How to come out to a Christian friend?

I've known him since I was 9 years old. and he's older than me. and I was wondering, if you were in this situation what would you do?
I've also grown some type of "interest" in him, which I did not expect. burning_eyes

Not all religious people are actually against homosexuality. The first two people I came out to were Catholic but they were both cool with it. Just wait a little bit if you can and see how they might react/how they feel about homosexuality before coming out to them.

Casually bring up something about homosexuality. Like:

"Hey, did you see that 'it get's better' commercial?"

or

"I'm glad that petition to stop Uganda from executing gays went through. It would be horrible if they were able to put someone to death just because of their sexuality."

Yeah, basically what everyone else has said: try to feel them out first. Luckily for me, my friend was the one who brought it up by telling me that she had a lesbian roommate. Turned out she was pretty cool with it.
