[ "私は永遠に、あなたを待っている残るよ..."] Hey all,
I was just wondering if anyone has any hearty crock pot recipes. I'll be cooking for my brother-in-laws and they're BIG guys. I'm looking for something hearty and rustic. If anyone has any good ones, lemme know!
TY! biggrin
EDIT: Just realized there's a thread out already on this. I feel silly - Feel free to delete this thread. 3nodding

We already have a thread for this but...
Chicken and Potatoes
Boneless, Skinless Chicken breasts (However many you need) About 8 red potatoes 1 stick of butter 1/2 a yellow onion (chopped) Assorted spices (I use paprika, garlic powder or fresh garlic, rosemary and basil)
Put about 1 1/2 cups of water into the pot, then put the chicken in and spice it. Slice the butter into thin tabs and place over the chicken--only use 1/2 the stick. Let cook for about 1/2 an hour.
Then thinly slice the potatoes, and lay over the top of the chicken. Use the rest of the butter, thinly slicing tabs and then spice the potatoes. Let cook until the potatoes are turning golden brown.
Sorry it's not exact but, I make it up as I go along...

--Anorexic beauty queen, with painted eyes so toxic...--
six or seven boneless chicken breast cut up into bite sizes. a couple cans of cream of mushroom. Cook until the chicken is ready.
Use it on plain white rice for something that goes a long way, that is very filling.

My mom's favorite crock pot recipe (I didn't post this in my own thread xd ) is pretty hearty. My dad loves it. It's also really simple.
All you need is a box of Zattarain's rice, whatever type you like (I usually use black beans and rice) and cooked meat, again, whatever you want. My mom usually uses beef, I usually use chicken. Dump the Zattarain's in the pot, add whatever else the box tells you to for preparing it (I think it's just a little oil or butter...). Add AT LEAST the amount of water that the box calls for, but I usually add another 1/4 cup or so. Throw the cooked meat in on top. Stir it a few times, put the lid on, let it cook all day. The rice already has spices and seasonings in it, so it's really yummy. It's one of my favorite cold-weather warm-you-up-from-the-inside meals. I usually throw a bunch of cheese on it when I eat it, but I throw cheese on almost everything. smile

Red beans and rice!
Let red beans sit in the pot over night then boil them the next day till they get soft. Once they seem kinda ready put sausage and sliced ham into it. Really it works with seafood too which taste awesome. Its simple and taste awesome. Og and in case you didn't know the meal requires cooked rice for the beans to go over
