[Solo RP] The Witching Moon Does Beckon - Part 1
Word Count - 850

The passage of time between the (un!)acceptance of her fate and the second high moon was all too quick, yet it dragged and dug at Sarias until she could barely stand for it. The twisted thoughts clawed at the back of her mind during school classes, derby practice, even her dreams were racked with Fear where before she saw nothing behind those closed eyes other than darkness that consumed her.

And yet time was a cruel mistress when she wanted and the weeks leading up to her punishment flowed by seamlessly without even a hint of what was in store. Sarias could almost pretend that the letter had never arrived as if its words were not burnt into her mind. Yet like some many things, she couldn’t stop this from happening, she couldn’t control this, not this time.

The evening of the second high moon rose to become a beautiful orb above the sky line, its unfiltered light illuminating the school grounds like a spotlight just for them. Even the mist parted ways to allow it to seep through unfussed and pure. But the beauty of night ripe for picking Damsenwort could not tear Sarias eyes away from her drawn pentagram on the bedroom floor. Its pointed angles and measured sections had been haphazardly drawn compared to the usual loving treatment it received from her. But she felt no kinship towards her circle this night, it was a pathway to her judgement, her unjust punishment for being apart of a Coven that brought her to this world. Saved her.

It wasn’t long before it started to hum, the magic that seeped this place to the bone reacted to the calling of the Coven. It stirred the edges of her pentagram, made it move and glow as if life flowed through it. The feathers she had placed in the North West section began to float and twist as if a sudden air had captured them in its grasp. The bones laid down in the south east rattled and danced to an unheard beat. Gems and stones, the blessed water, all reacted to the ritual as Sarias leaned back on the wall, looking…well unimpressed. It wasn’t the first time she had seen a portal being created and it certainly wouldn’t be the last. In a far corner of her mind she remembered her acceptance ceremony, held at the Sanctuary of Avellia, named after one of the most influential priestess in her Coven’s history. There she had stepped into a portal afraid and awash with awe. Now she couldn’t even be arsed to watch it churn out the shadows into her room.

The Mother Verity had sent two handmaidens to escort her to the premises of her punishment. A location unknown to all except the most esteemed Coven members – there had been an unfortunate business of other beings trying to save their judged loved ones from their fate – silly notions of romantic heroism but rarely, just sometimes, it had worked. Traitors. Trash. They were deemed scum to their sisters and if found they would receive the ultimate penalty, all the Mensa’s in the world sounded appealing to what it entailed. The horror stories kept the young banshee maids in check.

Sarias allowed the handmaidens to claps her wrists in wreaths of bright light, chained to them by an unbreakable bond she was lead back through the portal, her eyes hungrily searching her room for something far more interesting than where she was being lead. There was nothing and a huff of frustration escaped her parted lips. Dam, she would had to be looking forward instead of somewhere else, with her hands tied she couldn’t even inspect her nails. She didn’t want to see the look on that snivelling cow when she re-emerged though the portal. She could see it now, the spiteful b***h, all prim and proper but her features dripping in gloat and amusement. The bile ran up her throat as she thought of that face, how she wanted to wipe it of with a fist.

A Handmaid, face hidden behind a veil of netting, tugged on the wreath hard. Sarias had stopped unknowingly to contemplate the portal in front of her and in doing so had started to anger the servants that had come to gather her. Yet her anger was so much more violent.

“Dont tempt me b***h!” She snarled pulling her arms in response so the handmaid was tugged forward. With a snap of her body Sarias lunged forward, her teeth baring in the light as she went for her fellow coveneer. She was happily greeted with the other ghouls shoulder as she bit down hard, tasting the ectoplasmic blood on her tongue as she clamped down hard. She knew this would be her chance for escape, it was almost a reminder of who they were taking in. Yet it didnt matter for long, the close encounter made the other handmaiden hit Sarias behind her head, once, twice....three times! The nape of her neck catching the full brunt of the force and the world went dark...
