I'll just give you a list of bands and a few recomendations of albums:

Porcupine Tree (Best album in my opinion is In Absentia, their new stuff is a little disappointing)
Finger Eleven (Any album really)
Evanescence (If you haven't heard of these already i'd be surprised, either Fallen or The Open Door really)
Lacuna Coil (Album wise...their style varies - Unleashed Memories, Karmacode or Comalies - if you don't like the male singer so much, go with Karmacode)
The Pretty Reckless (I'm in love with their album)
Florence and the Machine (Again, album = <3)

Frost*
Hana Pestle
Guano Apes (Not around anymore, but i loved the album Walking on a Thin Line)
Apocalyptica (They collaborate with other artists - best album so far is World's Collide, although i'm yet to hear their newest album)
Nine Inch Nails (I have to try. ;D Uhhh. If you're looking for something heavy, try The Downward Spiral, otherwise pretty much any of their albums)
Porcelain and the Tramps (from what i'm aware, they are still yet to release an actual album |: )

Tool (My favourite album is 10,000 Days)
A Perfect Circle (Probably Thirteenth Step or Mer De Noms)
We Are The Fallen (May see similarities in style to Evanescence, but only because their main founder formed the band, plus it has two ex-members of the band. rofl )
