So for my graduation present my parents are sending me to Ireland.
I'm so excited it's not even funny.
My mom is going to contact some family we have there and see if I can stay with them.
But I'll be staying in hostels as well.
(I'm going on my own)

But I need to get a new passport.
Why?
My old one has my old last name.
(As soon as I turned 18 I legally changed my last name to the guy my mom has been with since I was 1 year old.
We weren't able to find my birth father, so my "step"dad wasn't able to adopt me.
But now everything is the way they were meant to be.)

But with the name change I need to change all my legal documents.
Like my birth certificate and my Social security card.
I need those changed so I am able to get an ID and a passport.
And then I can get my license and go on my trip.

Isn't is funny how one thing leads to another.
(And now you have that cheesy 80's song stuck in your head.)

Wow, that's awesome that your parents are willing to send you to Ireland. My cousin went there at the start of the year and had a blast (:

I hate how complicated things like passports are. I think it's stupid over here how sometimes a drivers license is more credible than a passport, when the passport is harder to get.

I've heard the same thing here.
My friend tried to get some smokes with his passport and the owners wouldn't let him.
Silly.

OMG COME VISIT ME.
SRSLY.
By the way, if you're in Dublin and looking for a hostel, Issac's is fantastic and it's right beside the bus station should you decide to come up to Belfast for a day -nudge nudge-
wink

I will totally try.
And I'll let my parents know about that hostel.
There's no doubt I'll be in Dublin, since most of my family is there.
I'm gonna try to go everywhere.
(Which will probably be impossible, but I will try!)

Seriously, it's such an awesome hostel. I stayed there when we went down to Dublin for a trampoline competition. The only downside is that our room was right beside a DART line so we could hear the trains going past every half an hour from like 6am gonk
