Kagae's parents struck you as affluent, not influential. His father likely has a high position and rank in his field, but that field is not one of upholding the laws of the Crab and the Kaiu - especially of that in a village he doesn't reside in.

Kagae let out an audible sigh before turning around and sketching a line in the dirt.

"This is where I stand..." stated Kagae indicating the line on the floor, "amongst the people whom I travel with two of them are scorpions. Not only that they are both scorpions I wouldn't trust a grain of rice to in fear it might get 'stolen' and then show little reason for me to give them that trust. Then there's this hare who despite how much he has done I just do not like. So... Now you know where I stand and that I will do as you say with reluctance but I have at least voiced myself."

Kagae would stand there in case a response was made if not he'd return to where he was sitting.
