Tried asking on the Gaia forum but no one replied...

I see items that say 2nd Gen, 3rd Gem, ect. What does it mean? I see that some of the items have more options for how they look, and others don't.

Those are evolving items. You buy it, and over time it changes into something else. Its wierd...its kinda confusing to me too, I really don't bother getting them.

First Generation items are the furthers evolved.....then 2nd and so forth

That's basically how it works. First Gen items are released in the Cash Shop. As soon as they evolve into their next form they start selling Second Gen items. With each evolution they release a new generation. So with items that evolve once every three weeks, there's a new item generation every three weeks, while items that evolve at random week intervals, you'll have different generations to match. The only difference really is that First Gen items reach maximum evolution first, followed by each generation after it, also First Gen is generally worth more in the Marketplace to collectors.

I usually buy my from the marketplace. Someone is always selling the cash shop items.

What gripes me is that it takes a long time (several weeks) for an Evolving Item (no matter what Gen it is) to fully evolve! However as they say: "Patience is a virtue." Has anyone noticed how spendy Evolving Items are in Marketplace? Outrageous!
