if i didnt move in with my fiance i would still be living at home, he pays for everything and im just a trophy fiance at the moment

at our old apartment we paid about $900 in rent, and either $20 or $50 a month in pet fees, not sure which. our highest electricity bill was $200 but most of the time it was around $100, keep in mind though i have alot of things plugged into the walls for my cold blooded animals. and i cant remember how much water was.

now our morgage is a bit over $1000 a month, not sure what our utility bills are yet though, i let the fiance handle all that stuff since i dont have a stable income at the moment.

there are so many things you need to pay for, food, clothes, car bills, gas, cable, internet, cleaning supplies, and thats just human stuff.

i would suggest finding someone to live with at first. split the cost of living a bit between friends or something

I'm 27 and living with my husbands mother. We admittedly had a fire, but that was 2 years ago. We've stayed for a number of reasons, from his parents divorce, to just wanting to save a little more. But we're more then ready to get out. Just not sure when that will be. Or where we're going to go when we do.

Savage Destiny
See, I am EXTREMELY anti-condo. The HOA's in those things are the biggest pain in the a** you could ever imagine. I've talked to so many people on various forums faced with the choice of giving up their dog or moving after living in a condo for months or years, because some dipshit decided to complain about something. Then the HOA steps in and says they have to fix the (usually nonexistent) problem or get rid of the dog. Or the HOA rules change so that size/type of dog is suddenly excluded. I'd never live in a house with a neighborhood HOA either.

That's why I always say a frim NO when the bf talks about us buying a condo. I'm like, why pay money to "own" something when there's all of these rules and restrictions? I'd rather buy a house, which is one of the reasons we moved down south because it's cheaper here. There's a house near his work for sale on a decent sized lot for something like $53,000. Seriously? We could pay that off in two years if only we had a down payment saved up right now.

i hear house prices down in florida are a dream come true. the fiance wanted us to move down there since we could afford a larger house, but i didnt want to be that far from my friends and family, plus i think that would be too much house for me to keep clean. ill stick with my small little house, still almost too much space until we get a dog and have a baby, i hardly use the other 2 bedrooms, one just has a cat litterbox and the other i just oil paint in since it smells so strong. plus its kind of fun living just a couple blocks from my dad, free food and powertools whenever i want lol

though even with houses hoa are still a b***h. we dont have one in my area, at least not one that cares, but a couple miles away there are the upper class areas with super strict hoa, my friend moved becasue they wanted her to pain her garage door every year and it could only be certain boring colors. i love having a pretty blue front door and having a dangerous dog breed would be the least of my worries with some of the exotics on my to get list lol

I get home today and remark to my mother that she had to kick in my door today I could tell from the marks on it. Her response?

"well I had to put the new cleaning bottle on top of the rat cage"
eek
I guess I have a lot to learn in life because I did not realize that that was so urgent it required damaging my door.

Basically what I do is close the door to my room and open the closet door RIGHT next to it. The door opens slightly before hitting the closet door. You then have to force it open the rest of the way which causes damage to both doors. I leave through my bathroom and lock that door as I go. This may seem childish. But when your mother goes through your entire closet takes things out including your strategically hidden laungerie and neoprene wetsuit that must be hung and then folds those things and puts them in your dresser simply because she up and desided you didn't have enough free hangers.

Or well, breaks down your door because she wants to put something away or sees through the crack of your door that your bed isn't made...

Well I'm sorry but I don't care how juvenile it is I will continue to try to find any means to keep her out of my room. I've spent A THOUNSAND dollars in vet bills on the so called family pets that's more than my brother pays in rent and she still acts like a crazy psycho control freak I CAN NOT live here another second let alone the time it would take to save up for a house. scream

Our home with adams car, we went through about 1300$ a month. I'm not counting his other loans in that, which bumped our total to almost 2000$ and we only went grocery shopping every other month, and out to eat once a month
