All Hellma had done was take a little nap. Ok, it was a cider-inspired nap on the floor. Maybe less of a "nap" and more of a "passout." But with the suddenly influx of new students she had reason.

It was obvious to the professor that the Acceptance Bin had stolen yet another application from her massive inbox. Waking up hungover on the office floor? Well, that was pretty par for course. Waking up paralyzed with the Bin on her chest? Not so much.

Nicknames: Generally known as Leo to all and sundry; occasionally her aunt will attempt to convert this into the more feminine Nora, much to Leo's consternation.

Personality:
Leo is a very serious young lady and, granted, sometimes her seriousness is directed towards the wrong things - like her hobby horse, defending her height (lack thereof) or even convincing people on the many virtues of wearing plaid - but Leo is, at heart, serious in everything she does and says. Much to the occasional consternation of her surroundings. Some say that she was simply born a tactless a**, but that's not entirely true; Leo is well aware of what tact is, she just doesn't see the point in using it. Why bother to even open your mouth if you're just going to fudge up the meaning so you won't offend someone? Be straight up and stand by your opinions, that's the way to get up in the world!

Well, no, it isn't, but she hasn't really figured that out yet. She is, in some ways, still quite naïve and it is often very evident that she's just a teenager. Leo still believes in Dreadfully Ever Afters, doing the Wrong Thing and Helping Out Your Fellow Spook (all capital letters fully intended, thank you very much!), and that anything wrong with the world can be fixed with a bit of hard work and some spirit.

Which, of course, she has plenty of.

Why did they enroll at the academy?
Because at the bottom of her heart, she truly, honestly believes in the value of education. Or not - her family enrolled her, on account of it being the best thing for a young monster to do with her time. Leo just hopes to escape somewhat unscathed.

Natural Ability: Mares are able to paralyze any creature by sitting on their chest; provided that they have one, of course. This tends to be an irresistible lure when passing by any person conveniently lying down, making for some very awkward sleep-overs.

Fear: Leo is able to manipulate an opponent's hair during combat, with varying degrees of success. The longer the hair, the easier to manipulate - currently she hasn't got much use for this other than the occasional small cut, although prior victims have complained of dreadful snarls for days afterwards.
