Born into a desolate world in the mountain side of kalona and corrupted family members Hallows Bane knew little of what his life would be. His father was a power kirin kalona who was never around, seeing that his time was better spent in the depths of what Hallows perceived as Hell. He began growing up with his mother and older brother. His mother, a corrupted unicorn shaman, paid little attention to her older brother, favoring him. It was him who his father had chosen to replace him once his time had passed. This had a very negative effect on his older brother who envied him greatly. While their mother would spend all her time prepping the young colt Hallows for his eventual ascension his brother would watch in silent fuming.

As Hallows got older there came a time for their father to rise again. He would watch as his family came to pay their homage to their protector by bringing small gifts. Some were skulls of recently killed animals, others were freshly killed, anything you can think of came into their territory for his father. It rather created a morbid scene. Hallows would soon learn that this was also the time of his official decree of being the next protector. As for his older brother, by this time he had caught wind of Skinwalkers coming closer to the territory, but he didn’t really think anything of it. In fact, because of his jealousy, he intentionally kept that aspect a secret from the rest. Possibly hoping for the skinwalkers to interrupt Hallows ceremony.

And indeed, true to Hallows’ brother’s wish, the Skinwalkers did. They tore through the mountain side attacking whoever they could. It was a mad house, the males of his family went first in protecting the others. The females also began to fight back. In Hallows haste, from being so young still, tried to flee from the scene. However, as he ran around the cliff bend he slipped off the side. Due to the fighting going on nobody noticed it happened. As he fell down his still developing wings got broken from the impact, forever hindering their progress into full wings used for flight. Thus, he was grounded forever. Also during the impact on the cliff a few meters down from the one he had fallen off of, he bashed his head against the cold unforgiving rock, knocking him out for a time and effectively erasing his memories.

By the time he had awoken it was already dark and quiet. The fighting had stopped long ago. Hallows had tried calling for somebody to come find him. But nobody came. They had long ago given up on trying if they did so. Thus Hallows did the only thing he could do, get himself up and try to get back where ever he was supposed to go. His wings hurt and throbbed terribly. His legs were shaking with each unsteady step he took. He felt like the first few moments after his birth and trying to take his first few steps in the world. It was annoying him. He noticed an entrance to a cave, a path cut into the cave. So Hallows began to follow it, hoping it would take him somewhere else. Little did he know at the time, but it would lead down the mountains and into the rest of the soquili lands. It would take him into the lands of the herd who would raise him. They wouldn’t know of his past until later when he met his huntress and future mate. He himself wouldn’t his childhood until he met her. And so the demonic looking colt left the mountains, searching.
