Natural Ability:
Pass for human: Like most crow demon species, Raven Mockers have the gift of changing their form between bird and humanoid. A Raven Mocker's specialty is the change- and the ability to pass for human for sustained periods of time. (Not as useful as it used to be.) The older and more practiced they are, the better their human disguise (usually helps to have been to the human world and seen the creatures.)
Draven himself has never seen a human(of course), an doesn't know what the creatures are, really. His change is far from perfect. Even if he thinks he's pretty close. (A creature you've never seen can look like anything you want it to in your mind.) He would tell you that humans have wings and feathers, if you asked him what they looked like.
Personality:
Draven is, for all intents and purposes, a teenager learning how to live in the world. He is brash, thick headed, and is pretty sure he is right most of the time. He loves learning new things, but at the same time seems to think he already knows everything there is to know.
He takes great pride in anything he does well. Studies, flight, that painting of fire-snake over his parents fireplace-all things he thinks he does well, and doesn’t mind talking about. At the same time, when he does screw up, he feels quite a bit of shame. He will take the hit and accept his failure if he has to, but he certainly won’t want to talk about it again. Ever.
He will jump into something with both feet if given the chance, especially if it looks like fun or seems like a good idea. If it works out, great! If not, well, that whole "never speak of it again" comes into play. If you don't talk about it, it never happened, right?
He does learn from his experiences, though. You might not talk about the time you burned yourself with the match, but you don't do it again. Usually. >.>
He dabbles in art, he likes sketching and painting. He doesn't usually share these with anyone, and his inspiration comes and goes. He also enjoys reading on a casual level.
His studies are one thing he takes very seriously. He was brought up to respect learning and school, and he does. He turns his homework in on time, and studies for his exams. Generally, he does well in his subjects.
In most aspects of life, however, Draven is laid back and easygoing. He has no problem being friendly with almost anyone, meeting new races is interesting, and he enjoys it.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
Because his family made him go to school. School is where he is supposed to learn about life and decide who he is. He is also supposed to study hard to become a productive member of Halloween Society, learn how to master his fear, and earn that passport to the human world so he can frighten a few human things as per what his race does.
Draven hopes to make some friends and have some fun, while learning about cool things like minipets and interesting stuff. (<----What counts as interesting can change very quickly.)
FEAR: Flame On! No, seriously.
Otherworldly Flame: Draven can concentrate fear into a green light, like a flame, around his feathers. While in bird form this gives the appearance of a flaming raven, and when humanoid-well, a flaming bird man. As of right now, it is pretty harmless, and almost useless in battle.
In Battle: Physical contact with the fire causes a small amount of damage, and leaves a small burn. Once 'lit' the fire continues until it burns out (short time!) -or- until contact is made, whichever is first. It does not stop hits from damaging Draven.
Draven hopes to be able to master it into a stronger offensive and/or a defensive ability.
