Do you like owl city?

most people i know don't like owl city because their songs don't make sense, it's on the verge of putting them to sleep behind the wheel, and they just don't like the general flavor of it. comments i've heard are 'they try too hard to sound meaningful' 'the singer needs to get some cajones' and 'see what drugs and sleep deprivation does to you?'
me honestly? i could care less either way. i don't have any intention of buying their album, but i'll live through it. i'm having fun rubbing it in to somebody's face. that fun'll be gone when they stop playing 'fireflies' on the radio

I like Owl City very, very much because it sounds happy. A lot of music I've heard lately doesn't sound like anyone was very happy when they made it. I'm also very fond of the curious stories in the lyrics, even if they aren't particularly logical.

As far as saccharine Pop goes, I still like Aqua more.
Owl City could be quite a bit worse, though.
Haven't heard much of the thing on the radio, but then, I don't often listen to the radio.

BTW! For those of you who don't know, there is only one official member of owl city; Adam Young. Some songs feature other singers, such as Breanne Düren and Matt Thiessen as backup.

No, I do not. They are kinda refreshing from the stale popular American music I try to ignore so much. Fireflies wasn't too bad. It's their best song though. And sadly, that's not saying much.
I don't listen to lyrics when I listen to music. I listen to the beat, melody and rhythm it's why I can listen to a 10 minute song without a single word spoken in the entire thing.

I like them. I dislike a lot of the people, though, who like him because of Fireflies and that's it.

Fireflies ISN'T random! (music video kind of is, but ... not the point) Most people don't get it D< Fireflies=thoughts/memories.
Fireflies just sounded better, beat and word wise.

Owl City is awesome. I love their songs even if I don't understand some of it... I even have their album 'Ocean Eyes'... Adam Young rocks. I never get tired of hearing the songs over and over again...
