Name: Victoria Bridget Cromwell
Nicknames: Usually Vic, rarely Vicky, more often Barnaclehead
Gender: Female
Age: 14

Faction/Race Ghost - Pirate
Natural Ability: Ghost ships don't come from nowhere, nor do the spooky and fantastic abilities that come with it (sailing swiftly without wind, staying afloat despite a gaping hole in the hull, creating foreboding mists, and so on.) It's not the ability of a single ghost pirate, but the entire crew combined which provides the power which creates the ship and the related supernatural effects; each crew member contributes with their natural ability in some manner. As a result, when away from the ship, some ghost pirates may seem to have no natural ability at all.

Personality: Vic is probably the worst pirate, ever. At glance, it isn't so bad - she's loudmouthed and exuberant, can spin yarns with the best of 'em, lacks basic table manners, and has poor diction. She reveres her Captain like a God, and is loyal to ship and crew with every fiber of her (non-)being. When it comes to pillaging and looting and all that pirate-y stuff, she throws herself into it one hundred and eleven percent - no fault to be had there!

However, there's still some special "something" she lacks. What's it called... ah, yes. Competence. She can't tie a knot; she can't climb the rigging. She can't even really fight properly, since her cutlass rusted into its sheath a long time ago. She forgets the words to sea shanties, and she falls asleep on lookout. The last time that she swabbed the decks, a rough wave unsteadied her and mop, bucket, and the first mate all wound up in the drink! Beyond that, Vic is navigationally challenged. She's constantly winding up in every place but where she wants to be. She's also a bit of a compulsive liar - any chance she sees for self-aggrandization, she takes, and the truth be damned. Although she's an old hand at gambling, that's pretty much just to say that she rolls the dice a lot (which is likely why her crew has tolerated her for so long - they've been enriched by the experience, you might say).

All in all, Vic's good for a laugh... as long as you don't get too close to her blunders. But at the very least, she's sincere, determined, and anything but shy - all the makings of a decent pirate, if she could just get her act together!

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? As mentioned: Vic is probably the worst pirate, ever. The fact that she was just a cabin boy when the ship went down might have something to do with it; it's hard to learn new tricks once you're in your afterlife, especially when you're around the same ghost crew, on the same ghost ship, seemingly living out the same day, year after year. Change doesn't come quickly in an environment like that. Vic tries her best, but inevitably, she makes mistakes - the same ones, over and over again. When the captain calls hard to port, she's the one rigging it up for starboard; if she's to be on look-out, she'll be too busy picking fights with seagulls to notice a mast rising to the west. The worst of it all, however, is that when it comes to piracy on the high seas, Vic is... underwhelming. She just hasn't got what it takes to be a pirate, as much as she tries.

Figuring the problem (it only took him a few decades, once he paid it any attention at all), the Captain docked the Double-Edged Saber long enough to send her ashore to get schooled proper-like, in the hopes that when the phantom ship makes port again in Amityville next year, she'll be ready to join the crew - or else, at least have enough progress to show that she might be able to make it, someday.

FEAR: Imagine a mop. Just a rag of cloth on the end of a splintery stick, right? Now imagine a ghost mop. Imagine a ghost mop that's more than two centuries old. It's been sitting in the same ghost bucket of nasty ghost water for two ******** centuries. Soaked in goo, it possesses a stench that can be only described as otherworldly. Somewhere during its long afterlife, the mop may or may not have gained sentience. It certainly became animate, with a tendency to cling squid-like to things that it touches. Vic swears it bit her once.

That is Vic's FEAR ability - she can summon it to her. And god help you if she uses it on you. It will wrap its tendrils around you and cling. Just a normal hit will leave a trail of slime that may or may not cause a rash later on, but if she gets you in the face with it (and she ALWAYS tries to get you in the face with it), then by the time you can pry it off, the horrific smell will have left you nauseous and stunned, or even have put you into a dead faint if you're a person of higher sensibilities (or sensitivity, for you poor sharp-scented canines out there).

User ImagePhysical Description: A skinny kid, just baaaarely recognizable as a female. Sadly, possesses all teeth, eyes, and limbs - she rather wishes she didn't, thinking it might give her more cred.
Eye Colour: Light blue, with dark circles underneath.
Hair Colour/Style: Black, straight, chin-length. Tied mostly back from her face, but otherwise unstyled.
Skin Colour: Ghostly pale, what else? Tinged blue around her lips.
Clothing Style/Colours: Masculine, cheap, ragged. Also wears a bandana at all times. She'd choose to go for brighter colors, but the colors bleed out fast once they're on her for so long because of her sogginess.
Extra: Vic is constantly soaked through with cold saltwater - her hair looks like she just came out of a bath, her clothes are always dripping water, and even her boots leave a bit of wet in her wake. When school is not in session, she has a ragged, beat-up cutlass that she likes to threaten people with when she's mad but can't really use because it is rusted into the scabbard - however, it was confiscated when she arrived at school.
