 Vadim is a lover, not a fighter. A pacifist by nature, he strives to find the middle ground in a debate and work towards a solution through diplomacy. Discussion and compromise are his tools when dealing with disputes; although, he understands that there is a time and place for fighting as well. Yes, not everything can be solved in a cordial manner, but that doesn’t stop him from trying the peaceful way first. Don’t misunderstand him, however. Just because he is partial to tranquility doesn’t mean is a pushover. Vadim can fight as well as any defender in his herd. His words and weapons are equally sharpened.

 1. Peace and Harmony- Vadim is a young foal. He has barely grasped onto the concept of life and understanding the ins and outs it brings. But there is one thing he fully comprehends- he knows how to compromise. A disturbance in the family helps him realize gift for diplomacy. (Note: the disturbance won’t be anything major. Possibly a squabble between his siblings or some other family members. It’ll be just enough for him to recognize his gift.)
2. Violence and Discord- Vadim is a young adult when he has his first truly violent encounter. The individuals don’t wish to see reason. He struggles to find some sort of middle ground with them, but nothing is working. When his usual tools of discussion and compromise fail, things take a turn for the violent and Vadim must react. (Note: this encounter was kept vague because I didn’t want to assume any actions against the family as a whole from outside parties. But it could be something like that or he can have a solo encounter outside of the family’s territory.)
3. Diplomats and Warriors- Vadim meets another around his age. They are a warrior who believes that might makes right. He, of course, sees things differently. So, he puts his skills to use as he tries to show the validity of his stance. It won’t be easy, possibly impossible, though he has to try. (Note: this will lead to them becoming friends, which will then move on to the following plot.)
4. Friends and Lovers- Vadim has come to care for the warrior, as the warrior has come to care for him. Their verbal and physical sparring sessions have become some of the best times either could imagine. And now, as more time passes, the two find themselves being drawn even closer together. It’s a spark of something more, something terrifying yet amazing.
5. Note: Depending on how things progress, Vadim may have a plot where he and his lover have their first set of children either killed or assumed to be so. If I go this route, it will make Vadim question himself in a couple of ways. Ultimately, it will take his family’s support, his own internal strength, and the love he shares with his mate to weather the storm. He and his mate will accept their loss and will be more protective of subsequent foals.
6. Additional Note: Should the above plot happen, and the first baskets in fact survive, there could be a reunion plot to develop.
