TEST POST

User ImageName: Hikari Krysalix Papillion

Age: 12
Height: 4' 11"
Weight: 69 lb
Hair Color: silver
Eye Color: silver
Skin Color: delicately pale
Race: Half-human (butterfly-bird hybrid)
Racial Attributes:
  • Sensitivity [All five senses are heightened (birds sight and hearing; butterflies smell, touch, and taste).]
  • Fragility [Hollow bones (bird) and wispy body (butterfly) drastically decrease weight. Speed increase. Weak bones.]
Physical Description: Hikari's entire body seems to strive to serve all that is good, quite unlike the appearances of most darkness users. The calm smile she usually has emphasizes the calm yet energetic shine in her wide silver eyes and matches well with her always gentle touch. Her soft, silver, and long hair drapes gently over her body, as if it was a testament to Hikari's purity. Despite having changed professions, Hikari continues to wear her religious garb (consisting of a white dress, white and gold robe, and a white and gold viel), which just adds to her pious look.
Even for a child, she looks small and fragile, which is completely true as her biological make-up makes her very susceptible to getting the worst out of any injury, whether its just pain or breaking a bone at something that would only leave a bruise. While they are normally hidden by her outer robe, Hikari's wings are her most defining feature. Being a half-human with two types of animals running in her blood, her wings aren't normal even by half-human standards. They are bird's wings, but there are four instead of the usual two: two larger on the top angled upwards and two smaller right below angled downwards to form a shape like the wings of a butterfly. The wings, as expected, aren't large and can be folded as well, so they usually don't leave any impression on the robe that covers them.

Personal Weaknesses:
  • Extremely light
  • Fragile
  • Physically sensitive
Personal Strengths:
  • Self-defense
  • Sensing danger
  • Creating and maintaining distance
  • Comforting/caring for others
  • Sticking to her beliefs
Skills:
  • Fighting with a staff
  • Speed
  • Sharp senses
  • Understanding
  • Remaining sober
  • Lying/Acting
Likes:
  • Helping others
  • Most everything else to some degree
Dislikes:
  • Leaving others in need
  • Breaking her beliefs
  • Alcohol
Personality: Hikari's physical appearance is no lie, her behavior differs greatly from the stereotypical behavior of darkness users. Always compassionate and gentle, Hikari is often the first to step in for anything from sorting out an argument between teammates to even asking for mercy on behalf of the enemy. Her sense of justice is far from the passive sort, which can be fatal at times, but the girl isn't a fool and knows when something is far beyond her reach; she'll stop in that case, as much as she doesn't want to. On the other hand, though, getting her to fight without some reason is near impossible as the girl prefers peace to conflict. While she may have sets ideas on bad and good, Hikari isn't a hard-headed fool and is willing to change her views should they be proved wrong (not without a trying to defend her opinions, of course). In fact, Hikari doesn't preach her beliefs much at all. She accepts the views of others and usually doesn't try to convince them otherwise, mostly when they choose to attack her opinions or when the two sides directly clash. Being understanding is another form of being gentle and Hikari exemplifies it as she does with pretty much any variation of kindness, to the point that while she might rub the wrong way with some people there's no one she truly hates. However, at the same time, understanding the situations and thoughts of others doesn't stop her from opposing them.
If there's any one "dark" thing about Hikari, it's perhaps her knack for speaking a gentle lie as if it was truth (or to be more general, any form of acting). Although, considering it's only ever done to comfort the receiver and even then only when it's most needed, considering such a trait "dark" is a bit far-fetched.

Relations:
  • Mother- Yuki Papillion [Lamia Scale] [Mage] [Deceased]
  • Father- Krys Papillion [Lamia Scale] [Mage] [Deceased]
  • Childhood friend- Violet [Lamia Scale] [Mage]
Family History: Hikari's family came from normal-enough parents, both mages of Lamia Scale. Perhaps the only strange thing was that both were half-humans of their own respect, the mother a half-bird and the father a half-butterfly. Hikari's mother died when giving birth to Hikari, the contractions breaking a rib bone that then punctured a lung according to records. Hikari's father followed a couple years later after contracting a fatal illness. With both of her parents dead when she was so young, the girl doesn't remember much about them. However, she treasures what little she has, particularly her name: a collaborative creation with Hikari from her mother's native tongue and Krysalix from her father's name and his side of the family's tradition of strange names. She was, after her father died, raised by Lamia Scale as an orphan, so she considers the guild a family of sorts even after having left it.
Personal History: From a young age, Hikari devoted her life to religion, living at a church as a priestess-in-training. Her decision wasn't based on belief in a greater being, but a desire to do as much good as she could. Since she was taught to believe, she does. However, rather than an individual figure, it's more the concept and idea of the figure of worship that she believes in.
In her studies and lessons, she scored just as well as the other students. It was her humble behavior and flawless personality that put her above the rest. With an unbreakable devotion to her faith supported by her unfailingly kind and understanding nature, she was an ideal servant of the church. There was one fatal flaw in Hikari, though, her natural talent for darkness magic. As Hikari devoted her religious studies to the non-magical branches of worship, mainly assisting in religious ceremonies and helping the less fortunate, this affinity of hers remained unknown for years; not even she knew about it. However, it eventually revealed itself during one of the rites of passage. There was confusion and regret among her superiors as they tried to find a solution to this dilemma, but what had to happen had to happen. It was unheard of for someone with talent in darkness like Hikari to be knowingly allowed to serve the church; it was a tradition that could not be broken. Thus, with much regret, the girl was released from the church's support; although, it was done as gently as possible. Even though Hikari had been officially denounced, she was given the option of staying at the church for however long was necessary for her to prepare to live in the outside world.
While the decision had irreparably dashed everything Hikari had worked for, the girl felt no grudge to the church and accepted the decision gracefully. She understood the tough position that her teachers and their higher-ups were in and the impossibility of any chance for her to stay as anything more than a passing guest. Passing up the generous offer to take her time and prepare, she packed up her few necessities and took off with the gentle smile she always had. She could no longer be a priestess, but that didn't stop her from being as she always was.
Now, she joins Lamia Scale, the guild she had been in the care of before choosing to follow the path of religion. Despite changing her profession to mage, Hikari plans to remain true to her past teachings.
Fun Facts:
  • While studying and training at the church, Hikari also participated in choir and a self-defense class. She did live in a guild as a young child, so she knew all about just how strong people could be. As virginity was an obvious necessity to be accepted into the service, the girl was determined to have some sort of defense for it. In the end, she became both a talented singer and a natural at fighting with a staff.
  • Hikari's natural hair color is actually black. Through sheer bad luck she ended up in a magical accident caused by another student at the church she studied at and her hair turned silver as a result. She doesn't really mind, though. If anything, all the accident did was discourage her from learning magic, which was kind of a blessing in disguise.
  • While abstaining from liquor is one of the rules of the religious institute Hikari belonged to, the church still had a decent store of wine for various ceremonies. One day, a new helper was sent to retrieve barrels of grape juice for a meal. He ended up bringing back barrels of aged, undiluted wine. In the few sips that it took to figure out that the wine was, well, wine, nearly everyone in the room had gotten drunk. Hikari was one of the few who hadn't become completely muddle-brained; in fact, she was the only one completely sober. Needless to say, this incident led to her self-discovery for her amazing tolerance for alcohol. Not like she ever drinks for recreation, though.

The first quest is finished. However, there are still some finishing touches 3nodding . For instance, today, I bought the original Kottan Bell since I'm a perfectionist sweatdrop .

For future reference, I'll note here that I bought Kottan Bell today for 275,000 gold. Hm, actually, maybe it'd be a good idea to write all my transactions down somewhere for future reference?
