clorogne and asked him with a wicked smile. "Care to help? I have some issues reaching certain areas."

Akila smiled sheepishly and nodded, taking it carefully. Blushing she quickly pulled it over her head, before running her fingers through her hair.

Clorogne laughed. Someone was in a good mood, "Don't mind if I do." He picked her up bridal style and stole a kiss.

Markus reached out, brushing her bangs out of her face. He kissed her briefly, then pulled back and stood up. He offered his hand to her. "Come on. Before either of us gets in trouble." He tried to make light of the situation, smiling playfully.


Aleera squeaked as she was suddenly picked up. "Clorogne! What have I told about doing that?" She scolded him lightly. "Warn me first, you big oaf!" She laughed lightly.
