How does your soq fit in with the plot?: Chen is a traveler, but he mostly sticks to the open plains. Perhaps he's wandered into the mountains near the teepee for the first time and gets into some trouble, like the storm causes a large branch to pin one of his legs, and he, as per usual, is a little tipsy, hence the trouble getting unpinned.
Anything Else: If a love interest were to result, it would have to be just a fling. Chen might be willing to stay around for a while, possibly even help raise the foals, but he would take off again at some point.
