Recommendations

Okay, so I'm relatively new to yuri and wanted to know if you guys had any recommendations for manga to read or anime to watch. What are your favorites? What are some classic examples of yuri?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, chicas!

Strawberry Panic! is a good one. I haven't finished it myself, but I love what I've seen so far. :3
Loveless is primarily a yaoi manga/anime, but it does depict a small amount of yuri.

Other than that, I'm pretty lost myself. I'd also like to know more. O:

I've read some of Loveless in the past and couldn't get into it. I'll look into Strawberry Panic! for sure

Aoi Hana and Sasameki Koto are good...not like hardcore scenes or anything, just really sweet.

Revolutionary Girl Utena! It's sort of yuri, sort of not. :/ Better said: it has underlying yuri themes.
But it's my personal favorite.

As for Strawberry Panic...maybe it gets better as the series goes on, but I read the first two chapters and it seemed like just a bunch of fluff to me.
I was thinking, what's up with all the random face-touching all of a sudden they hardly know eachother wtfwtfwtf. gonk And then I stopped reading it.

Oh, but I LOVE Loveless. So good, even though Soubi's sort of a creeper. And that's yaoi. XD

Loveless is still my ultimate manga, but it is more on the yaoi side, though one pairing in there is yuri. sweatdrop I still love it to pieces, though!! >< I do like Strawberry Panic a whole lot, but it's unfinished and you have to be brave enough to read passed all the beginning confusion and randomness (there is a reason!!)

Thank you so much, everyone! I'm going to have a lot to research and read (I'm writing a major paper on normalization within anime and manga).

Sadly, I have never been able to get into Loveless. It just didn't click with me. Maybe I'll try it again?
