[Kits Rose]

*walks onto the pool deck followed by Smok. Seeing Amy over by the bar, she walks over there* Hi Amy. How are you feeling?

*follows Kits over, sitting on the ground next to Amy and squeaking up at her*  

[Cuwen]

Amy looked over when she heard Kits and smiled at her, very happy to see her. "Kits, hi! I'm doing better. I know I don't sound it, and these guys are babying me over here."

She rolled her eyes good naturedly while Jessi, Tommy and the other staff member sighed and shook their heads. Jessi and Tommy were smirking.

When she heard a squeak down by her feet, Amy looked down and gasped when she saw Smok. She grinned brightly.

"Smok! Hi sweetie! I'd pick you up if I wasn't sick."  

[Kits Rose]

Hmmm... *studies Amy* You do look better than you did when you dropped Thistle off. She's doing good, by the way. She misses you a lot, but Velcore and Gwee are keeping her busy. Here... *pulls a folded piece of paper out of her pocket and gives it to Amy. On it is a picture of Thistle carrying her pillow in her mouth while walking next to Velcore*

*jumps up on Amy's lap, wanting to help her feel better*  

[Cuwen]

"Thanks, Kits! It's always nice to hear when you look better after being sick. Kind of perks a person up."

Amy took the paper from Kits and then looked at it. Her eyes filled with tears when she saw the picture on it.

"Aww, Thistle.... I miss her."

She laughed softly. "I recorded a new message for her on that pillow. I hope she's not bugging you too much with it."

When Smok jumped up in her lap, she looked at him with wide eyes. Smok hardly ever wanted to be held, let alone jump on a lap.

She picked him up and hugged him close to the crook of her neck.

"Oh, Smok! You're such a sweetie. Thank you. I guess since you're a dragon, you have a much stronger immune system."

While Amy was cuddling Smok, Jessi smiled and turned around to look at Kits. Her eyes were dancing. "Wait right here for a moment, please, Kits!"

Jessi ran toward the entrance building.  

[Kits Rose]

*shakes her head* No, she's not playing it that often. She's mostly just carrying it around.

*nuzzles Amy, squeaking at her and trying to sound like Thistle*

*giggles* I think he's passing along a greeting from Thistle.

*looks at Jessi when she speaks* Okay... I wasn't going to leave or anything anyway.  

[Cuwen]

Amy breathed a sigh of relief. "She isn't? That's good. That must mean she doesn't feel as homesick like she did while Karrie and I were on vacation."

When Smok squeaked like Thistle and she heard what Kits said, she laughed. She laughed like she hadn't in a week. She cuddled Smok close and placed a kiss behind his ear, making sure to keep away from his face even though she wasn't supposed to be contagious anymore.

"Thank you, Smok! I'd give you a cracker, but I don't think you'd like that."

Tommy tossed over a piece of pineapple to Amy, some of the juice dripping down her fingers. "May Smok would like some pineapple instead?"

She held it out to Smok, not sure if he would or not. "Thanks Tommy."

She looked up at Kits. "So, how are you doing, Kits?"

Before Kits could respond, Jessi came jogging out and held out an envelope to Kits. "Kits, this is from Rod! He dropped it off a few days ago."

Amy's eyes widened and then she smiled up at Kits.  

[Kits Rose]

I think it helps that she knows you're not far away. She's been spending a lot of time with Karrie too.

*licks the pineapple, then makes a face at the sweet flavor*

*takes the envelope from Jessi* From Rod? *opens it and takes the note out, setting the envelope on the counter with the tickets sticking partway out of it*

Dear Gorgeous Kits,

Enclosed are two tickets to the opera. I would love if you would let me escort you to the show. I'll even put on a tux and everything, Miss Kits. If not, please keep the tickets anyway and take a friend or someone else.

sweatdrop I'm not sure if you like the opera or not and if you don't I can turn these tickets in for something more suited for your tastes. Perks of the business. wink

Amy looked at Kits and a small smile began to appear on her face. "She has? Karrie and Thistle have been spending a lot of time together? That is... that's wonderful! I'm so glad they get along so well and that Thistle has more than just me to lean on. It's..."

She looked at Smok as he licked the pineapple and then made a face. She couldn't help but laugh. She put the pineapple on the counter.

"Aww. I don't think Smok likes that very much, Tommy. Guess he's the one dragon that doesn't like sweet stuff. But that's ok!"

She picked him up and held him over her head as she looked up at him and smiled. After a few moments of that, she looked over at Kits and tilted her head to the side as she brought Smok back down and cuddled him close.

"So? Good news, I hope."  

[Kits Rose]

*cuddles Amy, wanting to make her happy so that he can tell Thistle about it later*

Good news? *looks at Amy, her face still red* Yeah, it's good... *hands her the note, then asks Tommy for a pineapple smoothie*  

[Cuwen]

Amy scratched the top of Smok's head as she watched and listened to Kits. When she held the note out to her, she momentarily stopped scratching Smok so that she could take the note and read it.

After a few minutes, her eyes widened and she looked up at Kits. Tommy was making her smoothie right now. Amy smiled brightly.

"Oh my gosh, Kits! This is great! The opera... and with Rod! Very cool! Do you like the opera?"

Jessi beamed over at Kits and listened intently. Then she would go back to the information desk, she promised herself. Yep...  

[Kits Rose]

I... I don't know. I've never gone to an opera. I've seen some on TV, but I'm sure it's not the same. *ears twitch as she looks at the envelope with the tickets* I suppose I should text him soon, since he left this a few days ago.  

[Cuwen]

Amy nodded. "You should. I'm sure he's looking forward to hearing from you."  

[Kits Rose]

*takes her phone out and fiddles with it for a moment, not pushing any buttons or anything* It... it really sounds like he wants to go, doesn't it? *starts getting a little nervous* Not that I really have anybody else to invite. Karrie probably wouldn't be interested.  

[Cuwen]

Amy arched an eyebrow playfully. "Well dang. Thanks for including me in the 'anybody else' group."

She chuckled and then looked at Kits encouragingly. "Kits, you can do this. I know you can! He wouldn't have asked you if he didn't want to go with you. Plus, he even offered to take you to something else if you didn't like the opera! This is about you, Kits, not finding someone to go to the opera with. And I can take care of your pets if you want!"  

[Kits Rose]

*looks up at Amy* gonk I'm sorry! I didn't even think about you! I was thinking of a date, and I don't think of women when I think of that...

He did offer to... and it is really nice of him to do. *messes with her phone a bit more* My pets take care of themselves mostly. It's just when they need to be fed or bathed that I'm busy. *puts Rod's number into her phone and sits, looking at it and trying to think of what to say. After a moment, starts typing*
