If I were a teacher, I would give 'em a 0 and keep it, so during confrences they can read to mummy and daddy their beautiful works of art. In current form, of course, no translations.

LOL talk about world corruption. pretty disgraceful to the human race if you ask me. its important for everyone to learn proper english. i dont even use text talk while IMing or texting, except for lol and maybe brb. i realize that its faster, and maybe more efficient for people in a rush, and language does develop differently over time. text talk might just evolve into typical human language in the future.
but i still think that its wrong in the classroom and proposterous to turn in what should a professional essay, in text talk.

i hate it when people text or write to me in numbers and words that sometimes make me have a migraines for trying to decode it.
i have friends who type me this:
$#1t ppl $4y t0 m3# ........... can you read this 'cause i can't not even a bit, so i type back to my friends and say " write proper English"
a couple of errors i understand
but using text talk in school is outright stupid. what if you write an essay to your professor and they see a bunch of symbols they would honestly piss on it then put it on fire because it's not worth to read illiterate writing.

In current form, of course, no translations. my teachers at my school actually do that to students at back to school night it's hilarious when you could see the kids faces in emberrasment

I hate text talk and text talk users that think themselves are cool. It is an insult towards English. evil I can understand how annoying is the long-ish text when typing message on the cell phone, but when it comes to writing or doing literature, no, just no.
I need to understand text talk like a newbie. I can even understand Russian and Tibietan easier than understanding text talk. Like, I only learned that "IRL" is the short form of "In real life" recently. English is a nice language. I don't know why people wants to change it to something that not even counted as words.
If we use text talk in our school, we'd get reading out loud the phrase like "I liek co0Ki3zz" to "I li-aek co-zero-capital K-i-three-z-z". And then rewrite the essay or work with doubled words-limit.
I never like text talk. It spoils.

Matron Mord Sith I'm disgusted with today's youth. They need to pay more attention in class and they need to stop butchering the English language. This. I hate sharing the same generation with them. Kids these days are so.. ugh. I shouldn't say it. It's not all of them, but it's a big majority. I pay attention in class and use the English language properly - so should everyone else in school.

English class is about using proper English.
There is absolutely no point in using text talk in your English Class.
It ruins the purpose.
