How do you become a pirate?

Are you talking about the Pirate Set which gives a footspeed bonus?


Step 1: Acquire the Hack, Slash, Shark Attack, and Keen Aye rings
Step 2: Choose a hand (either the first 4 ring slots or the last 4)
Step 3: Put all four rings on that side


If you're doing it right, the rings will glow.

I think what he means is the pirates at the boardwalk. You cannot become a pirate is this current version of the game. BUT, when the rest of it is finished, there might be a quest where you can become one and sail with them to the next part of the game at Isle de Gambino.
