"Because some things are a lot harder to admit to than you think." Van said with a small smile. "You don't know how the other person's going to react, good or bad, and you wind up keeping your mouth shut for fear of getting turned down."

 

[M3Gnificent]

Larai nodded, getting what he meant somewhat. "Kind of like how you don't know if Kai will share his cookies when he has some, so you're afraid to ask?"

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Not quite!" Van said with a laugh.

"Lemme guess, we'll understand when we're older?" Kai said flatly, seeing the response a mile away.

"Bingo. You can live without cookies, but it's different wanting to spend your life with a person and they don't feel the same way. Much more soul crushing."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Do you think you would've ever confessed to mommy if you two hadn't gotten drunk?" Larai asked, wanting to get better perspective on the whole situation.

Mala was now just coming out of the house, wearing the only swimsuit she had - which was quite skimpy in itself.

"I'm sure I would've eventually. They say danger tends to bring people together, and I used to be quite the magnet for trouble between most of the gods giving me death glares from above." Van said with a smile. "Gods I'm glad neither of you will ever have to meet."

Right after that, thankfully having not heard a thing, Mala approached the group. "I...uh...sorry for taking so long." she said, looking away in embarassment. It had been quite some time since she wore the swimsuit, or pretty much anything skimpy outside the bedroom for awhile now.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"What, forgot how to put it on?" Van joked with a teasing grin.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"No!" Mala protested, her face keeping a red shade for the longest while. After a few secconds she explained, "I just forgot how revealing this thing is..."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I would like to note that, one, you're the one who picked it out, and two, it's just us here. Who are you afraid of showing off to? The trees?" Van teased.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"But it's been years since I've worn it!" Mala said, hesitantly approaching the water and becoming all the more embarassed with Van's taunting.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"That might have been a viable excuse for your embarrassment had you not kept the looks of a young twenty year old for the past five hundred years." Van said easily as he folded his arms.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"So you're saying I would be ugly had I not remained this way?" Mala asked, an eyebrow raised.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"....Can I get a multiple choice answer?" Van said with a nervous sweatdrop.

 

[M3Gnificent]

Mala was, by now, quite irked. "Oh, piss off!" she exclaimed, turning around to storm off.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Mala! Oh, that wasn't what I meant!" Van called after her before letting himself sink into the water up to his nose in gloom.

"Oo, way to go dad." Kai teased with an expression of shaudenfreude.
