His name is Oliver Bay and he is the most beautiful six-string acoustic guitar ever.
He was a gift from by parents for my birthday, and I'm all excited about trying to teach myself how to play him.
Any of you girls play? Got any pointers?
(Lord knows I need them).
xD

There is one thing you want to know about: Muscle Memory. You have to practice your stuff well, and your fingers will get [super cool voice] MUSCLE MEMORY [/super cool voice]. Pretty much, if you don't practice much, it will feel a little awkward when you try to play a certain chord on it. If you do practice often, it will feel more natural.

(this is coming from a girl who can play "7 Things" by Miley Cyrus and "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay on her guitar.)

Mmmm. I remember when Roberto, my shiny step-up flute, was the new man in my life..
ohh, how those husky new instruments make me feel all hot and heavy,,
ohhh. baby.

(ahem)

Learn from people! Take lessons or bug a friend.
Look up stuff online -- videos, guides, etc.
Check out the local library for books and tapes.
Etc. etc. etc.

Scales. Sight-read. Practice, a lot.

I have two beauties: one acoustic, the other electric. And yet, I have no clue how to play. Haven't practiced due to school and laziness. Still want to learn though.

He sounds beautiful.

As a drummer and a very new bassist (lol, learning too), learn-- people post videos of lessons on Youtube. Find a rock band or guitarist, and watch and listen to them play. It's good to find different bands so you learn different styles. You can find things on the internet by googling it too. Sheet music can be found everywhere too. Practice, practice, practice and remember- have fun playing! ;D

I've played for six years or so, (not much lately, lol) and yeah; practice. You do need to build up that muscle memory, but once you're comfortable on the fretboard, it's really easy :3

And don't get discouraged-- I know it's really easy to be Oh, this is hard! and just move on or give up. But if you keep doing it, it'll get easier.
Try a site like 'Ultimate-guitar.com', they have tons of free tabs you can play.
