Yeah I hated that line in the anime
It was so dumb
I think they just did it for a last second OMG really moment
Shock Value.
I'm glade they kept that out of the manga
it doesn't make any sense.
Sure she's smart
There are a lot of smart commoners
Sure his dad wants him to marry someone smart
your telling me there isn't one decently intelligent girl with a
a family line and money that's a better choice?
I don't believe it. Why take half the goods when with
the Otoori money and status they can have the whole package.
Though if his dad pushed it I think kyouya would have quite a decision to make
It'd be one of those epic battles for his soul
dose he betray his best friend and try to steal the girl?
Or dose he stick with his heart and refuse dooming himself to
never achieving what he wants out of life?
It'd be fun to watch.

I think it's possible that Kyouya has feelings for Tamaki, for the same reasons other people have stated, and also the fact that his character song, "Tsumetai Yoru," is most certainly about his relationship with Tamaki when translated. It's obvious that, platonic or no, Tamaki is the person he feels most strongly about - at any rate, that is the pattern of Ouran character songs. Mori sings to Honey, the twins sing to each other, Honey mentions Mori in his song though it's mostly self centered (accurate), Tamaki's... well, a bit hard to decipher, but he's stupid when it comes to love, so the song is like that because he doesn't know himself.
I like Kyouya x Tamaki.
I know it's canon that Tamaki likes her, but I wish Haruhi had ended up with Mori. XD But that's a different topic altogether.

when did that idea come out? yaoi my fellow gaian. yaoi. but you have to admit, they make a cut couple
