To make a long story short, here is the situation:
I've known this guy for almost three years, but only online.
We care about one another and I truly do trust him.
He wants to send me a promise ring, kind of to prove and show that he really does want to wait for me,
and have a real, a serious relationship with me.
We've chatted on the phone once.
He at a family member's house, and I on my cell phone.
He knows the state that I live in, my home school, the fact that I attend classes at a local technical college,
and because we are friends on both Facebook and Myspace,
he could probably deduct from my friends the area in which I live.
I really don't need material things to know that he cares about me,
but he really wants to send me a promise ring.
He understands if I am uncomfortable with giving him the information he would need to do so.
I'm just confused, I guess.
I'm still a minor, and my parents still open every package and letter I recieve whether it be from a college or whatever.
I have yet to tell them about him, or fill them in on the situation, and he knows this and that I do not plan on doing so any time soon.
At least, not until I am 18 and they can no longer direct my life.
So, the thing I need advice about, I guess, is the situation in general.
What should I do?
Should I give him my information?
Should I just further explain to him that it is not a good idea, or that I am not entirely ready for that,
although I do want to have a serious relationship with him when the time comes?
Do I really need to fill my parents in on every aspect of my life?
