So, some people in the comic drawing scene do things called fight clubs. What these are, are basically a two person collaborative of one of the artist's characters vs one of the other artist's characters. They take turns every 3-4 days drawing as many pages as they feel like, to further the battle. It's actually quite fun.
My game though is similar as to it being a collaborative comic, but rather then fighting, you take turns to further the story. The last one of these I made lasted 6 months and had 56 pages, and a fairly funny storyline. My question is, can I do something like this here? The guild's forum isn't nearly as active as the comic artist forum, but that's also a plus, because most of the people here actually stay here.
My Comi-Club (as I call it) would ask for 4-5 people. I allowed more then that before, but by time a full cycle goes through, it's been several months, in some instances, so the 4-5 people works. I would also figure doing around 4-5 days per person to get their pages up. Also, each person gets to make one main character (side characters are fine, but can't be in more then a few pages in a row.) The last goal is to try and keep a similar style between all artists. If you were trying to get into this professionally, then you would probably have to match up to someone else's style anyway, so it's good practice.
The main reason I like doing this as it makes me feel more obligated to actually draw, as well, it let's me get practice at drawing new/different poses, as well as multiple character pics.
Anyway, would anyone be opposed to me starting a topic like this here? (and if you like the idea, any suggestions on basic {Extremely basic, as it's a sandbox experience} ideas on story?)
Well, lunch break is over for me now, so I have to go. ^__^ Can't wait for replies.

Sounds like an awesome idea. Go for it!
I'd love to join, but my scanner is still back on the other side of the country (I just moved) and I'm not expecting to get the rest of my stuff shipped out until later in the year...sigh. I really hope it takes off so I can join a later round!

O-o I'd have thought I'd have come up with an idea by now....
XD I can't think of anything to start off with, as far as creating the basic universe....
I think I may try something mech, since I haven't really done mech before... And I don't see it on here to often either.
(Also, is it ok to post it in the main forum? I know I don't really go into the sub forums, and I just don't want it to be lost.)

I give this game my stamp of approval...it will keep the main forum more active once this game picks up.
I finally got the cable for my tablet ordered (only took me 6 months to be able to finally order it) but still need to get the actual tablet as it is still in Mass and I am in Cali....sigh, I just need a job so I can afford to ship it out here. Then I can play the game too!
Once each round is done, there is a subforum I can move it into theat is an appropriate showcase for it. ;D

Still haven't come up with a random idea like I normally do, so I will sit down sometime soon and actually think about it XD.
Probably after the St. Louis Game Jam this weekend.
