Personality:
Karius grew up in a family where his affectionate sister would shower him with physical affection, taking him to be her "favorite & beloved" brother. She also stalks him constantly, not allowing him to wander out of her sight - all this led to him not really understanding the concept of "private/personal space". He is prone to nuzzles, snugs, cuddles... If he likes you. To him, a nuzzle and a snuggle is the same thing; he enjoys physical contact, and can't understand why anyone would hate it.
While he acknowledges the fact that everyone (from animals to Soquili) have five senses and emotions, he tends to look at those outside of his family as "works of art", with physical flaws he can't just "fix". As such, he might randomly blurt out things like "I think your wings should be yellow rather than red, to go with your eyes." or "If only your hair was orange!" Having said that, he can get along with you, but unless he sees you as family (or a friend close to him like family), he can't see past physical "flaws". For family, he sees them as "people" like him - imperfectly perfect in their own little ways, because he truly loves them.
While he might appear to be child-like and immature, Karius knows more about the world than he lets on; he just doesn't see the need to look serious all the time like his brother. While it is true that he is no philosopher and does some pretty whacky things that shows a lack of common sense, he is good at listening and might sometimes surprise you with his rather unique point of view of the world.
History:
One of the many children born to Krad and Thorn, Karius had been living with his mother, brother from the same batch and only sister since birth, away from three other brothers and his father. However, his father had always made it a point to visit them often with the rest of the family, resulting in a rather close-knitted family unit. In fact, he grew up wondering why his parents had to live separately when they are obviously still in love with each other. However, it was just one of those questions he never found a chance to ask.
As a foal, it was obvious that he was his mother and sister's favorite, holding a close resemblance to Krad with his golden pelt and hair. In contrast, the brother who he grew up with - Cain - was literally the "black sheep" of the family, with his dark pelt. Thus, since young, Karius had gotten all the attention. However, perhaps he subconsciously sensed his brother's loneliness, but in turn, he showered Cain with love and attention... And plenty of nuzzles.
As he grew and learnt to fly, getting away from his stalker, wingless sister became easy. With this newfound freedom, Karius grew to love flying as much as exploring the surroundings he grew up in, performing simple acrobatic arts in the air.
