Robert sat among the Munna with his Pokemon and the Smeargle. He couldn't help but wonder if the man was telling the truth about returning those Pokemon to their owners, but there wasn't much he could do. Any further violence would put the Munna and his Pokemon in danger. But even more puzzling was why the man attacked the Muna and use that machine? Not to mention the man's words 'I'll say a prayer for you' as if he intended to kill them. Then only after a battle actually heal the Munna and leave. What would have happened to the Munna if Robert wasn't there to protect them? Would the man have killed them, or would he have healed them? Things just didn't add up in Robert's mind.

Roast had been released again to be healed by that strange ball thingy. And everyone was talkin' bout stuff, didn't seem necessary for Robby to just say he fell through the floor and then someone crushed his chips before he knew anything was happening. And so, he stood, watching everyone else talk while he munched on some chips.

((Wait, what? Trop, what did I do to make the..... Oh, was it Squirt, Kai and Tayla releasing themselves before Luka fought Jack? Oh well. razz ))
Lying on his bed, Luka thought about the future. Technically, this was it. He'd put it off for seven years, but he was finally going off on his journey. His father seemed massively pleased, but his mother didn't seem so happy.
He leant over to his bed side table and picked up the book he was reading, a thrilling crime novel in which a murder had occured in the midst of a Pokémon Battle and the protagonist, one Ash Rider, was forced to delve into the depths of the villanous Team Rocket to locate the clues that would implicate the murderer. It was a pretty good book, with all its twists and turns, but it did lack the excellent metaphors and symbols to which Luka had become accustomed to.
It was just as he was about to start Chapter 6 when his mother knocked on the door. "Luka, I need to speak with you..."
Luka sat up. "Ok."
She walked in and sat at the edge of the bed. "Will you be alright on your journey?"
Luka nodded. "Of course I will, Mum. I've never felt more ready for it and if I don't go now, then maybe I'll never be able to pick up the courage to go for it again."
Zelda looked up at the ceiling, "If you ever need us, just give us a ring on you X-tranceiver and we'll come running. Ok."
"Of couse, Mum."
Zelda looked back at her son and gave him a massive hug. "I'm going to miss you, you know that, right?"
Luka laughed as he hugged her back, "I'm going to miss you too, Mum, but you and Dad are only just a phone call away so it shouldn't be too bad."
Zelda lovingly stroked Luka's hair, "You've grown so much. It seems like only yesterday when you were Scott's age and you wouldn't leave my side. Now look at you. You're practically a man now." She sighed. "You get some rest now. You've got your journey to be going on tomorrow and I won't have you being tired. Okay?"
Luka laughed again, "Of course, Mum."

As Team Plasma left the scene, so did the sun, and night fell onto Striaton City. Nevertheless, Salieri was still on her self-titled crusade to go and rescue Wayne as she traveled through the sleepy city to her destination. It could barely qualify as a crusade, since Salieri wasn’t going much faster than a walk. She was still not at full fighting form after the whole day of running around the Dreamyard. But she still held a determined and boisterous attitude. “Salem, if you can do it once you can do it twice! We can go save Wayne’s life one more time!”
Her Eevee trotted besides her raised an eyebrow up at the statement. That didn’t sound right. [We? I’m saved you too, remember?] she cheerfully corrected her trainer, although Sal heard it as nothing more than a peppy series of unintelligible barks and continued to dictate how she’d “beat down that ginger b***h before he could say ‘Spinning Bird Kick’!”. Without breaking her stride, Salem turned her head back to Chen Zhen and Salieri’s positive yet embittered pre-battle pep rally fell on deaf ears. [Hey, she was yelling before about the new tricks you both pulled. Chen Zhen, can you show me something cool?]
Chen Zhen’s previously mellow state broke at Salem’s question, and he instantly looked caught off guard. But he quickly regained himself and held up his hand at his sides.
Two slender vines rose out of his wrists like dancing snakes, growing out of his arms and up into slow spirals. The green monkey closed his arms and his expression quickly changed from nervous to serene, like he was in a good dream.
And then suddenly, the whips cracked and snapped to each other, scrambling around faster than Salem’s awed eyes could follow. In an instant later, a knot the looked like a bright green lotus blossom had appeared right before her, formed by the Vine Whips. The chatty Eevee was rendered speechless for a moment.
[Wow, that’s...that’s amazing, Chen Zhen!]
The Pansage’s eyes snapped open from their dreamlike state of concentration for creating Salem’s request at that moment, and suddenly he began rubbing his head sheepishly and looked away. [Uh, thanks,] he muttered with a dopey smile as his cheeks turned a shade of bright pink. Salieri stopped her speech and looked back to see the lotus flower unravel slowly and become two vines that retracted from back into her grass monkey’s wrists.
“Sweet, Chen Zhen! You just learned that attack today, and your precision is already on point!” Her attention then turned to Liuye Dao, who had remained uninterested in the affair. “And you Liuye, did I mention how awesome you were back there! Well I will again. You learned something awesome too, didn’t you?”
The Pawniard remained silent and just looked away, causing Sal to frown. “Liuye, what’s wrong? Just show me, c’mon.” That’s strange. Is he upset about something?
~~~~
On the rooftop of the tall house, Liuye Dao could see all over Nuvema Town. The Del Forrest house was the largest in town after the family had spent two years building it up from scratch together. He stood upon the only flat part of the roof, a large brown tiled rectangle in the center with a door leading down to the attic. From this point, he could see the pokemon lab in the distance, as well as the large zen garden in the backyard.
“I bet you’re enjoying this view right now, my little soldier boy.”
The Pawniard turned to face the only other figures on the roof. A Leavanny stood with her leafy arms held behind her back diligently, and in front of her sat a blonde woman in a white silk day dress. Her hair was long and unkempt, but she still had a feeling of youthful beauty to her. You could not see it in her eyes though, as they were covered by a grey blindfold wrapped around her head.
“There will be many beautiful places in this world that you will get to travel to on your journey. And if you’re smart, you will never forget a single view.” Slowly, the blindfolded woman reached out to the wooden cane lying in front of her. “It’s important to keep the things you think are beautiful close to your heart.”
She grabbed the top of the cane and twisted it around, pulling it to reveal that the to was not all it seemed to be as she unsheathed a thin, long jian sword. “But my little soldier boy, please promise me one thing. That you will never forget that it is my daughter who is taking you on this journey. Will you promise to keep her safe?”
Liuye nodded and dropped to one knee, bowing before his teacher. “Will you promise to be there for her when she needs you the most?”
He nodded again without missing a beat. The blind woman smiled again. “And the most important promise I saved for last. My little soldier boy, will you be a friend to Salieri?”
He nodded vigorously at the last promise, and felt the tip of the cane sword tap his head and then shoulders. “Then I hereby dub you as a defender of the Del Forrest. I hope you never forget what I have told you today, Liuye Dao.”
~~~~
After a brief pause, the Pawniard brought the tips of his bladed hands together. From the ends of each came a spark, and then a stream of electricity charged between the two points. It illuminated the front of his dark body slightly in the dark, casting a shadow across half of his face.
Salieri nodded with a satisfied and slightly relieved smile. “Badass.” Liuye jolted in mild surprise for a second, but then just nodded humbly. And when he thought no one was looking, he snuck in a small smirk for himself.
“Now with these new tricks, how could we possibly lose?” The Battle Girl slowed down as they neared the Dreamyard. It was much quieter than before now that the battles were over. Finding Wayne could be difficult in the dark. She cupped her hands over her mouth and hollered.
“Wayne~!” she yelled loudly, rotating so if he was around he could hear her call bounce through the forest. “Wayne, where are you!?”
There was a lump in the back of her throat. It was the unfamiliar feeling of being worried. Don’t you dare die on me Wayne Lee, you owe me a battle.

"We should try to get to them. At the very least, I know the Munna and D-Vee are hurt - Darumi might be too, right?" Eunmi said. "And I don't think that one guy came with us. His pokemon are probably hurt from the attacks that Musharna did."
Eunmi clicked her flashlight on - the small beam of light didn't offer too much aid, but it was better than nothing.
"But first things first, you need to get your shoulder fixed," Eunmi said. "Ever pop someone's shoulder back in place, Shery?"

((Sorry TK, you're gonna have to learn to stop breathing so quick on your own. Shery can't help you there, dude))
Salieri? Wayne leapt to his feet, looking for where the voice came from. Out in the wide open courtyard, it was clear and he shouted back:
"Hey!" his hands cupped around his mouth, "Salier--"
Psychic power closed around him. Wayne felt as if every joint and muscle and bone was trapped in some invisible vice. He couldn't move, no matter how hard he struggled. Gothorita held out her hand and then lowered it, Wayne's body reacting in kind; he sat on the floor, cross-legged, his body moving like a puppet.
"Right," he muttered, "Don't move around so much, huh?"
The psychic watched him quietly then released her power, staring in some other direction.
"Weird how I could still move my mouth though," Wayne pondered aloud, "So like-" his voice a whisper now, "Salieriiii... Over heeeeere..."
***
Shery looked nervously from Eunmi to Henrietta and forced a laugh.
"Well, there's a first time for everything!" she said, rubbing the back of her head and quickly catching her hat when it threatened to fall. "I did read the how-to's online once, so err..."
Her eyes narrowed. "Okay, Purple, do exactly what I tell you and we can go find your pokémon. Lie down."

"How-to's online?" Eunmi said, concerned. "Er..."
Eunmi bit her lip, debating whether or not she should step in. She had, after a sparring match gone wrong, helped a classmate pop their shoulder back in place, but she didn't know if she should say anything. After all, Shery was a nurse, right?
"Henrietta, it's gonna hurt," the teenager said, sitting down next to her on the opposite side of Shery and the dislocated arm. She extended her hand, offering it for Henrietta to grip for the pain.
"You sure you're okay to do this?" she asked Shery. "I.. uhm, can help."

Wayne’s voice rang momentarily through the Dreamyard, and then it was gone. He had been cut off. Salen’s big ears wiggled at the familiar voice. “Vee vee!” she cried as she bolted in a direction towards the outskirts. Salieri ran after her Eevee, and her other pokemon followed.
The Eevee darted to behind a piece of broken wall and Salieri took similar cover with her pokemon. She took out her pokedex, and held it out past the debris to scan the Gothorita. Her pokedex beeped, and when she looked down at the screen her nose wrinkled in disgust.
“Psychic type? No wonder that thing is so creepy.” She sighed. Salieri wasn’t up for a fight right now. If this pokemon was holding him hostage, then she’d just have to intimidate it away. After all, Psychic types held supernatural powers, but past that they were wimps.
The Battle Girl sprung out from behind her cover and pointed a finger at the Gothorita. “Back away from that trainer, you foul beast!” she bellowed with her hand on her hip. “Or you’ll face the swift anti-psychic justice of Salieri Del Forrest!”

"Wait Sa-mphermph--"
Wayne's jaw locked tight and he couldn't as so much twitch his lips. His body froze in a seated down position and he could no more protest than move.
's**t! She must have heard me say I could move my mouth before! Aww, crap crap crap'
Gothorita's gaze shot in Salieri's direction. She narrowed her eyes. With a wave of her arm, Wayne was bowled over and helpless on the floor with his arms tied psychically behind his back. Without a trainer around, pokémon did what they thought was best. If Gothorita's last order was to keep Wayne safe and in check, then that's what she'd do.
She began to stride towards Salieri.
"Goth." She spoke and then shot forward, using Telekinesis on herself to lift off the ground and speed through the air. Her arm went to the side and a blast of pink energy exploded outward, looking like a wild star of light at its base with a b*****d big blade of power erupting forth.
It was Psyshock - a move that utilised the user's mental power to forge a physical attack. Gothorita had mastered the move and made it her own, unique version. A technique evolution. The human trainer was the target.
With the blade at her side as she dashed forward, Gothorita would slash inwardly and horizontally, beginning low. As the slash continued, she'd quickly curve it upward and rise, aiming to catch Salieri if she jumped. At the same time, the initial movement would be low enough to get her if she tried ducking beneath the cut, while the length of the Psyshock sword would be long enough get the trainer if she was too slow in backing off.
If it hit, the sword would explode on contact, sending shockwaves of pain throughout Salieri's body and blast her backward, the physical effects on her body the same as if she'd been standing next to a small bomb. Not lethal, but it would do its damage. Gothorita, meanwhile, wouldn't feel the effects of her own blast, the pink licks of flame warping around her body.
Gothorita's power was derived from starlight; this far away from the city, and at night, her strength was beyond its normal capabilities, bathed in the silver glow of the star-dotted sky.

David stood there in awe as his Teddiursa had just evolved. He clutched the Munna defensively, keeping his knife in front of him as Samson and Cicero prepared to take on two more of the Grunts' pokemon.
[Earlier]
Goliath took the full force of the Psychic, falling to his knees as he struggled to stay conscious. [Take this!] He unleashed his Revenge, rushing the Garbodor at a blinding speed, slamming into it with his shoulder. He panted heavily as the pokemon fainted, then fell to the ground as he fainted himself. "Goliath!" David roared, drop kicking the Grunt. He doubled back, recalling Goliath to his rarely-used pokeball. "You two are from Team Plasma, aren't you? And to think I actually wanted to join your organization!" He pulled out a knife, waving it in front of him in case either of the grunts decided to continue their assault. The female grunt rolled her eyes. "Team Plasma would never accept a weakling like you! Liepard, take care of this idiot!" She threw out a pokeball, and the purple, cat-like pokemon emerged. The male grunt got up, glaring at David irritably as he tossed out another pokeball. "Krookodile, go!" Dave took a step back as Cicero and Samson let themselves out of their pokeballs, standing in front of him with determined eyes. The female Grunt laughed "You expect to win with those weak little pokemon? Your Machamp couldn't even handle a single Garbodor! Liepard, use Fury Swipes!" "Krookodile, use Crunch!"
Cicero and Samson both used double team, creating ten perfect copies each of themselves. [For David, and Goliath!] [We won't lose!] The two bear pokemon went in behind as the Krookodile and Liepard each hit a clone, and smashed into them with Return. "Krookodile, get up! Those weak pokemon are nothing compared to all the training I've given you! Sand Tomb!" The pokemon grunted, still feeling the pain of the fully-powered Return, then whipped up a sand tornado that destroyed all of the clones. "Liepard, use Sand-Attack!" The purple pokemon kicked a spray of dirt up at the two pokemon. Cicero was knocked back as he was hit by both attacks, unable to move as he was trapped in the tornado. He winced, sneezing a flurry of sparkly blue powder snow before lifting his head up and sending out a jet of water that crashed onto the Krookodile. The pokemon was hit full force, water being it's natural weakness in addition to being weak, and fainted. Samson rolled to the side, dodging both attacks, then rushed the Liepard, Slashing at it with all his strength. The pokemon fainted as the attack hit hard.
"Samson?" David looked to his pokemon with surprise as it began to glow, then change shape. In a burst of white light, Samson evolved into an Ursaring. The male grunt snarled. "Damnit! Useless weak pokemon! I'll get you for this! Scrafty, go!" The female grunt shook her head. "That was a fluke, your big ugly bear won't save you. Watchog, go!"
((Stay tuned for part two! sweatdrop ))

"Watchog, use Confuse Ray on the Cubchoo, then Super Fang!" "Scrafty, use Bulk Up, then Low Sweep the Ursaring!" Samson created ten more clones of himself, then went in behind the Scrafty with another hit of Return. Cicero was still trapped by the Sand tomb, and was hit full force by both of the Watchog's attacks. He lifted his head up and haphazardly fired a jet of water. "Scrafty, use Brick Break!" Samson dodged the attack, but was hit by the Brine as it came crashing down. "Watchog, Super Fang on the Ursaring!" The meerkat pokemon landed the attack as Samson dodged another Brine. Cicero sneezed, letting out a flurry of blue powder snow as the tornado subsided. The attack hit both Samson and Scrafty, freezing them both. The female grunt smirked. "Ha! Your pokemon are still green, you have no hope of winning this.Watchog, use Hyper Beam on the Ursaring!" Samson was hit full on by the white blast, and fainted. Cicero used the opportunity to unleash Fury Swipes on the frozen Scrafty. [Goliath....and Samson, too! I won't let you win this!] Cicero created more clones of himself, then fainted the Scrafty with another Brine as the Watchog landed a Crunch on one of the clones. He rushed the Watchog, moving in for a Slash. "Watchog, use Crunch!" Cicero was unable to dodge the attack, and flinched in pain. "Time to end this! Use Super Fang, then Hyper Beam!" The Watchog chomped down hard with it's front teeth, then unleashed a blast of white light. "Cicero!" David looked on with a frantic expression as his Cubchoo was hit by the blast. He was pushed back, but stood firm even after the attack finished. "What the hell!?" The female grunt stared in disbelief as Cicero was still standing. David checked his pokedex.
Endure. The pokemon takes an attack that would normally result in fainting and endures it, surviving only just. This move has a decreased chance of success of used in succession.
He looked over at his pokemon with a smile of relief. Cicero rushed forward, landing a harsh blow of Return as the Watchog recovered from the Hyper Beam. He followed up with a Brine, fainting the Watchog. The female grunt walked over to Cicero and kicked him hard as she recalled her pokemon. "Stupid weak little pokemon! Just lose already!" David ran over to stop her, but was tripped by the male grunt, dropping his knife as he fell. He turned to face the knife, in the hands of the male grunt. "It's over, kid, hand over the Munna and you won't get hurt!"

Henrietta, who was concerned for her arm, was also interested in the bag that had squashed Melty. So, while Eunmi and Shery briefly discussed her dislocated shoulder she took the opprotunity to snatch the bag and glance through it. Yup, it was hers alright.
Then she turned to the duo and said, "thank you." She laid down as per instruction and she'd take Eunmi's offered hand for squeezing if it hurt.

As Wayne contorted around like a puppet on invisible strings, Salieri instantly broke out into a run. "Wayne!" she shouted with a tinge of concern, not worrying about her own safety as Gothorita sped towards her. Salieri detested the Psychic type in general. She hated that they could break into someone's mind or twist the laws of physics to their whim. To a martial artist like herself, that kind of thing was cheating. Not to mention creepy. So when she said she had an anti-psychic plan, she wasn't kidding.
Specifically, it was Liuye Dao. Just like before when Bill's Watchog had attempted to attack his trainer, Liuye jumped in front of the attack to save the day. The blade of psychic energy would fizzle out like a dead fireworks display on contact with the Dark type's body, but the Pawniard made no move after that except to get into a defensive fighting stance between Gothorita and Salieri. He was still not in prime fighting condition after battling Topper, and right now the priority was saving Wayne.
With a flick of his wrist, a blade similar to Gothorita's formed on the end of his bladed hand, only much smaller and light black. His Night Slash wasn't an advanced technique, but it still looked menacing as Liuye Dao held up his blade in front of him for defense. He gave the Gothorita a look that said "One false move and the hair decs go first."
As Salieri got close to Wayne, Chen Zhen emerged from the ground on the other side of the male trainer. She dropped to her knees at his side while Chen Zhen looked on with a keen eye at the Gothorita. The Battle Girl breathed heavily as she leaned down. "I was worried-"
Was that concern in her voice? She sounded far too caring. Her tone changed quickly from relieved to angry as she gave him a quick jab on the arm. "Worried you'd bail out on our battle! How am I supposed to fight you if you're dead?" she growled, although she could not hide her smile no matter how much she tried. "This is the second time you're getting rescued today. Remember that, you dummy."
Salieri grabbed onto his shoulder and tried to pull him up. If her physical strength was enough to overcome the telekinetic grip, then Salieri would attempt to run away from there with Wayne. She didn't know where the Gothorita's trainer was, but she didn't want to take her chances with more Team Plasma troops. If they were as good of fighters as Bill was then they'd be in big trouble. "Now c'mon skinny, work with me here."
And all the while, Salem poked her head out from behind the broken wall close by, waiting for the right time to jump in. There was no need to reveal her presence right off the bat if she wasn't needed. And besides, she didn't want to get her hands dirty. The boys can take care of this.

[Father!] Gothita dropped to one knee, arm crossing her chest, head bowed in uncontested respect. [Yo,] said the Alakazam who floated mid-air, [You're my daughter or some s**t, right?] [Yes, Father. My training requires your instruction.]
The Alakazam twisted in the air and sat on the ground, cross-legged, his glowing blue eyes narrowing.
[Right. Well in battle you should attack the human.] [The... human?] [Yeah. Kill 'em.] [For the strategic value involved with removing the trainer's status as a tactical coordinator?] [Sure, whatever. And you have to have fun doing it too. Otherwise, you're like, not my daughter.] [Yes sir, I will try.] [Have fun killing humans!] Kitano the Alakazam waved as the memory faded and Gothita returned to the real world.
***
Blocked by a Dark type. Gothorita's expression didn't change as she continued with the momentum from her swing. The Telekinesis she'd used earlier kept her aloft this whole time.
As she turned her back to Liuye Dao, her empty hand released a wave of electric charge point blank - Thunder Wave. The intent to slow Liuye Dao down enough to prevent him from chasing her. She'd shoot back towards Salieri, another Psyshock blade erupting from her arm.
The normally stoic pokémon afforded herself a silent smirk as she saw Salieri try to pull Wayne up. Gothorita wasn't using a pokémon technique to control Wayne's movements, but her species' innate ability to hypnotise and command the actions of both people and pokémon.
As the psychic rushed forward at high speed, Wayne would find himself out of Salieri's grasp and being forced face-first onto the ground. He'd be out of the way of the attack, which would again attempt to slash Salieri across the gut and blast her away.
***
All right. This was it. How hard could it be, thought Shery as she adjusted her hat in anticipation.
"Just be strong, okay?" she said, kneeling down, trying to ignore the crunching of Robby's chips. He was watching this like it was entertainment. Shery suddenly felt very vulnerable, like her every action was under the scathing critique of Robby's stare. Her face went worried red.
"We'll get you through this, alright? It's gonna hurt."
Shery held Henrietta's hand tightly, lifting it up until her elbow was at a 90 degree angle. She could feel it shaking uncertainly; every weakened muscle spasm as Henrietta's shoulder operated in a completely alien way.
"There we go, there we go."
She had to wait until the muscles relaxed. Henrietta would be in agony by this point.
"Just stay strong, okay? We got this."
The spasms slowing, the muscles relaxing, Shery began to turn the dislocated arm outward. She moved it slowly, making the conscious effort not to rush. Easy does it. Slow and steady. And eventually, Henrietta's arm would slide back into its socket, the bone popping back into place.
"Now, Audino!" the nurse said quickly and Audino hurried over, applying a small Healing Pulse over the shoulder. Normally Henrietta would've had to keep her arm in a sling, but like this the healing process would be sped up exponentially.
Shery huffed as she leant back, still on her knees. She wiped her forehead with the back of her arm and managed a grin, "How are you feeling, Purple?"
