I'm sure most of you know the meanings in colors in roses but I discovered a few "newer" ones I hadn't even considered...
RED - love, beauty and deeper feelings
ORANGE - desire and enthusiasm or passion/excitement
YELLOW - warmth and happiness, friendship
BLUE - love far away or rare beauty
PURPLE - enchantment, love at first sight
WHITE - innocence, new beginnings or honor
GREEN - as I've only seen these dyed or at Irish celebrations I can only think they stand for a pride in your heritage (any other ideas?)
BLACK - while sometimes a scary message (ending a relationship,etc.)I've found several sites a that claim that it's also a symbol of starting over (as long as NOT paired with white)

Roses make me smile... One of my favorite love icons is about roses.

Thanks for sharing. XD I especially love the blue rose and the meaning just made it all the more exquisite. heart
Maybe it's just me, but I always thought that white roses meant death or something similar to that sentiment. Anybody else feel the same?

ooh cool! hmmm. so we know that each host has a rose that represents them. So...
Haruhi: red: love, beauty and deeper feelings
o_O well makes sense though, even though she wouldn't admit it.
Hikaru: orange: desire, enthusiam, passion/excitement.
oh that so fits him!!! [did I get this right?]
Renge: yellow: warmth and happiness, friendship
O_O warmth? happiness? Renge? really?
Mori: blue: love far away or rare beauty
Mori is a rare beauty alright! wink
Kyoya: purple: enchantment, love at first sight
yeah, how many girls were enchanted by him at first sight. this so fits him!
Tamaki: white: innocence, new beginnings or honor
hmmm...honor i can see, clearly. He is sincere with the ladies. not to mention he does help other couples. in fact, by helping other couples, doesn't he give new beginnings? this fits him quite well!
Kaoru: green? (he doesn't have a color. crying ) pride? aww poor guy...well his color is based off of blue so...
blue: far away love or rare beauty. XD well, his personality, the fact that he'll do anything for Hikaru is rare a rare beauty in it self. And I suppose that if you analyze the twins relationship over the anime/manga, you can see that they are drifting apart, aka far away love.
Nekozawa sempai: {<--- right name?} black: scary message.
...well he did look scary dressed in all black or when he held up the flash light under his face. blaugh
XD well, after taking the fun out of the anime and making it into an english assignment, it's interesting to see that the rose colors match up the personalities of MOST characters. Any one have any other interpretations?

Purple is one of my favorite colors!
But you forgot PINK!
Pink: As a symbol of grace and elegance, the pink rose is often given as an expression of admiration. Pink roses can also convey appreciation as well as joyfulness. Pink rose bouquets often impart a gentler meaning than their red counterparts.

Blue is totally my favorite color of rose. 4laugh I think Mori has the blue rose because a lot of things i have read say that blue is the mode of cool and relaxed. Mori is never hyper but always relaxed by the look of it. rolleyes
