Slightly thrown off by the question Kagae took slightly too long to respond,
"Yes... I would very like to go first... At least you're calmer than my last opponent..."

Kagae immediately moved a knight into a very aggressive position in hopes to throw kyumi off.

Kyumi would think for a moment before deciding on what her move might be. She hadn't expected him to be so aggressive on his first turn.

For now, she was content to move one of her pawns forward in order to clear the way for her rook.

Kagae would keep try to keep the pressure up using his powerful pieces to herd the pawns about.

"...I'm sorry about this.. I am mostly just annoyed from my... Previous match and may be taking it out on you..."

Kyumi would stare down at the board as she searched for the next move to make. She'd ultimately decide that, instead of bringing out another pawn that she would bring forward her knight instead.

"Ah thank you... Are you familiar with strategums? I heard you had won the.. Shugenja competition..."

Kaiu notices the knight being quite vulnerable and takes it with a rook. Then he observed the board some more in the scenario of any pieces sneaking up on his.

Kyumi would pout a little at her knight having been removed from the board, but would soldier on.

"I know a few, but... Most of my training has more focused on healing and communing with the spirits." Kyumi would answer as she made her next move. She would move her rook forward, going as far as she thought she safely could.

Once again as the rook was moved forward a knight appeared and took it. All was seemingly going to plan.

"Kind of like... A Kuni then... Right?"

"I..." She would pause to think for a moment before continuing. "I suppose so... I'm afraid to admit that I don't know that much about your clan..."

The fact that she was quickly losing important pieces was starting to frustrate Kyumi, but she did her best not to make this apparent. This time, she would go back to moving one of her pawns forward.

This time Kagae started some really complex manoeuvres which would confuse even the most aware.

Kyumi would stare at board for a moment, trying to figure out what the heck was Kagae was even doing. All she could tell was that he was capturing her pieces and she didn't like it at all. She would let out a quiet grumble of frustration and start looking a little more puffier than she had when the match had begun.

Finally, she would eventually make her move, choosing to work more towards defending her king than capturing any pieces.

Kagae immediately lay siege to her defenses. The wait begins!

Kyumi would look up from the board in surprise. "No, no! I'm not offended in the slightest! I've just been thinking is all..." She would reassure him. "I have to say though... I'm very glad that I didn't have to play your first opponent!"Kyumi would add with a laugh.

She would then look back down to the board for a minute or two. Her hand would hover over one piece and then another as she would internally debate which move to make next. With some hesitance, she'd move her bishop across the board.

It was a trap! The bishop had now left another piece unguarded and it was viciously assaulted for this.
