Papaw, you were like a father to me. No, you were a father to me. When my so-called parents refused to take care of me, you did. Because of you, my childhood was the best childhood a little girl could ever ask for. You made me smile. You made me laugh. You made me who I am. Thank you Papaw, for all the good times we shared. For all the walks we took. For all the "loafering" we did. For all the jokes you told. For just being there. I'm saddened by your loss, but I shall rest easy knowing that those hideous lung tumors will never, ever cause you any more pain.
