Quietly, Larai snickered at this as she continued to hug onto her daddy as he carried her along.

"No offence, but every time you say that something goes horribly, horribly wrong." Mala said flatly to Kai, right before Van came along to scold him about misusing his powers.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Sorry dad..." Kai said like any other scolded child. "Oh, and apparently mom forgot how to swim." he said with a teasing grin.

"Oh did she now?" Van said with a smile as he climbed in before helping Larai in as well. "Well we'll just have to do something about that at some point now won't we?"

Mala's face turned a whole new shade of red, feeling mortified that Kai had bothered to mention it. Like each member of her family, she absolutely hated admitting when she couldn't do supposedly easy tasks like swimming.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

Van just laughed when he saw her turn bright red. "Don't worry about it, when was the last time we found a lake to swim in anyway? And it's not like the port lets people swim around there." Van said as he helped Larai with her lessons.

Mala nodded slightly, offering a faint smile. "That is true..."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"So, should I pull you in now or later?" Van asked Mala with a grin after Larai got out some time later.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"That depends. I don't want to tire you out." Mala said in a slightly teasing tone, approaching the edge near Van and grinning right back at him.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I'd think you of all people should know that I've got surprisingly high stamina." Van said, matching her teasing tone as he grinned back up at her.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Oh? Maybe later you'll have to give me a reminder~" Mala purred with a playful wink. After that she sighed and said, "Well, I guess I'll go get the swimsuit."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Ugh, do you guys always have to be so mushy?" Kai asked as he stuck his tongue out at their sappiness while Mala walked off.

"That's what happens when you're a couple. You'll understand when you're older." Van told Kai with a smile.

Larai looked at the two, a question formulating in her mind. "Hey, daddy? How did you and mommy become a couple?"

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

Van sweatdropped before sighing. "I'm not sure how much your mom would be okay with me telling you, so you can't let her know I told you, okay?" Van said as Kai came and sat down to hear the story as well. "It was a long, long time ago, hundreds of years before the thought of having you two even came to mind. We were kicking it back at a tavern and drank a little too much, something I don't want you two to do for a very long time, if ever, and we kinda lost control and said some things we never intended to say out loud for a long time." he said, leaving out the crazy drunken sex.

Larai blinked a few times in surprise. She almost couldn't believe it. "So...you and mommy getting together was an accident?"

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Well when you put it that way...." Van scratched the back of his head with a nervous smile. "Kinda yes, kinda no...We both felt the same way about each other, it just took a good dose of alcohol to get us to admit it."

"Why couldn't you two admit it sooner? The truth was that you liked each other, wans't it?" Larai asked innocently, not knowing just how difficult it can be to admit things such as that.
