I think in the next book they should see each other for a short time but for some reason Fang will have to leave her. Then in the next book they should get back together and then Max will find out some dark secret about something that Fang did or something a scientist did to him (Assuming he'd been captured again in the time they were separated.)

Due to a theory of mine that Dylan is just a part of the scientists' plan to use Max's "destiny to save the world" to create their vision of the perfect world, I think it would be best for Max and Fang to get back together because it will give her a reason to truly realize her "destiny."
