I've lost many pets
one of the most recent and very special to me was:
Baby Blue Eyes
July 20, 2006-August 23, 2007
she was a half siamese half tabby cat (she had the siamese markings and blue eyes-hence her name)
she was like a mix of dog, cat, human, squirrel, rabbit, and meerkat
she would wait for me by the door when I got home from school and give me sandpaper kisses
she would climb onto the kitchen cupboards
she would randomly run helter skelter throughout the house
she would talk to me all the time
she would sit up on her hind legs like a meerkat sentry if she heard a noise in the other room
she is greatly missed
we were forced to put her down after the vet found a tumor in her abdomen when we brought her in b/c she had started to pee outside the litter box, the vet said that she had the tumor since she was born and that the vet who had fixed her should've found it then and then she might have been saved crying

1. Baron Von Link - Link was my mom's Dachshund, but he was mine. He lived to be 13 years old before he got run over by a car. Link loved to bite at the water coming from a garden hose, loved to swim, and he looked so funny when he ran!

2. Gustav Von August - Gus was my brother's Schnauzer, but he was mine. He lived to be 16, when his body started shutting down on him and we had to put him to sleep. We trained Gus to do tricks using hand signals and would give him Cheerios for reward. He would go through all of his tricks (not using hand signs!) for one stupid Cheerio!

3. Tinker Belle - Tinker was my calico cat. She lived to be 17 years old, when her body started to fail her, and we had to put her to sleep. Tink used to bring me "presents" consisting of the mice she used to catch.

4. Star and Comet - two grey dwarf hamsters (brothers) that lived to be 5 and 7 years old before they each died of old age. They loved to be in that plastic ball so they could roll around the house!

5. Ginger - She was my Cocker Spaniel-Poodle mix. Ginger lived to be 5 days short of 15 years old. We had to put her to sleep due to complications of heart failure. Ginger was my buddy ... she followed me around from room to room to room and was always under foot. She just loved to wear her sweater during the cold winter months!

6. Various goldfish and other freshwater tank fish.

On another note, I currently have two cats who are alive and well. Kyo is a Siamese mix and he is about 7 years old now. He is from Louisianna and is one of the "Katrina Pets" that were sent up this way after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in 2005. After fostering him for a couple of months, we were allowed to adopt him. Kyo is quite the talker, especially when he is hungry, and he loves to sit in my lap!

And Smokey is a mischievous calico that gets into EVERYTHING! She is about 4 years old and was my uncle's cat. We took her in after he died last year. Smokey is very quiet and is learning to warm up to me, especially around feeding times, but she is still quite skittish. She most definitely keeps Kyo on his toes!

I will more that likely always have pets around me for as long as I can care for them. For some odd reason, I have what I call "animal magnetism", where pets are always gravitating towards me, whether they are mine or not! I know that someday, all my pets will be waiting for me so we can all cross that "Rainbow Bridge" together! 3nodding

Edited, Summer 2013: 2 new additions to my group of felines! Widget and Oreo, black and white kittens, born late February/early March, 2013. See pics of the brothers HERE! 4laugh

I sadly don't remember them, but three pets in my lifetime have passed. Oddly, it was all around when I was age 3.

R.I.P. Bebop was a loving black and white cat, who had 2 funny quirks. First, she would fetch. Second, she would let you scratch her with a marker, even though it showed up on her, she loved how it felt. She died of old age, and will be deeply missed.

R.I.P. Otis was a black labrador retriever, who never was greatly trained. One day, before I was born, two kids came up to our door with him and said that he was a stray, nobody wanted him, and we could have him for free. We instantly fell in love with him and took him in as part of the family. One sad night, he started whining and walking in circles. He wet himself, and my dad knew something was wrong, and let him out. As we rushed him to the vet, he died in my dad's arms. Turns out he had a stroke. He will be lovingly missed.

R.I.P. Calhoun was a very sweet Basset Hound. He would "Sing", like many hounds do, and his favorite songs were "Hound Dog" By Elvis presley, and "RRRubber Biscuit" by I don't know who. He would start howling the second he heard them. He was never fully potty trained. He would bark once at the door and before we could even open it, he'd think "I asked you" and just go in the house. He died of cancer, about the same time as otis, and we love him and miss him.

Bebop, Otis, and Calhoun, I hope you are enjoying the rainbow bridge, and we will sometime meet again there.

The only too pets that ever died while I was alive were Chance,my dwarf bunny.Died of a ripe old age of 12. And Caramel, the hamster,my first pet ever.Died at the age of 3.I think its because we had him on pine bedding. He died while I was away on vacation...

My little girl Nami - She died from having multiple seizures. I didn't have enough time to get her to the vet before she passed on. She was my best friend, and she saved my life.. COUNTLESS times. Before I had her in my life, I used to be extremely depressed. I fought countless battles before she came. She brought light into my life and those short years I had with her will remain with me forever. Though I still cry over her loss, she's still with me in memories. heart I hope you're resting well now Nami bby.

Inga, my beautiful rottweiler.... I miss her so much. She survived tumors for so long, but on Labor day in '06 her time had come... She died in her sleep, and for that, I'm thankful. My darling Inga....my darling Inga...
