So my dogs were on raw. Then mum made them go vegan. Now she's allowing me to put them both back on raw and I should be getting part time work soon, which will give me some cash if she decides to do anything like this again. Once they've finished the bags of vegan food (still have about a month and a bit left), they'll be back on raw.

At the moment they're getting raw as a treat. The way their eyes light up lol. I love raw. It's so healthy for them, and they get a good work out munching through the bones.

Vegan food. Gah. Makes them poo like double the amount. Looking foward to their good old poop schedule.
I think I had it down pretty well last time we fed it. They were doing really well, except for one week when I wasn't feeding enough bone and Sparkys stool was a tad runny. This time though I might add some veges, last time I didn't, didn't figure they needed any. Still don't, but guess I better.

Also, unrelated, but I think Sparky's gotten used to the cat. When we first brought Lockett home, Sparky went nuts. Now he tries to play a bit, but usually backs away when the cat starts lifting those claws... But they've been in the same room for a while (cat just left) and he was relaxed around the cat enough to have a snooze. Deedee however is still scared of the cat, and the cat loves scaring her. I have to walk around with her when she's inside, blocking the cat each time it pounces.

Oh oh oh and also, I think they might be able to come inside to live soon. Mum has talked about closing the large office/big room with fun stuff in it so that the cat can't get in, and putting a pet door in it so the dogs can sleep there of a night and come in the rest of the house during the day. Or we'll just have to take them out when needed. She also brought up how she thinks crates are cruel, and I told her they don't need to always be in them, that they need walks, time out of it and in the yard, play etc. So maybe they'll sleep in crates of a night (and they'll be good for toilet training). That would be good when we're not around anyway so Sparky doesn't find anything exciting to do while we sleep. Now that he's becoming friends with the cat, they might end up working together, which would be a lot of mischeif....

Did the sales person not explain that vegan food is for dogs with SERIOUS allergies??? Whoever sold her that should be fired. I honestly wouldn't. We have one vegetarian feed and the people who buy it use it as suppliment for raw or for dogs with horrible allergies that can't afford to go raw.

No. She had to buy it online, as none of the stores sold it. I tried to tell her, but what would a teenager know, right?
